Children with cleft lip and palate (CLP) and children with specific language impairment (SLI) may be affected emotionally and psychosocially by their disorders. Thus, it is important to investigate the psychosocial risk factors that these children are exposed to. The aim of this study was to examine how parents assess the emotional and psychosocial well-being of children with CLP and children with SLI, and if the two parental groups differ in their assessments using the standardized instrument Child Behaviour Checklist (CBCL). Participants in the study were the parents of ten children with unilateral and bilateral CLP between ages 6;7-9;0 (mean age 7;5) and the parents of 13 children between ages 6;4-8;8 (mean age 7;3) who are attending preschools and schools for children with SLI. These parents were asked to complete the questionnaires CBCL and Child Health Questionnaire (CHQ). The children with CLP had lower scores than the children with SLI in all domains of the CBCL, indicating that these children with CLP had better emotional and psychosocial well-being.

Of all observable societal trends, the proliferation of standardizing processes is striking. Auditing standards are an illustrative example of this. Not only privately owned companies must today make available numbers and key figures to satisfy needs of information and knowledge. Government agencies are increasingly conforming to this trend, adopting standards for quality assurance and monitoring, producing numbers and annual reports ? despite their somewhat ambiguous task and role.

The purpose of this Bachelor?s thesis is twofold. Firstly it aims to make a contribution to the understanding of how five Swedish Diocesan libraries have carried out the digitizing of their rare book and manuscript collections. Problem areas related to this activity are also investigated. Secondly, it aims to examine the relative guidelines and Standardization norms, which have been formulated on a national basis.

Feedback is a tool that can be used to give students the confirmation of their accomplishments , helping them to increase understanding of the results of a performance and to alert students if change is required for future performance. Other studies and reports regarding clinical practice in education has shown that students feel that feedback has good impact on learning and positive effects such as enhanced self-confidence. Onboard training forms a major part of the education at the four-year nautical science education in Kalmar, in four years, one year is spent on board ships. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to find out how students at the four-year nautical science program in Kalmar felt that they receive feedback after completing on board training and how they wish that such feedback would be given. Six students were interviewed, three from grade one and three from grade three.

Furthermore, we aim to understand and explain how these expectations are related to gender norms and hierarchies in society, that is social constructions concerning what men and women should do and be like. In addition, the thesis aspire to understand and explain how these constructions relate to more specific social constructions about sexual molestations in kindergarten contexts and explore how these discourses influence male kindergarten teachers in their work including which strategies they use in order to cope with them.How do male kindergarten teachers perceive additional expectations from their surroundings?How do male kindergarten teachers perceive the effects and consequences of the social constructions about sexual molestations in kindergarten contexts? Do they use coping strategies in order to attend to the expectations projected on them, and if so, what kind of strategies? The interviews were directed with an interview guide in hand while allowing for spontaneous input from the interviewee.

Det finns ett flertal studier som beskriver och diskuterar olika aspekter av standardiserade arbetsmetoder och personbedömning i arbetslivet. Till vår kännedom finns dock ingen studie som belyser möjliga effekter av den nyligen lanserade bedömningsstandarden ISO 10667 i förhållande till rekrytering och urval, vilket var ambitionen med denna studie. En ökad förståelse för hur standardiserade bedömningstjänster i arbetslivet kan påverka och motivera organisationer är viktigt ur så väl ett teoretiskt som ett praktiskt perspektiv. På en teoretisk nivå kan forskningsresultat bidra till den allmänna förståelsen om fenomenet standardisering, och på en praktisk nivå hjälpa företagare att bedöma och utvärdera standardens betydelse för den enskilda verksamheten.Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka och förklara hur standardiserade bedömningstjänster i arbetslivet kan påverka risken för felrekrytering, diskriminering och subjektiva bedömningar vid rekrytering och urval. För att uppfylla syftet genomfördes kvalitativa intervjuer med representanter från två företag som medverkar i nätverket för ISO 10667samt representanter från två rekryteringsbolag som i dagsläget står utanför nätverket.Resultatet av denna studie visar att ISO 10667 i viss mån kan minska risken för felrekrytering, diskriminering och subjektiva bedömningar vid rekrytering och urval.

The purpose of this Masters thesis is to study how three public libraries in the west of Sweden have arranged their fiction for adults on shelves and what the possibilities for fiction retrieval are in their Online Public Access Catalogues OPAC. The theoretical framework includes a practical part consisting of Jarmo Saartis ideas about shelf arrangement and a theoretical part consisting of Annelise Mark Pejtersens different dimensions. The methods used in the case study are three interviews with librarians, visits in the libraries and searching in the libraries OPACs. Furthermore, we have summarized relevant literature about this subject in a summary of research. The analysis shows that our three libraries have arranged their fiction in a traditional way according to Saartis ideas about shelf arrangement.

Commonly held dietary guidelines discourage full-fat dairy consumption due its to high levels of saturated fatty acids, which are believed to aversely influence cardiovascular disease risk. Cardiovascular diseases cause more than one third of deaths in the developed world. With dairy often providing a large part of energy and nutrients in Western diets, research into its effects on human health is warranted. Several recent studies have suggested a protective role of dairy in the development of cardiometabolic disease. However, many of these have used imprecise methods of dietary assessment, based on questionnaires or interviews. Biomarkers are emerging as a means of evaluating diet in a more objective way. Currently used dairy fat biomarkers are minor fatty acid constituents of dairy that preferably are unique to dairy and not influenced by endogenous metabolism.

Nedsatt talperception förekommer hos flera grupper barn som besöker audiologisk och logopedisk klinik. Dessa är exempelvis barn med språkstörning, barn med kognitiva nedsättningar, barn med hörselnedsättningar och barn med (centrala) auditiva bearbetningsnedsättningar (CAPD). För närvarande saknas standardiserade talperceptionstest som ger information om hur barn diskriminerar, identifierar och producerar språkljudskontraster i ord. Det är därför av stor vikt att utveckla diagnosverktyg för att öka möjligheten till ett reliabelt testförfarande och differentialdiagnostisering. Föreliggande studie hade 2 syften.

As the way of communicating and accessing information has changed radically over thepast decade so has the way the public libraries operate to reach the citizens. In thesetimes the demands of what a public library should be and offer the visitors havechanged. One should have the option to access the digital public library at any givenhour of the day, from anywhere in the world and at least have the same possibilities ofinformation as the visitors at the non-digital, "real" library.In this Master's thesis we will analyze and discuss the condition of the Swedish digitalpublic library of today, 2006, and the forward thinking work with the issues ofdevelopment in this matter. In order to do this we set out to examine the attitudetowards the public digital library among the staff at a small number of Swedish publiclibraries and their supporting institution, the county library. Moreover, the attitudesdefined have been compared to the actual status of the services and medias at the publiclibrary websites.In conclusion, we have detected a certain Standardization of what the digital publiclibrary consists of today.

År 2000 utvecklade Stockholms Byggmästareförening tillsammans med Sveriges Provnings- och forskningsinstitut, systemet BF9K som är en produktcertifiering för kvalitet, miljö och arbetsmiljö, speciellt anpassad till byggbranschen. BF9K har växt till ett relativt stort kvalitetssystem inom byggbranschen, med idag 61 certifierade företag och 21 företag som förbereder för certifiering.

The aim of this project has been to raise the production efficiency of Daliff Precision Engineering through reduced transportation time and a more standardized manufacturing process. The problem has upraised because of a big and diversified product flora without any standard products and with just small batches ordered. The report also tries to show the work procedure with general analytical methods and be an example of how a similar problem can be resolved. The transportation time is being proposed to be reduced through a change in the layout of the factory. By moving a few manual machines, dispatch and burring to more efficient locations, the total transportation time will be reduced by 55 %.
