Betalaktamaser med utvidgat spektrum så kallade Extended Spectrum Beta-Lactamase (ESBL) är enzymer som produceras av bakterier och som har en avgörande roll ur kliniskt perspektiv då de blir resistenta mot de flesta antibiotika vilket leder till begränsade behandlingsalternativ. För att selektera fram dessa bakterier användes kromogena agarplattor vid odling, vilka selekterade bort jästsvampar och grampositiva bakterier och underlättar detektionen av ESBL-positiva stammar. Syftet med studien var att jämföra tre olika selektiva agarplattor CHROMagar ESBL, ChromID ESBL och CHROMagar C3GR genom att utvärdera deras specificitet och sensitivitet. Totalt användes 130 olika patientprover från feces, blod, sår och urin, vilka valdes ut slumpmässigt ur den rutinmässiga diagnostiken. Proverna odlades på de tre agarplattor.

Over the past 40 years 600 000 ha of lodgepole pine (Pinus contorta ssp. latifolia (Engelm.) Critchf.) has been planted in Sweden (280 000 ha on SCA's forest land alone which represents about 15% of the company's total forest land area). In the early 70's SCA situated a number of experimental stands in order to investigate different aspects of the exotic tree, primarily growth rate. To be able to compare the two species plots with scots pine (Pinus sylvestris L.), this species was also planted at the same time and under the same conditions. A number of questions should always be raised when exotic species are introduced in an ecosystem. Invasiveness, the pathogen situation and purely ethical issues should be discussed.

För att kunna göra goda prognoser måste man veta vilka makroekonomiska faktorer som påverkar försäljningen. Denna uppsats syftar till att med hjälp av en ekonometrisk modell undersöka vilka faktorer som påverkar försäljningen av nya bilar i USA. De data som används täcker perioden 1976-2004 och är på månadsbasis. Vidare görs en undersökning av huruvida säsongseffekter existerar i nybilsförsäljningen eller inte.

Personer med autismspektrumtillstånd har en nedsatt social förmåga och tidigare forskning har visat att dessa personer har ett annorlunda sätt att se på och tolka information uttryckt i ansikten jämfört med normalt utvecklade individer. Vi har i vår studie mätt förekomst av autistiska personlighetsdrag mätt med Autism-Spectrum Quotient (Baron-Cohen, Wheelwright, Skinner, Martin & Clubley, 2001) och minnesförmåga för ansiktsemotioner genom ett two-alternative forced choice test där bilder på ansiktsemotioner uttryckta i höger- respektive vänsterhalvprofil och uttryckta företrädelsevis i övre respektive nedre delen av ansiktet presenterades för de 71 försöksdeltagarna. Vi har kunnat visa ett negativt linjärt samband (r = -.30, n = 71, p = .013) mellan autistiska personlighetsdrag och minnesförmåga för ansiktsemotioner, där ett större antal autistiska personlighetsdrag var korrelerade med en sämre minnesförmåga. Vi fann också generellt en försämrad minnesprestation för de emotioner som främst uttrycks i övre delen jämfört med nedre delen av ansiktet (Wilks lambda = .494, F (1, 69) = 70.713, p < .0005, effektstorlek = .51), men däremot ingen signifikant skillnad för om emotionerna presenterades i höger eller vänster halvprofil. Inte heller framkom någon interaktionseffekt mellan autistiska personlighetsdrag, halvprofil och var i ansiktet emotionen främst uttrycks..

This essay aims to emphasize and clarify the positions that exist within the current globalization debate. The positions are the neo-liberal, the opponents, the pragmatists and the skeptics. The text presents and explains their ideological, moral and political positions and beliefs about the world, the nation state, the society and the individual; in light of Steven Lukes? and Antonio Gramsci's theories regarding the interaction and the relationship between power and hegemony. The methodological starting point is the ideology-critical analysis; in which their arguments in the current globalization debate is highlighted and categorized.

My work has been to create a magazine for iPad to explore this format, whichthere are mixed feelings about. Instead of seeing the digital format as an enemy ofthe printed magazine, I have chosen to see it as an opportunity.I have given myself the task of designing a magazine that can justify the useof the digital magazine. I have looked at the identity of the magazine, but mainlyexplored the format and its prerequisites.I was triggered to do the project when I saw people who are just making a pdfof the printed magazine and publish it digitally. I have during my work discoveredhow near or far away you can be from the printed magazine.The format of the iPad has multiple aspects to look upon; one that turned outto be clear in my project was navigation. Working with a spread has its problemsand opportunities; the same applies to an article that is larger than a screen.

Due to the wide usage of different databases administrated by the Swedish government to keep control over its citizen?s the issue has arisen concerning if this information is subject for other purposes then originally acknowledged. Executives induced in recruitment for labour has over the years extended their need for information accumulated by these systems. Especially data from the criminal records registry are now being used as a normal step in the employment process among a vastly growing spectrum of enterprises and businesses all over the country. This thesis aims to illuminate the subject by grasp to what extent the described behaviour can be considered legally accepted according to the law or if these actions are inflicting with the foundational juridical principles that has to be ensured by the Swedish government due to our constitutional law.A strict jurisprudential method has been applied throughout the entire thesis to ensure the reliability of the results. The diversity of sources has gently been put together to assure the overall quality.

The purpose of this paper is to find out which portfolio theory one should use during a financial crisis. We will examine two different portfolio theorys, the Minimum Variance portfolio and the beta portfolio.We have chosen to study two different portfolios, and followed their development during the financial crisis with its start in 2008 and the IT bubble with its start in the middle of 2000.The data has been collected from OMX internet database making it quantitative study. The beta portfolio's objective is to follow the index and the Minumim Variance portfolio´s objective is to spread the risk by investing in stocks with low volatility. By following the two different portfolios, and compare the development to the index, we will be able to determine which theory is most suitable to use during a recession. The studyperiods we chose were both in a recession and it turned out that the most appropriate portfolio to use was the Minimum Variance portfolio because stock in this portfolio tends to be less sensitive to economic fluctuations..

This paper deals with the use of Internet at Swedish public libraries. The author asks whether public libraries should or should not limit access to information available on the Internet. Starting from the American discussion, concerning Internet at public libraries, the author shows the Swedish attitudes. The paper demonstrates that many Swedish public libraries have adopted rules forbidding retrieval of certain kinds of information, such as hard-core pornography and racist propaganda. The persons in charge of such actions claim that public libraries should provide high-quality educational literature and should not spread mass-produced, provocative information.

The aim in this project was to spread play in the city and acrossgenerations. My way of approaching this challenge was to explore theborderland between playground equipment and street furniture. Thisopened up many possibilities to afford play in places where playgroundequipment often is excluded.The goal was to create one, or more, furniture with play value. The targetgroup was all vivasious people spending time in the public outdoorspace. Through user studies, a lot of serious playing and a lot of testing,the project resulted in a bench called Rollin´.

This study examines whether social media had an influence on the revolution in Egypt. Social media was an important tool for the revolution since the president Hosni Mubarak and the Egyptian regime strictly controls the media. However social media was not the determining factor for the revolution, the revolt evolved due to many underlying factors. Social media facilitated communication, made the mobilization effective and, spread information to the inhabitants and to the rest of the world. Abstract In the contemporary world of information technology you find a multitude of applications and systems covering a broad spectrum of areas of need in different companies. One effect of this multitude of programs is the difficulty to make them exchange information with each other or to collaborate, since they are developed by different programming languages for different platforms, with different standards and different data formats. Our aim with this work is to describe how it is possible to tie these programs together to make them actually communicate with each other in order to exchange information, share their native methods and also to become a part of the overall business processes. In this integration task you will, among other things, find different levels of application integration such as data level, method level, application interface level and user interface level integration. Application integration also involves hardware components, called middleware, that facilitate the physical connection between applications.

The purpose of this study is to examine which security approach dominates Sweden?s strategy for combating human trafficking. The two approaches covered in this essay are the state- centred perspective, and the individual-centred perspective. These approaches are being used because those two approaches are on each end of the security spectrum, and it is important to discover from what approach Sweden is working. This is important because it might help us to get a bigger understanding on why certain policies are being made.
