During the last few years, there has been a lot of debate regarding the price ofelectricity on the Swedish market. According to a recent survey from Sifo, anon-bias governmental institute for consumer research and testing, the priceof electricity is what worries Swedish households the most. An investigationof the eciency of the Nordic power grids inuence on the Swedish Spotprice is therefore both relevant and valuable. Three quarters of all electricityproduced in the Nordic region is traded at the Nord Pool Spot power market.This survey examines how much of the variation of the swedish Spot pricecan be descried by the variation of the nordic system price and how much iscaused because of ineciencies in the power grid. Primarily, linear regressionwith adjustments for endogeneity and heteroskedasticity has been used in orderto analyze data obtained mainly from Nord Pool Spot and Vattenfall AB.The results show that the variation of the system price can account for all butabout 40% of the variation in the Swedish Spot price.

The increased travelling of today makes nodes along travelling routes more and more important. This is very much the case of petrol stations. They constitute important nodes in the road network, filling up thirsty fuel tanks and hungry stomachs, guiding road users and providing vehicle-services. In this thesis the role of the petrol station for road users was investigated in order to find out if the petrol station was a potential hot Spot. We performed an ethnographic field study at a petrol station and found that a great number of visitor activities took place at the petrol station.

This study deals with the technical and economic feasibility of replacing the nuclear power plant reactor Ringhals 3 with a biofuel power plant. A technical investigation has been executed to determine which of the systems and components that could be reused and which ones would need to be replaced. The investment costs of the reconstruction have also been estimated. The cost of the electricity production has been calculated as well as the emissions of the new biofuel power plant. Based on the established rate of return, the lowest average Spot price of electricity that makes the investment profitable has been calculated.

This thesis is a report concerning the practical aspects on exhibition techniques. During an internship at the National History Museum in Stockholm I participated in the work with their new, temporary exhibition Gränslöst - en global utställning på Historiska museet [Boundless - a global voyage of discovery at the National Historical Museum]. I was part of a small project team of museum staff. The purpose of this exhibition was to show how cultures have met and influenced each other throughout history. The National Historical Museum has in its collections and exhibitions several examples of objects that has been imported from or inspired by other cultural areas.

I denna uppsats undersöks om terminspriset på el är snedvridet jämfört med det framtida Spotpriset. Undersökningen har fokuserats på elmarknaden och den prissättning som sker på den Nordiska elbörsen, Nord Pool. Först presenteras en teori om varför det finns en derivatamarknad och vilken betydelse den har. Vidare så förklaras vad som menas med Spot- respektive terminspris och därefter förklaras hur de förhåller sig till varandra utifrån ekonomisk teori. Sedan introduceras hur marknaden fungerar på Nord Pool och hur prissättningen sker av Spot- och terminspriset.

I denna rapport predikteras livslängden, med avseende på utmattning, för en hjullastarskopa. Två av de mest kritiska svetsarna utvärderas enligt IIW:s (International Institute of Welding) rekommendationer genom nominella spänningsmetoden, hot Spot-metoden och effective notch-metoden. Beräkningarna utförs med hjälp av finita elementmetoden. Genom att utföra töjningsmätningar på hjullastarskopan i drift erhålls spänningsdiagram. Dessa uppmätta spänningsdiagram analyseras med rain-flow count-metoden.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the relation between certain chosen fundamental factors (emission trading rights, hydrological balance, interaction with continental Europe, fuel prices) and the Spot price at Nord Pool. Particular focus has been put on the trade with emission rights since it is only now their actual impact on electricity prices can be studied. The relationships are measured with regression analysis which includes both R2 and the simulation possibilities of ARX models. The studied period covers 2008 and 2009 with partly daily data and partly weekly data. Owing to the expected higher importance of the fundamentals during the winter months the winter 2008/2009 has been studied separately.

Eco Log AB i Söderhamn är en tillverkare av skogsmaskiner. De tillverkar både skotare och skördare. På deras skördare sitter fyra pendelarmar som ersätter hjulupphängningen på fordonet. Dessa motverkar att fordonet lutar vid körning i sluttningar. Varje pendelarm drivs av en hydraulkolv som justerar nivelleringen.Då inga beräkningar med avseende på utmattning och livslängd genomförts sedan en omkonstruktion av pendelarmarna är det nödvändigt att analysera och utvärdera pendelarmarna.

This M.Sc. thesis is a material application evaluation commissioned by the advanced body engineering department at SAAB Automobile AB. The purpose of the thesis is to evaluate implementation of the innovative sandwich design material Hybrix into an automobile body. Today the most commonly material used in the body is galvanized steel sheets and by shifting material to Hybrix several problematic issues have to be dealt with. Hybrix is an innovative sandwich sheet that inherits thin stainless steel face sheets and a stainless steel fibrous core.

I  en värld  med ökande energibehov och stora miljö på frestningarär  förnybar energi en lösning som skulle kunna tillgodose  alla behov.  En sorts  förnybar energi är  solcellsenergi,   men solcellsanläggningar kan  vara  svåra  att  få ekonomiskt  lönsamma  i  Sverige.  Detta del projekt är  en del i  ett större  projekt vars gemensamma  mål är  att utföra  en lönsamhetsalanys  på en tänkt solcellsanläggning  i Stockholm.  Må let med detta delprojekt är  att undersöka hur mycket elsom en solcellsan läggning pa? Kungliga Tennishallen i Stockholm kan producera då anläggningen antas vara 100% tillförlitlig. I delprojektet  undersöks även värdet av elproduktionen om den säljs på Nord Pool Spot eller den summa som sparas genom att förbruka elen. I den ekonomiska analysen studeras möjligheter för  prissäkring, osäkerheter i den framtida elmarknaden  och olika bidrag. För  att uppskatta  produktion  och vinst har en litteraturstudie utförts, och gemensamt  med övriga delprojekthar  en övergripande  lönsamhetsanalys  utförts.

Denna rapport är resultatet av ett examensarbete, på 20 högskolepoäng, som har utförts på Scania CV AB, Tekniskt centrum, Södertälje. Examensarbetet behandlar Side Blind Spot Detection och har resulterat i ett prototypsystem som detekterar objekt i döda vinklarna på sidorna av en lastbil. Systemet är ett aktivt säkerhetssystem som syftar till att förhindra olyckor och ge ökad trafiksäkerhet på vägarna. Examensarbetet har varit tvådelat för att uppnå detta mål. Denna rapport behandlar främst val av sensorteknik för att upptäcka objekt i de döda vinklarna på sidan av en lastbil.

This thesis aims to evaluate the concept of Uncovered Interest Parity. The parity states that the logarithmic difference between domestic and foreign interest rate equals the logarithmic difference between expected future Spot exchange rate and the Spot exchange rate, . In defining the exchange rate it is often presumed that the parity relation prevails even though several studies suggest the opposite. Numerous economists maintain that the theory?s shortcomings can be explained through the existence of a Risk Premium.

För små till medelstora företag (SMEs) vars kännetecken är bristande resurser kan konsekvensen av ett felaktigt etableringssätt vid internationell expansion vara skillnaden mellan överlevnad och konkurs (Kuo & Li 2003). Etableringar på utländska marknader kan genomföras via en rad olika etableringssätt. Två av dessa kommer att behandlas i denna uppsats; export och joint venture. Det amerikanska SME-företaget Pro Spot tillverkar svetsar till bilverkstäder och önskar expandera på den europeiska marknaden. Vårt syfte med denna uppsats är att belysa de alternativ Pro Spot står inför på den europeiska marknaden, utvärdera dessa samt ge en rekommendation.

The initiative for this project was taken by Benteler Engineering Services, as a result of having identified areas of improvement, in designated accessible areas like the wheelchair Spot onboard buses. Depending on a wheelchair to be able to move around can understandably be challenging.Public transport is a common good in today`s society, however despite the measures taken towards adjusting to accessible needs, the majority of those being disabled chose different alternatives of transportation. This is due to reasons such as the drivers' poor attitude, furthermore the limitations of the space allocated to accessible needs, as people with strollers also use these Spots onboard. Also, some wheelchair users find the rides unsafe, as they could easily fall over during without the appropriate space for them onboard the buses etc. These are only a few reasons why other options are sought out, i.e.
