This paper investigates the relationship between the two modernist writers Katherine Mansfield and Virginia Woolf. The two authors had a frail and complicated friendship that influenced their fiction and fictional characters more than the general public knows. My paper investigates how Woolf can have found her fictional story ideas direct from their friendship. With a comparative theory I?m finding and giving examples of how their friendship is reflected in their fictional stories, and I?m backing up my examples with citations from their own diaries, letters and notebooks.

Abstract: Since the recession caught the market in fall 2008, multiple companies have suffered due to their former aggressive investment behavior. Huge goodwill piles have been collected ready to be doomed by the market. The aim of the study is to investigate equity analysts? consideration of goodwill in a recession market. An empirical study is conducted, based on interviews with ten Swedish equity analysts that follow companies with relevant goodwill status.

In this thesis we examine the relationship between board composition and firm performance in Swedish companies. The selection of companies includes all Swedish limited liability companies, with the exception of micro enterprises, that have been active between the years of 2009-2010. We develop hypotheses based on resource dependence theory, agency theory, and the resource based view, and test these with regression analysis against collected data. Specifically, we examine the effects of board diversity, outside directorships, and CEO duality. Our findings show that none of the theories provide sufficient explanatory power of the relationship between board composition and firm performance, and that further research is required to better understand the role and effects of company boards..

Sverige har under lång tid varit ett av få länder i Västeuropa där ett radikalt högerpopulistiskt parti inte haft väljarmässiga framgångar. Detta har numera förändrats och Sverigedemokraterna finns idag representerade i Riksdagen. Samtidigt har det under senare år skett en betydande ökning av hatbrott med främlingsfientliga motiv. Uppsatsen syftar till att undersöka hurvida det finns något samband mellan Sverigedemokraternas stöd och begångna hatbrott på kommunnivå. En regressionsanalys av tvärsnittsdata genomförs utifrån minsta kvadratmetoden (OLS), där resultatet visar på att variationen i partiets stöd enbart förklarar en liten andel av variationen i hatbrott.

Human-computer interaction is central for computer assisted development. The aim was to investigate the user experience of a new (U2) compared to an old (U1) computer system, within a cognitive psychology frame of reference. Six subjects, frequently using the system, participated in the study. It was shown that the new (U2) compared to the old system (U1) enhanced and supported more the users? system related procedures/tasks.

SharePoint is a web based platform designed to provide internal communications and file sharing for businesses and organizations.In this project, we created a system consisting of multiple applications to be used together with SharePoint. These applications are meant to simplify the workflow for internal orders of products. The system is targeted towards companies that do not have a flexible approach to digital orders or companies that want to integrate this functionality into their SharePoint platform. The project includes, in addition to the creation of the system, installation of the software and the servers needed to run a SharePoint environment and their configurations.The system consists of four applications where one of these, the store application, is required for the system to be used at all. The other applications are an order management application, a purchase application and an incoming delivery application. Of these four, we have implemented the store application and the order management application. Our hope is that users will find the system easy to use and graphically appealing..

Författarna har genom studien funnit att faktorerna engagemang, tidigare internationell erfarenhet, systematiskt tillvägagångssätt, företagets storlek,nätverk och kunskap haft tydligast påverkan på de studerade svenska företagens internationalisering och framgång i Ryssland. Dessa framgångsfaktorer tycks även likna de faktorer som generellt framträder i tidigare forskning. Dock framstår möjliga marknadsspecifika element som kan kopplas specifikt till den ryska marknaden. The consumption levels in Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Norway have been rising fo r the last decade. Even after the financial crisis of 2008, consumption levels continued their upward trend, regardless of the recession. The explanation seems to be, at least partly, that households tends to increase their debt ratio in order to continue the same standard of living as before in terms of consumption. It is clear, based of our results, that there is a connection between increased consumption and debt ratio for households. And the consequences of allowing loans to finance a sustained or increasing consumption may ultimately be difficult to manage.

Syftet med examensarbetet är att på aktiens första handelsdag undersöka graden av underprissättning på nyintroducerade aktier på OMX Stockholm Large Cap, Mid Cap, Small Cap och First North och vilket samband denna underprissättning har med ledande befattningshavares och styrelses innehav av teckningsoptioner. Undersökningen baseras på 74 företag på OMX Stockholm och First North under perioden januari 2000 till november 2007. Studien visar på två resultat. Det finns inte något visat samband mellan insiders innehav av teckningsoptioner baserade på aktiens introduktionskurs och underprissättning. The purpose of our essay is to examine if variation exists in the way that auditors try their independence, this so called analysis-model. We will suggest some factors that influence the way auditors practise the analysis-model. The institutional theory predicts no differencies since the normative pressure could be expected to be severe. But we found that among other things people?s qualifications, personalities and audit firm?s size and age influence the way auditors try their independence.

The distance between home and work has increased in recent decades. By the development of infrastructure and public transport, jobs farther from home have become more accessible and this development has in turn increased commuting. Commuting travellers often pass over administrative boundaries which often serve as borders for public transport pricing. Also the market control prices. Syftet med undersökningen var att undersöka markanvändning och skogshistoria i ett område imellanskåne på gränsen mellan skog och slätt. Frågor som behandlas rör den medeltidaagrarexpansionen och den senmedeltida agrarkrisen, samt förändringar i trädslagsammansättningen.För att besvara frågorna har vi använt paleoekologisk metodik, fr. a. pollenanalys och C14-datering,men också flygbilder, historiska kartor och skriftligt källmaterial. Våra resultat visar på enodlingskontinuitet i området från tidigmedeltid till 1600-tal med en tydlig expansion av åker ochgräsmarker under tidig medeltid och en lika tydlig regression under senmedeltid.Trädslagssammansättningen har under lång tid dominerats av ek, bok och tall.

The construction and use of buildings in the EU accounts for half of the EU?s extracted materials and energy consumptions, and a third of greenhouse gas emissions. In the past decade, the construction sector has responded to such concerns by focusing on post production energy efficiency. However, new findings indicate that upstream construction processes influence emissions significantly ? necessitating a shift in focus to include material choices and building processes.
