Syftet med uppsatsen var att förstå hur Ultimate Fighting Championships (UFC), en amerikansk kampsportstävling startad 1993 i USA, har legitimerat sin verksamhet, från att ha varit starkt kritiserad, till att nå framgång och internationell spridning. I sin linda under 90-talet gjorde dessa brutala, i princip oreglerade och slagsmålsliknande former, att tävlingen möttes av kritik från politiskt håll, vilket kom att hota organisationens överlevnad.UFCs legitimeringsprocess under 90-talet fram till en bit av 2000-talet visade på tydliga paralleller till boxningen, som under 1800-talet även den hotades av illegalitet. Så har också Norbert Elias och Eric Dunning, med bland annat boxningen som exempel, beskrivit hur (teorin om) civilisationens process påverkade fritidsaktiviteter till att bli vad vi idag kallar för sport. Avsnittet med historisk bakgrund över bl.a. boxning ämnar visa på dessa paralleller, med fokus på sporternas nära stundande illegalitet till förmån för en verksamhet som tvangs att bli mer reglerad och kontrollerad ? mer ?civiliserad?.Det som hotade UFC var dock inte direkt sett illegitimitet, utan utfrysning och hot från de medel som kunde styra sportens visibilitet, dvs.

The purpose of this study was to compare Glasgow/ Scotland and Malmö/ Sweden concerning their efforts towards youth unemployment, in sense of the social policy related to the organization. We have particularly concentrated on; the direct and indirect political strategies for young unemployed; what specific efforts that are provided on a local level; finding explanations to the design of these efforts and describing the development of youth unemployment and labour market- policies in each country. We have based our study on literature studies and six qualitative interviews conducted with representatives from different organizations and the municipality in Glasgow and Malmö. The outcome of our essay showed some differences in the political strategies. Scotland work closer to the employers and labour market compared to Sweden whose policy more promotes education.

This essay outlines a perspective for study of managers, from an employees point of view. The study was preformed at one private company, and the empirical data was gathered from five employees. Title: Music and adult identity: A study of how students at Malmö Academy of Music look upon their identity from a musical point of view. This study is about adults and how they look upon their identity from a music perspective. I have interviewed four students between 26 to 29 years old at the Malmö Academy of Music. The purpose with my study is to examine how music has affected the identity of the students as adults and to see if their identity still is affected by music. The interviews have then been analyzed and compared with existing research in this matter.

The aim of the study is to get a better understanding of leader's reactions in a crisis situation, and to examine whether locus of control and coping strategies can be related to leaders need for social support. The role of a leader in a crisis situation is complex and includes several aspects which must be illustrated to understand the leader's situation. Four leaders have participated in the study. The methods that have been used are questionnaires for measuring locus of control and coping and semi-structured interviews. The results show that search for social support cannot be seen as an outcome of a specific locus of control or coping strategy.

This essay examines whether feminist theory can give a plausible answer to the question: does female and male students have different attitudes towards the labour market and towards wages? Further more, I examine if factors such as class and ethnicity affect student's attitudes. These questions are investigated through a quantitative study of students at four educations on two different universities in Sweden. Two of the educations have a high degree of female students, and the other two represent educations with at high degree of male students.The main conclusion is based on the quantitative research results. This is a descriptive paper based on a questionnaire- and literature study regarding how dogs are trained, what type and frequency of injuries that occur as well as how the dogs are best prepared for work. Using the results from the questionnaire, an overview is given on how members of Working dog clubs train their dogs and what kind of injuries that occur most frequently. The average age among the dogs included in the study was only about three years. This could indicate that older dogs are not trained in the same extent as young dogs. The results show that only a third of the dog owners warmed up their dogs before training.

In this essay the morphing of the interstate relations in the post-World War II Western Europe is taken in to consideration in discussing how these relations were stabilized and consolidated through community cooperation to achieve a state of stable peace. It concludes that the early 1900's of Western Europe comes close to being conditioned by Herz's security dilemma and then continues to analyze the development from this state to one of stable peace. The purpose of this thesis was to examine women's shelter representatives' views on domestic violence in same-sex relationships between women. The questions we posed were how women's shelter representatives relate to same-sex domestic violence, both from a theoretical and practical perspective, as well as if they are, or feel they should be, inclusive of women who are victims of same-sex domestic violence.We conducted a qualitative study, in which we interviewed eight women's shelter representatives. We then compared and linked our findings with previous research, including studies on the occurrence of same-sex violence, and ideas of similarity and differences between men's violence against women and same-sex domestic violence. We also linked our findings to theories on heteronormativity and structural theories surrounding same-sex domestic violence.We found that the competence and knowledge of women's shelter representatives varies greatly from individual to individual. Heteronormativity permeates the organisations to a great extent, from exclusive marketing and initial reception to a lack of interest regarding these issues.

I denna studie analyseras gymnasiekatalogers bilder som beskriver tre gymnasieprogram (Barn- och fritidsprogrammet, Byggprogrammet och Naturvetenskapsprogrammet) ur ett genusperspektiv. Syftet är att undersöka huruvida bilderna ger uttryck för den könsuppdelade gymnasieskolan genom att visa det kön som är i majoritet på programmet.Resultaten visar att representationen av det kön som är i minoritet är högre på bilderna än den faktiska representationen på programmen i stort. Dock syns en tydlig skillnad i hur tjejer respektive killar porträtteras och i vilken miljö de befinner sig. Budskapet katalogerna sänder ut är att tjejer och killar bör välja, om inte olika program så olika inriktningar. Ett exempel som visar detta är Barn- och fritidsprogrammet där det nästan uteslutande är tjejer som visas med barn medan killar oftare befinner sig i utemiljöer där sport och friskvård är inblandat..

Denna uppsats baseras på fältarbete i efterkrigstidens Bosnien & Hercegovina och handlar om gränsöverskridande samarbetsrelationer inom ramen för kvinnoorganisationen Zene Zenama. För en mer nyanserad illustration av organisationens multidimensionella samarbete utgår jag ifrån intersektionalitetsperspektivet som teoretiskt ramverk och huvudsakligen intervjuer som empiri. Jag söker även förstå kontexten och få svar på vilken betydelse kriget har för organisationen samt hur olika jämställdhetsfrågor legitimeras. Min analys visar att krigets betydelse inte kan underskattas i organisationens kamp för jämställdhet, vilken inte heller står helt opåverkad från det transnationella ekonomiska stödets premisser. Samtidigt som krigets konsekvenser verkar enande i kampen för kvinnors rättigheter och i stärkandet av en regional identitet tenderar de även att utesluta andra erfarenheter av utsatthet som inte direkt är förknippade med krigets förödande följder..
