To have a tool that guides you when you work with a complex system can be helpful since the complexity of the work can be reduced. In this thesis I explore the possibilities to use a helper application whilst planning installations of access control systems. The purpose of the application is to provide support during the planning and at the same time make the user aware of the limitations that exist in the access control system ARX Access. The background to this final thesis is that our mandator, A-hus, was interested to examine which roof system that would be most appropriate to their types of houses. To investigate this, we first conducted an evaluation of the most commonly used roof systems in Sweden today: decking, board, roof cloth and prefabricated roof cassettes.To gather information about the different systems we have conducted interviews with several professionals within the construction industry, done an extensive literature study, and gathered information from the Internet.Based on the evaluation of roof systems and the literature, we analyzed advantages and disadvantages of the roof systems from three main perspectives: system characteristics, economics and other characteristics. We found these perspectives to be the most relevant when selecting a roof system.The main perspectives comprise three categories which are graded. These grades are then added together for a score for each main perspective and a total score for the three main perspectives. Then we compared the systems and, based on the scores, suggested one roof system as the most suitable for A-hus.Our result suggests that the prefabricated roof cassettes probably is the best solution for A-hus, but only if it is possible to standardize the cassettes and still maintain the flexibility to match A-hus? house types.

Denna studie har som syfte att ta fram ett designförslag pÄ ett ögonrörelsestyrt infotainment-system samt utvÀrdera detta. Fokusen ligger pÄ den funktionella design och dess för- och nackdelar. Studien tar upp tre olika designförslag varav ett valdes att göra en prototyp av. Prototypen skapades med hjÀlp av HTML5, Javascript och Python. Detta kopplades sedan samman med ett ögonrörelsesystem tillhörande Smart Eye AB.

Password Management Systems Àr system som hjÀlper anvÀndaren skapa kontroll över sinaanvÀndarkonton och lösenord. Denna studie analyserar tre utvalda system, hur anvÀndarvÀnliga de Àr samtvilken typ av autentisering och kryptering de anvÀnder. Metoden som anvÀnds Àr experiment tillsammansmed intervjuer av fem deltagare, varav alla hade olika erfarenheter med datorer. Studien har visat attanvÀndarvÀnligheten bland flerparten av systemen Àr höga. Risker finns bland upprepade lösenord ochanvÀndarnamn, samt osÀker autentisering.

SjÀlvscanning introducerades i butiker för ett antal Är sedan och finns nu i butiker som Ica Maxi och Coop Forum. Investeringskostnaden för ett sÄdant system Àr dock hög och butiker med lÀgre omsÀttning har dÀrmed inte rÄd att köpa in detta system. Detta projekt syftade till att utveckla ett alternativ, med en applikation till Android för scanning. Tanken var att kunderna dÄ kan anvÀnda sina mobiltelefoner som scannrar vilket skulle minska investeringskostnaden för butikerna.Genom att studera existerande system, togs en lösning bestÄende av tvÄ delar fram, dels applikationen men Àven en server med en databas för lagring av kundernas varukorgar. För testning av lösningen utvecklades Àven en testmiljö bestÄende av en prisdatabas och en kassa i form av ett datorprogram.

Denna uppsats avser att belysa frÄgan varför prototyper Àr ett viktigt verktyg i en utvecklingsprocess av ett mobilt system. Fördelar och nackdelar som verktyget kan innebÀra behandlas och olika tillvÀgagÄngssÀtt beskrivs. Arbetet med detta baseras i ett praktiskt utvecklingsprojekt pÄ IT-kunsultföretaget Citerus. Projektuppgiften var dÀr att genom en informationflödesanalys definiera olika flaskhalsar i informationsflödet pÄ olika hotell för att sedan föreslÄ ett effektiviserande system. Projektet koncentrerades vidare pÄ stÀdpersonalen och deras arbete.

Detta sker genom att direkt representera affÀrsprocesser i verksamhetens IT, i s.k. tjÀnster. OmrÄdet Àr dock nytt och kunskapen begrÀnsad. Detta arbete identifierar problem vid implementeringar av tjÀnsteorienterade arkitekturer.

The demands of environmental effects in today?s companies have been increasing more andmore. To be able to withstand customers, cooperatives and government demands the ISO14001 certification should not be neglected.In January 2007 the general management of SAS decided to introduce an environmentalmanagement system for SAS Tech. The work which has been carried out is a part of thecertification process of ISO 14001 which will be completed by the end of year 2009.The aim is to create auditroutines for the company in order to be able audit ISO 14001standard internally which is a demand to get certified and to keep the certification in thefuture. A schedule has been done which audits different part of the standard at every auditduring one year.

NorFor is a cooperative project between the consulting organisations owned by the farmers in the Nordic countries ? Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Iceland. The project started in 2001 and the outcome, the system for ration calculation NorFor Plan and the model for evaluating the ration NorFor Evaluation, was completed in 2006. Along with NorFor Plan economical optimization are available and according to literature, the optimization will generate a 2 öre lower feed cost per kg milk, and thereby improve the profit for the farmer. The use of NorFor Plan in Sweden for feed optimization during spring 2008 has been very small. In this study eight herds in the middle of Sweden fed half the herd according to the classical system used in Sweden and the other half according to NorFor Plan system.

In almost every workplace today IT-systems have strong and significant roll in theeveryday work. It is therefore important that the systems have a good functionalityand that they work as an aid for the users. This thesis aims to study the systems atthe company Telge NĂ€t and to analyse them from a usability perspective. By using thisperspective it has been obvious how difficult it is to make improvements on usability,once the system is in place. Even other larger improvements of the systems aredifficult to make at this stage and this is something that the users are aware of.

This thesis work is the result of the company Prisjakt?s wish to develop and improve its current system of opinions for online stores. The challenge was to develop a similar system that competitors are using but better. The collection of information is based on purchases and are collected from Web-shops. The purchases can then be monitored in a control panel.

För ett företag eller en organisation kan det vara av stor vikt att kunna utvÀrdera en IT-investering dÄ denna kan leda till nytta för organisationen. Ur kundens perspektiv Àr det viktigt att vÀlja den investering som passar just deras organisation och dÀrför Àr det viktigt med rÀtt information sÄ att valet blir rÀtt. DÀrför Àr det viktigt att kunna identifiera de kriterier som företaget anser att en IT-investering ska uppfylla. Detta arbete inriktas dÀrför till att undersöka vilka kriterier en IT-investering ska uppfylla för att skapa nytta för organisationen.Resultatet visar nÄgot olika kriterier uppkommit frÄn de olika företagen som har undersökts. Genom att utföra litteraturstudier och enkÀtundersökning har det kunnat göras en jÀmförelse mellan de rÄdande Äsikterna pÄ företagen och det som litteraturen sÀger.

Detta Àr ett 10 poÀngs examensarbete pÄ C-nivÄ vid Karlstads Universitet. MÄlet med examensarbetet var att utveckla ett befintligt system för webbaserade kurstest sÄ att det ocksÄ kan anvÀndas för duggor. SÀkerheten skulle förbÀttras sÄ att studenter blir tvungna att logga in med anvÀndarnamn och lösenord nÀr de ska skriva duggor. Resultaten frÄn de studenter som skriver duggor skulle sparas i en databas. Vi hade ocksÄ som mÄl att lÄta studenter testa systemet och att lÄta dem fylla i en enkÀt med frÄgor om vad de tycker om ett webbaserat system för duggor.Det resultat vi har kommit fram till Àr ett system som bÄde hanterar webbaserade kurstest och webbaserade duggor.

The demand for district heating is expected to decrease in the future, due to competition from heat pumps and energy efficiency measures in buildings. Development of existing district heating systems is therefore necessary for district heating companies to maintain market shares. This Master?s thesis describes and investigates the heat and electricity production and profitability of a combined Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) and heat pump that is integrated with an existing district heating system. The studied district heating system is utilizing heat from waste incineration. In Sweden waste constitute 20 % of the fuel mix used in district heating systems, and this share is expected to increase in the future.
