This study used a qualitative interview design to explore the experiences of seven Swedish female elite athletes and their career retirement. The athletes were engaged in three different sports; track and field (athletics), handball and golf and five of them are former professional or semi-professional athletes. The process of their athletic role exit was based on the theoretical findings of Ebaugh (1988) and her four phases: First Doubts, Seeking Alternatives, The Turning Point and Creating the Ex-Role. The findings reveal that for these female former elite athletes Seeking Alternatives already starts before the First Doubts and that possibly the athletes at an early stage have insights of the discontinuity of their athletic career. The importance of transferring their role residual to future paths in life was stressed among the female athletes in order to be able to have a smooth transition process.

Denna rapport behandlar ett examensarbete inom integrerad produktutveckling som utfördes av Andreas Carlsson och Marcus Ronnheim vid Designingenjörsprogrammet på Högskolan i Skövde vårterminen 2008. Examensarbetet var att utveckla Casall Sports Products viktskivor, viktlås samt viktställ för bodypumpviktskivor. Bakgrunden till uppdraget var att Casall tyckte att deras, redan nämnda produkter, var föråldrade och behövde ett nytt utseende samt att viktstället saknade vissa fördelaktiga funktioner. Rapporten beskriver hela produktutvecklingsfasen från förstudie till produktionsritningar.Under förstudien gjordes bl.a. en marknadsundersökning och användarintervjuer, detta resulterade i en kravspecifikation.

Today sportsclubs are important actors in the work with promoting public health in Sweden. Sports have unique opportunities to reach out with messages to many people with diffrent backgrounds. In many respects sport- and clublife could be looked upon as health promotiv activiteis. It is not just the health of the individual that is affected by sportslife but also the community take advantage of active people in clubs. Partly through a healthier population and partly because clubs educational role in teaching democracy and solidarity to its members.

The method is based on a quantitative content analysis, and critical discourse analysis in which I use van Dijk's analytical approach. Issues :1. ABSTRACT Author: Johan PetterssonTitle: Customer Loyalty in the Swedish men's elite football - a study with IF ElfsborgPurpose Increase understanding of how to increase customer loyalty when it comes to Swedish elite football. Method A qualitative study using semi-structured interviews for deeper access to the what the people I interviewed feel about the subject. The interviews are conducted with IF Elfsborgs club president Stefan Andreasson, Goran Lohne who works with media and events, and Eric Sjölin who are supportercontact. In addition to those I alsointerviewed the supporters club Guliganernas President Anders Hultin. Analysis and conclusion The first impression and attitude is very important when a person goes from a one-timebuyers into loyal customers. This is both the theories and the interviewees opinion. Through staff training and records of how the club would like the first impression and attitude to be the clubs can reach a good level of first impression. Med anledning av forskning som visat att dålig fysisk form i barn- och ungdomen är förknippat med sämre hälsa i vuxen ålder, var denna studies syfte att kartlägga Skellefteå ungdomars relation till föreningsidrott. En enkät delades ut till slupmässigt valda skolor och bestod av frågor rörande när och isåfall varför de väljer att sluta med föreningsidrott, samt vad det är som gör att de som fortsätter med föreningsidrott? Data från 196 deltagare analyserades statistiskt. Resultaten visade att ungefär 55 procent av deltagarna slutat med idrott och medeåldern för avhopp var 14 år. De tre vanligaste anledningarna till avhopp var ?Jag tappade motivation?, ?Annan aktivitet/intresse tog min tid? och ?Tråkiga träningar?.

My purpose with this thesis has been tostudy the intersection between Landscapearchitecture and Land Art. They both relateto the landscape in some way whetherit is to the urban landscape or thenatural landscape.What tangent points are there betweenthese two subjects, and can you learnsomething of the artists approach to thelandscape?Land Art is an art movement that began inthe late 60?s, what links are there to thecurrent landscape?Last summer, I travelled around the U.S.for a month and visited the three classicLand Art projects. Lightning Field in NewMexico, by Walter De Maria, Sun Tunnels inUtah, by Nancy Holt and the Spiral Jetty,also in Utah, by Robert Smithson.The sites where visited from half a day upto 24 hours and was described and analyzedwith text and photographs.To visit these sites has been crucial formy thesis and will affect my future workas a landscape architect. The use of themethod has been a thought of mine for along time, particularly to analyze ordescribe a landscape with images.

Syfte: Studiens fokus var att undersöka hur det ser ut i Sveriges elitklubbar i ishockey, fotboll och handboll när det kommer till den interna coachutbildningen i klubben. En genomgång av respektive idrottsförbunds egna utbildningar ingick också i studien.Metod: Två frågeformulär skickades ut där klubbarna (där oftast sportchefen svarade) fick svara på frågor angående intern coachutbildning och utbildning via idrottsförbunden. Det första formuläret var generellt inte utformat för någon specifik klubb medan det andra formuläret som sändes ut var baserat på klubbens svar från formulär ett.Resultat: Fyra av åtta elitklubbar har en utvecklad coachutbildningsplan och sju av åtta anser att utbildningarna som ges via respektive sports förbund har en hög kvalitet. En klubb av åtta menar på att deras coacher inte är så pass bra utbildade som de önskar de vore.Slutsats: Mer fokus bör läggas på utbildning av coacherna för att höja kvaliteten på dessa på områden såsom beteendevetenskap, psykologi och coaching. Fler klubbar bör internt arbeta mer aktivt för att utbilda sina coacher och kvaliteterna dessa ska ha.

The purpose of this Master?s thesis is to study if teenage fiction, published in Swedish during the course of one year, matches what boys in eight grade claim they want to read about. The background for our work is a survey initiated by Lärarnas Riksförbund, Läsa för att lära, in 2005. The conclusion drawn in Läsa för att lära is that many children, especially boys, lose their interest in reading when they become teenagers. Information on fictional books for teenagers has been collected from Bibliotekstjänst.

I vårt samhälle skiljer sig uppväxtvillkoren för barn och ungdomar mycket åt. Socioekonomiska förutsättningar påverkar barns liv och deras idrottsvanor. Syftet med vår studie är att belysa på vilket sätt elever från två olika klasser och områden med olika social status, har för förhållningssätt till idrotten på fritiden kopplat till skolämnet Idrott och hälsa. Undersökningen genomfördes som två olika fallstudier. Vi valde att undersöka en skola i varje område.

The traditional lawn is believed to be facing a dilemma. On one hand, it is valuable for people because of its esthetical and functional values. On the other hand, the lawn is perceived as a monoculture without biological diversity that hinders the domestic landscape?s flora and fauna. In this graduation-thesis, the private and public lawn?s dilemma of ?to be or not to be?, is examined from these two different perspectives.

In 1970 professional boxing became illegal in Sweden and in 2009 the prohibition was removed.Just before both of these changes in the law there were debates in media where people argued forand against ilegalization. In the later debate the focus has shifted from professional boxing toinclude Mixed Martial Arts(MMA) as well. MMA was governed and bound by the same law asprofessional boxing.This purpose of this paper is to compare the debate in 1968-1969 with the debate in 2006. The twodebates resulted in two different outcomes, ilegalization of professional boxing in 1970 and thenlegalization of it 2009. Are there any reason for these differences? What is the reasoning behindthis? By using hegemonic masculinity as a guidance when examining the debates this paper istrying to understand how the discourse have changed over time.

In the last decade the Italian authorities have tried to adapt themselves to a united European asylum system, in the European Union, through the adoption of legal reforms, intended to improve the conditions of asylum seekers in Italy. Despite these reforms, asylum seekers and refugee?s living conditions are far from covered. The aim of this study is to explore the different functions of social work in the Italian reception process regarding unaccompanied minors and their implications on the wellbeing of the unaccompanied minors. This study was conducted through several interviews with both social workers, which in some way worked with unaccompanied minors, and the unaccompanied minors themselves.

In the United States, see recommendations for cardiac safety of sports arenas but also to health and fitness facilities. However, this does not exist in Sweden today. Objective: The purpose of this study is to identify the health- and fitness facilities today are equipped with respect to cardiac safety and specifically relating to preparedness for cardiac arrest. Method: Quantitative data are collected and compiled with the help of a questionnaire. The questionnaire contained 19 questions in total.

Syftet med studien var att undersöka om studenter tror att deras fysiska aktivitetsnivå idag påverkats av ett medlemskap i en idrottsförening som barn, samt ta reda på deras egen upplevda aktivitetsnivå idag. Det är en kvalitativ deskriptiv undersökning och därför var intervjuer den mest lämpliga metoden att använda. Individuella intervjuer gjordes med tretton studenter på en högskola. Det framkom i resultatet att deltagarna hade inställningen att den fysiska aktivitetsnivån som äldre, kunde ha påverkats av ett medlemskap i en idrottsförening som barn och unga. Detta troddes bero på bland annat den positiva känsla som idrottande gav och som gjorde att fysisk aktivitet upplevdes som något bra och roligt.
