This essay deals with the diseases osteoporosis and osteoarthritis in a medieval population from Visby in Sweden. The aim has been to evaluate to what extent and in what way these diseases have influenced the people of a relatively large harbour town during the Middle Ages. 24 individuals were analysed osteologicaly and 19 of them became subject for measurements of bone density through DEXA readings. Furthermore four individuals were x-rayed based on external differences due to osteoarthritis and a change in the depression at the base of the medial surface of the greater trochanter. Similar studies have been made in Trondheim, Norway and Wharram Percy, Great Britain.

Abstract I have made a Website called ?Art school? for Liljevalchs art Gallery, Culture administration in Stockholm and Culture school in Stockholm. It is with scholarship from these that this Website has been possible. The work whit the ?Art school? started in the autumn of 2005 and ended in May 2006 on distance from Stockholm towards Blekinge technology school in Karlshamn. The Webb place is for the general public, but most for people who have interest in art and for those how want to learn more painting in different mediums. This Websites I name: oil, watercolour, acrylic, coal, gouache, and graphite. On each one of these mediums you?ll get to know about their history, what technique they have, what sort of material you need, practise and tip.

Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka trafikbullrets betydelse för var vi väljer att bosätta oss genom att besvara frågeställningen: finns det något samband mellan trafikbullernivåer och efterfrågan på bostäder i Stockholms innerstad? Metoder som används är regressionsanalys och intervjuer. Statistik från 251 enskilda bostadsrättsförsäljningar fördelade på 12 stycken innerstadsgator i Stockholm har insamlats för 2013. Genomsnittliga kvadratmeterpriser på dessa gator har ställts mot trafikbullernivåer som Stockholm stad uppmätt 1999. Where you work and whom you work for has thus become the dominant factors instead of what you are working with.Purpose: The purpose of this study is to examine how the corporate culture, the rational and emotional benefits are experienced by the employees of the company. The aim is also to examine whether the corporate culture can become a management control measure by good communication between employees within the organization.Methodology: The essay is based on a qualitative research method and empirical data were collected through interviews from the company MTR Stockholm.Theoretical Frame of reference, Edgar Schein, Three Levels of Culture, Seven dimensions.Results: The study has shown that there are different cultures within the company. But also that there is a strong corporate culture within the business, the respondents feel an affinity with working within the underground rather than working for the company MTR Stockholm..

This essay aims to examine and compare Swedish and Norwegian social work with children. It is a comparative study between two social welfare offices, in districts with similar population and problems, one located in Stockholm and one in Oslo. The main questions were; how is the work organized and carried out, what type of help and assistance is available and what kind of discretion and powers do the social workers have. In our essay we used qualitative methods mostly based on interviews, vignette questionnaires and documents, but also written research. In our analysis we used modern organisation theory and street level bureaucracy to seek explanations.The two welfare offices have similarities and differences.

Informationskoncept om kommunikation och tjänster för Stockholm Stadsom skall kunna tas i bruk år 2010, året då Stockholm har som mål att varavärldens tillgängligaste stad. The management at the City of Stockholm?s Sports Department have problems. During recent years several IT-projects have been launched but results are worse than could have been hoped for. The projects are generally perceived as being too expensive, too time consuming and not to have delivered the expected results. This thesis aims at giving the City of Stockholm?s Sports Department theoretically based advice on how to improve their management of IT-projects.

Denna innefattar den aktuella läge för taxibranschen i Stockholm och även den nya konkurrenssituationen hos taximarknaden i Stockholm efter avregleringen 1990. Denna undersökning bygger på en kvalitativ samt en kvantitativ metod då har vi försökt att noggrant få fram fakta om branschen med hjälp av både primärdata (intervjuer) och sekundärdata (årsredovisningar, ekonomiska rapporter, akademiska artiklar, Internet källor mm.). I analysen har utförts sedan en jämförelse mellan fallföretaget Taxi Stockholm och dess huvudkonkurrenter med hjälp av valda teorier och insamlade sekundär samt primärdata. This thesis is about the idea of public transport and the discussions stirred in the media during changes in ownership. More specifically it is a study of the historical situation of Stockholm, Sweden, where the periods chosen are the 1910s, 1960s and 1990s.During the 1910s Stockholm?s first and largest tram company was taken over by thecity, and a period of public ownership began, which in the 1960s changed form whenthe county council took over the city?s principal authority and formed the politicallyadministered company SL (Storstockholms Lokaltrafik, Greater Stockholm LocalTransit Company). Between these periods the word kollektivtrafik (public transport)was established in the Swedish language. This study describes and compares the ideasconcerning the phenomenon of public transport.The aim of the study is to analyse the ideas, values and ideals concerning public transport in the media, defined as newspapers.

Ordningsstörande kring allsvensk fotboll, främst i Stockholm har länge varit ett problem för samhället. I samband med dessa matcher begås skadegörelse, misshandel och ordningsstörningar i hög utsträckning och en allsvensk fotbollsmatch kan kosta uppemot 600 000 kronor. Syftet med denna rapport är att belysa de skyldigheter som polisen har i fråga om den allmänna ordningen och säkerheten kring allsvenska fotbollsmatcher i Stockholm. Vidare vill vi ta reda på om polisens utbildning är tillräcklig för att de ska klara av detta på ett bra sätt. Vi valde att intervjua yttre kommissarie Anders Sigurdsson vid Operativa avdelningen i Stockholm med anledning av att han är ansvarig för planering av insatser kring allsvenska fotbollsmatcher i Stockholm.

I denna uppsats studeras placeringen av svenska filmproduktionsbolag. Eftersom majoriteten av de svenska filmproduktionsbolagen förlagt sig i Stockholm, trots att hälften av all svensk långfilm produceras i Västra Götalandsregionen, studeras de olika spatiala förutsättningarna för filmproduktionsbolag förlagda på dessa båda platser. Den övergripande frågeställningen rör varför majoriteten av svenska filmproduktionsbolag är placerade i Stockholm. Det empiriska materialet har samlats in genom intervjuer med filmproduktionsbolag, filmföretag och samproducenten Film Väst. Baserat på klusterteorier kring lokalt surr, globala pipelines och temporära kluster, har materialet analyserats.

Learn more about furniture for public areasI contacted a furniture producer called Nola AB, in Stockholm, who became my work partner during this project. The asked me to design a piece of furniture where you can sit and work with a laptop on. The target was for public areas, for example in parks, malls, or at airports.In cooperation with Nola, my ambition was to develop this piece of furniture that was the answers on their wishes and demands.

In light of the massive property bubbles that have been bursting in the USA, Spain and Ireland during the last decade, the aim of this thesis is to clarify whether ? or to what degree - the municipality of Stockholm might experience a property bubble in the near future. The municipality of Stockholm is undergoing a housing shortage and house prices have risen during the last few years. Neoliberalism and property bubbles are used as a theoretical framework in this paper. The methodology consist of semi structured interviews, analysis of documents and statistical data from Eurostat, Valueguard and the Swedish administrative authority; Statistiska centralbyrån (SCB).
