Sammanfattning Handeln har i alla tider varit stadens viktigaste funktion. Både direkt och indirekt har handeln varit den viktigaste stadsbildande faktorn, men kommunikationsmöjligheter och placering har också haft betydelse. Sverige har alltid legat långt framme vad det gäller strukturomvandlingar för handeln. I början av 1900-talet var handeln förlagd till kvartersbutiker och saluhallar och till stadens torg. I flesta fall var det gångavstånd till butikerna och väldigt få hade tillgång till bil.

Rapid urbanization causes competition over land use between green area preservation and urban development in cities and greatly affects ecosystems as well as human well-being. This conflict is significant all around the world as many cities are now replacing existing green areas with new developments. The area around Dag Hammarskjöld's väg in Uppsala is currently experiencing the same conflict, as the need that the city has for new housing represents a threat for the many valuable green areas that are in the site. The purpose of this project was to understand how the need of urban development and the preservation of green areas could be balanced. This understanding would thereafter be used to make a design proposal for the area around Dag Hammarskjöld's väg.

Opaltorget pekades redan i forskningsrapporten Lokala torg från 2004 ut som en plats i stort behov av förändring. Processen, som sedan pågått från att ett behov av en ny detaljplan identifierades till att ett planförslag slutligen presenterades på samråd under november och december 2009, har varit långdragen och komplicerad. Många av aktörerna som varit engagerade i planarbetet har deltagit redan under ett tidigt skede, medan ett par involverades först efter det att arkitektfirman BIG tagit fram ett gestaltningsförslag och det hunnit bearbetas. Synpunkterna som aktörerna hade på gestaltningen har i mitt arbete jämförts med Jan Gehls, Gordon Cullens och Kevin Lynchs principer för gestaltning och rumslig organisation, för att se om aktörernas förslag och synpunkter kunde härledas till en gemensam grund eller princip. Dessa tre teoretiker fokuserar på gestaltning av stadsrummet och inte så mycket på gestaltningen av själva byggnaderna, vilket gjorde att arbetets tyngdpunkt lades på utformningen av de offentliga platserna. Gehl, Cullen och Lynch har dock angripit planeringsfrågorna olika. Gehl har definierat de principer som är mest optimala att använda för att skapa en vital utomhusmiljö, det vill säga liv mellan husen.

During thousands of years, reindeer have adapted to living under harsh conditions with large seasonal variations in climate and forage availability. This adaptation implies that body functions and nourishment needs are strongly bound to the season. In the summer the reindeer has to maximize food intake to build up fat and protein reserves for the winter. More than 200 different plant species are included in the reindeer diet, but since reindeer have an unique ability to use the nourishment in lichen, different lichen species make up a large portion of their winter diet in many areas. Fundamental for reindeer husbandry is access to natural grazing during most of the year.

Beroende på föreställningen att ett blandat boende förväntas ge människor bättre levnadsförutsättningar, råder ett planeringsideal som har intentionen att göra boendemiljöer mer socialt blandade och mindre boendesegregerade (Holmqvist 2009). Samtidigt kan man idag se att boendesegregationen ökar. Syftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka och beskriva begreppet blandat boende och vilka möjligheter man har inom fysisk planering att planera för ett blandat boende, minskad boendesegregation och en ökad mångfald. De mer konkreta frågeställningarna handlar om vilka verktyg som finns att tillgå inom fysisk planering och på vilket sätt man kan planera för ett blandat boende, minskad boendesegregation och främjande av mångfald vid nybyggnation. För att uppnå uppsatsens syfte och besvara frågeställningarna används fallstudie som strategi. En utbredd uppfattning är att blandat boende leder till bättre integration.

Idag används affärssystem inom de flesta verksamheter. Syftet med att använda sig av ett affärssystem är att det ska stödja verksamhetens handlingar och bidra till effektivitet inom organisationen. I dagens läge har de flesta verksamheter infört eller tänkt införa/byta ut ett affärssystem vilket ibland inte är så lätt. Införandet och användandet av ett affärssystem kan potentiellt leda till många förändringar. Jag kommer att med denna studie påvisa vilka faktorer verksamheter behöver ha med sig för att lyckas med ett affärssystemsinförande men samtidigt ta upp vilka fallgropar man ska se sig för vid införandet.

De flesta kommuner i Sverige arbetar idag på något sätt för att minska biltrafiken. Så även Göteborgs stad som menar att ?biltrafiken ska minska till förmån för resande med kollektivtrafik och cykel?. Upp till hälften av restiden med kollektivtrafik tillbringas på bytespunkten, ändå är det en plats som lätt glöms bort. Syftet med den här uppsatsen har varit att undersöka vilka aspekter som påverkar bytespunktens attraktivitet samt att genomföra en fallstudie på två bytespunkter i Göteborg. I fallstudien har bytespunkterna Hjalmar Brantingsplatsen och Marklandsgatan undersökts. Detta har gjorts med hjälp av en checklista skapad efter den forskning och de teorier som nämns i uppsatsens kunskaps- och forskningsöversikt.

In order to respond to a more complex community planning with increased cooperation and public participation, a common language and a common model to be used as a base for the communication process is needed. The thesis behind this dissertation for a master's degree is that a virtual 3D planning portal would respond to this need. Why and how are explained and described through studies of communication- and perception theory as well as technology and recent research. The introduction concludes that a broad participation and a transparence towards underlying information are important foundations for the coming work with the model. The first four chapters of the theory part show the benefits of using natural signs in our mixed cultural society, instead of the more arbitrary symbols. Using visual landscapes for storing information is motivated by the flexibility of our visual memory and its ability to understand complex connections.

This is the end report of my final exam at Medieteknik. It covers the planning, work process and review of a Flash based web application that I set out to do. The goal was to create a user friendly, interactive e-shop with embedded functionality for playing music, displaying rich media content and researching possible payment solutions, to enable buying music files online. The project involved creating the user interface, the programmatic functionality of a Flash client (an SWF file). Also, setting up an Apache HTTP Server and establishing a working ?bridge? between the Flash client and the web server with Flash Remoting components and AMFPHP.

The aim of this master's degree dissertation is to compile examples of different ways of planning, implementing and following up the organisation of two integrated libraries, which serve both the general public and the school. In order to respond to this, we formulated the all-embracing question: How best can the integration of libraries for schools and the general public be planned, implemented and followed up? This formulation gave rise to four further questions. In order to answer these questions, the problem formulated and our basic aim, we have studied the relevant literature on school libraries, libraries for the general public, and integrated libraries. These sources comprise official reports on this theme, dissertations, and more topical articles.

The forest industry is one of the most important industry branches in Sweden. Since the demand of high precision wood deliveries has increased, the demand on a well constructed forest road net also has increased. A good road net gives the wood-supplier competition advantages and also increases its service level towards its customers, lumber-mills and pulp-mills. In some parts of Norrbotten, the road net is still insufficient and not yet built out enough, and that is why it is important to know how to act and where to improve the road net in these areas. The purpose of this thesis was to create a work-model for long term road planning in areas with no road net or a not yet complete road net. The model has been created in an ArcGis environment, where a long chain of tools has been tied together with the program ?Model builder?.

The purpose of the present thesis is to investigate the interaction between the branches in the different villages and its users and the importance of the branches for democracy. To illustrate these points, I have focused on Högsby municipality, a local council in Kalmar county. Högsby municipality is of particular interest in this connection, since all seven of the branches have been closed recently; only the main library remains. Moreover, three of the closed branches were, in 2005, taken over by citizen organizations local to the part of Högsby municipality where the libraries were located. The specific issues that were addressed were:- What needs were satisfied by the local libraries in Högsby council and is it possible to satisfy these needs in other ways and then, how?- Does the absence of a local library affect democracy?Interviews were performed.

Of all observable societal trends, the proliferation of standardizing processes is striking. Auditing standards are an illustrative example of this. Not only privately owned companies must today make available numbers and key figures to satisfy needs of information and knowledge. Government agencies are increasingly conforming to this trend, adopting standards for quality assurance and monitoring, producing numbers and annual reports ? despite their somewhat ambiguous task and role.

The aim of this study has been to explore local cultural policy documents in some municipalities in the geographical region of Västra Götaland. Do the municipalities have these kinds of documents for their local cultural activities, and how are they designed? These are questions which the study has focused on. The study has been concentrated on the library activity in the local cultural policy documents. The research has been a comparative one.

Relationship marketing is an important part of the new view of communication strategies. The theories around this subject has a general and global perspective on how to manage relations and communication problems. But somehow the local perspective is forgotten. In this thesis we have focused on the local market and which demands it has on the work with relationship management. The purpose of this thesis is to find out how relationship marketing can contribute to create a high valued brand on a local market.
