Customers? force of negotiation increases as the global competition grows. One factor that becomes more vital to customers is the amount of quality Standard a company can offer them. Several factors are essential if a work of change will be considered a successful investment, where the change can be perceived in both a positive and negative way for an employee.

My starting point is the research program "Culture of ageing? and the theory that pensioners in the post- and late modern society conquer new potential areas. I am studying the meeting between pensioners and the gym. How the pensioners conquer the gym, relate to their training and what makes them stay after the first introduction.

This thesis investigates how different Linux-distributions installation interface relate to the ISO 9241 Standard, parts 12 and 13, and how they relate to the installation interface of Windows XP, with the hypothesis: "There is a Linux-distribution whose installation interface according to applicable HCIrecommendations is equivalent to that of Windows XP." With the checklists provided by ISO 9241 an empirical study has been made, and so comparable measurements of how well the Linux-distributions and Windows XP follows the recommendations of the Standard was obtained. By comparing the results from the tests similarities and differences between the installation interfaces can be deducted. As the result and the conclusion shows there are Linux-distributions whose installation interface, according to the applicable HCI-recommendations, are equivalent to that of Windows XP..

The high and seemingly increasing degree of consumer avoidance and disliking of television advertising breaks should raise many questions for commercially financed television networks as it can be argued that benefits sought by both viewers [seeking a fulfilling viewing experience] and advertisers [seeking advertising effectiveness] are eroded by this effect. This thesis studies effects on advertising effectiveness [RecallBRAND; AttitudeBRAND; AttitudeAD] as well as on the viewing experience [SatisfactionPROGRAM/CHANNEL; Attitude PROGRAM/CHANNEL; IntentionPROGRAM/CHANNEL] given a reduced degree of advertising clutter. By conducting an experiment two breaks are compared, one having the Standard primetime nonprogram time units (5 min and 30 sec *3?16minutes/hour) and the other the Standard nonprogram content cut in half (2.45 min *3 ?8min /hour).Results show that the reduced breaks award advertisers with higher commercial effectiveness. Measures of RecallBRAND demonstrates no differences between the Standard and the reduced break, implying a significantly increased likelihood to be recalled and an equivalently lowered risk to be forgotten in the reduced break.

Mankind has always been communicating, it is almost impossible to not communicate. The communication tree has grown a new branch, the environmental communication branch, and an ISO Standard, the ISO 14 063 Environmental communication- guidelines and examples was issued October 2006. The purpose of this thesis is commissioned by the managing director of NQA Nordic AB in order to examine and analyse how organisations communicate environmental issues today, and how big the need for ISO 14 063 actually is, and further more if there are needs and wishes to make ISO 14 063 a certifiable Standard. The main conclusion is that the there is a need for the Standard, but it is difficult to say in which form since the knowledge about the Standard is far to low among the organisations examined in this thesis. Clarity and transparency as ISO 14 063 promotes are important ingredients in organisations? environmental work, so sure a Standard for environmental communication can help improve environmental performance, for example through opening up for two-way communication and from that on take part of the stakeholders? opinions.This study is based on a literature study and a questionnaire survey where 70 organisations (in this case authorities, corporations and non-governmental organisations) randomly chosen from the seven criteria, which ISO 14 001 defines as the environment: land, water, air, flora, fauna, natural resources and man and his collaboration with those.

Detta gör att testning av integrerade komponenter och multikortsystem blir alltmer komplex. En förutsättning för att kunna genomföra effektiv testning är Standarder. Standarder över hur testning ska genomföras medför att en komponent som uppfyller kraven från en Standard är direkt utbytbar mot en komponent från en annan tillverkare som uppfyller kraven från samma Standard.

Nowadays Wireless LAN is playing a more and more important role in network systems. After 1999, in which the IEEE organization published its Wireless Local Network Standard 802.11[1], many people saw the advantages of the Standard but also the lack of support for multimedia streaming. A lot of research work has been done on the proposed IEEE 802.11e Standard draft during the past 4 years. It is supposed to be able to fully support Quality of Service. The final version will be published early in 2004.

I denna studie undersöks kontextuella faktorers inverkan på diskursen i en Standard, SS 624070, framtagen av det svenska Standardiseringsorganet SIS, Swedish Standards Institute. Undersökningen går igenom vilka premisser och faktorer som gör att diskursen i Standarden ser ut som den gör. Undersökningen omfattar även hur aktörerna ser på denna diskurs, och hur användandet av Standarden ser ut. Materialet består av intervjuer och texter som har analyserats utifrån diskursanalytiska begrepp. Med hjälp av intertextualitet och tematisering försöker undersökningen ge svar på hur kontextuella faktorer påverkar både hur denna diskurs skapas och hur den förstås.

Det här arbetet handlar om att göra en undersöka om de vanligaste webbläsarna Firefox och Internet Explorer om de har problem att skriva ut vanlig HTML-kod. Arbetet var utformat att hämta de vanligaste HTML-elementen och CSS-elementen från sex webbsidor. Det gjorde även en enklare fördjupning om varför webbsidorna avviker från Standarden från första början. De elementen som togs fram tidigare användes sedan i undersökningar som fem olika personer har deltagit i. Testerna gick ut på att personerna kollade på testsidorna i Firefox och Internet Explorer för att se om något skiljde sig åt mellan webbläsarna.

Transmission of digital signals is today more frequently used than transmission of analog signals. One reason for this is that a digital signal is less sensitive to noise than an analog, another reason is that almost all signals today are handled in a digital format. This thesis describes the development of a system that receives digital video signals through FireWire. The Standard for FireWire, which is a high performance serial bus, is under development. Today the Standard of the bus supports transmission of data with a speed of up to 400 Mbit/s.

Den svenska Standarden är som tidigare nämnt baserad på tillgänglighet och är inte alltid anpassningsbar till nya lösningar och komponenter som kan förekomma i badrum, vissa saker ändras, får nya funktioner, kanske utökade användningsområden. Syftet är att försöka utöka möjligheten att nå högre kvalité för badrummet och samtidigt försöka se till de alternativa lösningarna som kan åstadkommas idag.

The aim of this Master thesis is to study how management, teachers and librarians at the university college Swedish school of sport and health sciences (GIH) view information literacy (IL) as a Standard in higher education. I have used a sociocultural theoretical perspective, as the focus being on co-operation within the institutional context. The following questions are focused on: Of what importance are the control documents concerning IL as a Standard in the educational program? How do the respondents view the value of, and the responsibility for, IL as a Standard in the educational program? What are the conditions for co-operation at GIH to reach the Standards of the higher education act? The methodology used is qualitative case study. Six qualitative interviews were carried out in order to describe the attitudes of the management, teachers and librarians related to this subject.

The following degree project deals with the production of an ICC-profile, this in the form ofproducing ICC-profiles for VTAB Backa. The company previously had their own profile butthey weren?t satisfied, so earlier this year they started using the TU Standard profile, but theyalso wanted a complement to this in form of a profile created for solely their printing press.The separation settings used when creating the new profiles were based on information fromTU and their profile. Two basic profiles were created and then edited to obtain a better result.The test printings made with the edited profiles showed that the less adjustments that are made,the better. It was also discovered that the TU Standard profile eliminates the highlight toneswhiles the new profiles are somewhat darker.
