This essay deals with risk management and social risks, which have received increased attentionin recent years. Methods for dealing with social risks, for example within local Risk andvulnerability assessment (RSA), are currently under development. The purpose of this paper is toexamine if and how social risk can be quantitatively assessed and mapped using GeographicInformation Systems (GIS). The definition of social risk that the essay is based on states: "Theprobability of unwanted events, behaviors or conditions originating in the social conditions thathave a negative impact on the objects that are worth to preserve.? A number of social riskindicators that can be used for a spatial analysis have been operationalized based on thisdefinition.

The aim for this study was to investigate if it is less stressful for cow and calves in loose housing systems when separation is made so they can see and touch each other (Physical Contact-PC) instead of just hearing each other (Hearing Contact-HC). The behavior of eight cow- calf pairs (n=4 pairs per treatment) on an ecological dairy farm with cubicle housing were studied for four hours directly after separation and four hours the day after separation. The first four cows that gave birth were used for treatment PC, and the following four cows that gave birth were used for treatment HC. The only selection criteria used was that both cow and calf were healthy. Separation took place 3-4 days after birth and the calves were put separately in two different pens while the mothers were let loose into the cubicle system.

Natural disasters are becoming more common due to climate change and it is important to adapt the society and its infrastructure to withstand events such as extreme rainfall. Precipitation is an important climatic factor affecting the transport and annually generates the cost of millions in damages, over the past 40 years heavy rain has increased and will continue to increase in the future. The extreme rainfall that occurred in Kramfors municipality in September 2013 led to flooding and destroyed several roads, including highway 90, which recently both had been rebuilt and given a new stretch of road. Extreme rainfall had also occurred in the municipality earlier.  The aim of the thesis was to examine how the Swedish Transport Administration handles new knowledge gained after natural disasters and how this is used in the planning of new roads.

Beroende på föreställningen att ett blandat boende förväntas ge människor bättre levnadsförutsättningar, råder ett planeringsideal som har intentionen att göra boendemiljöer mer socialt blandade och mindre boendesegregerade (Holmqvist 2009). Samtidigt kan man idag se att boendesegregationen ökar. Syftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka och beskriva begreppet blandat boende och vilka möjligheter man har inom fysisk planering att planera för ett blandat boende, minskad boendesegregation och en ökad mångfald. De mer konkreta frågeställningarna handlar om vilka verktyg som finns att tillgå inom fysisk planering och på vilket sätt man kan planera för ett blandat boende, minskad boendesegregation och främjande av mångfald vid nybyggnation. För att uppnå uppsatsens syfte och besvara frågeställningarna används fallstudie som strategi. En utbredd uppfattning är att blandat boende leder till bättre integration.

It is becoming increasingly important for companies to meet customer demands due to intense competition in today's global market, that forcing companies to improve their offerings and become better at managing their supply chain (Shen et al., 2006).  Long lead times can be reduced by using different methods and strategies shows various researches. Lead times occur in the planning, production, inventories and handling of products (Treville et al., 2003).The aim of the study is to develop a method to analyze the factors that affect the length of internal delivery lead time in manufacturing companies. The method also included suggestions for reducing delivery lead-time to internal customers.The main factors that influenced the length of the on delivery lead times has summarized to make a selection among the factors that can have the most significant impact. The selected elements will be used as a method to analyze how these areas affect a company?s length on internal delivery lead times.The study shows that the causes of the long delivery lead times was the location of the customer order point, uncertain forecasts, long material and production planning time, and long waits in the production and storage.The delivery lead time, according to this report?s suggested improvements reduced by centralizing CODP and makes more reliable forecasts.

Det är ett relativt nytt begrepp inom den svenska planeringen. Den kommun som i Sverige jobbat mest aktivt med fickparker är Enköping. Parktypen kan vara användbar i takt med att städerna förtätas.

The primary focus of this Master thesis is to study how industrial house building can be implemented during production of rental flats under the terms of public procurement. In order to determine a suitable working process as well as presenting a possible architectonic result of the process, a case study is carried through.A housing projekt is designed on a site i Malmö, where the commisioner is MKB Fastighets AB and the contractor is NCC Komponent with the industrial building system NCC Komplett. The focus of the design is to accomplish high quality apartments to a resonable price, as well as solving the overall scheme for the site.The housing projekt, Kv. Flaggskepparen, built on the consept of a single house model, used to handle the entire site, shows that the building system is well suited to accomodate the commisioners demands.In order to reach the best possible architectonic result with the building system, cooperation initiatded in an early stage of the process is neccesary.A model is proposed to handle the situation under the terms of public procurement. The model suggest that the geometrical design is mainly carried out after inquiry and that architectonic qualities should mainly be defined in a non geometrial way for inquiry..

The aim of this thesis in Archival Science was to explore the concept of electronic archives and the challenges that might be encountered when attempting to move archives into a new digital age, as well as having a closer look at the term e-archive itself. Another aim was to explore how the OAIS reference model works in practice.To explore these questions I decided to do a case study on E-Arkiv Stockholm, a functioning e-archive. I decided to do a study on several documents that were created throughout the project, these included documents related to the planning of the archive, as well as the final report. My reason for this method was that these docu-ments came straight from reality and would give a clear and unbiased view of the project and it?s many aspects.Examination of the documents showed that the OAIS reference model and its concepts had been the foun-dation of much of the planning.

This master thesis presents a Model for Evaluating and Managing Interruption Risks in connection with Business Continuity Planning (BCP), developed for Swedwood International. The model consists of a template with instructions. The model should be easily understood and useful for establishing a plan for BCP. This is achieved by including the contents and procedure of BCP and the main supplychain risks in the model. This thesis explore women?s needs when reentering society after having served a sentence at the female prison Färingsö, outside Stockholm and whether those needs are being met in the reentry strategies that are being provided. Parallel to this the thesis also examines if there, based on nonconformity and gender theories, is a socially constructed representation of women maintained in the rehabilitation work.The method of this thesis applied semi-structured interviews and used snowball sampling to expand the network of informants to obtain the data necessary. Totally five interviews were carried out. Previous research has shown that women in prison have much more complex problems than men and that there is a need for reentry strategies that take gender in account.The results showed that in terms of being able to reenter back in society, women needed help to structure a previously chaotic life.

HSB Göteborg owns and manages the property Masthugget 11:13 also called the Corvette in Gothenburg. The Corvette contains mostly office space but also shops, homes and garages. HSB Göteborg utilizes approximately 5000 square meters to its headquarters but in December 2014 they will move operations to Johanneberg Science Park. This is a bachelor thesis about arable land in Varberg, from sustainability and it?s relation to local government and management. Arable land has become more important as a natural resource from a global point of view and in concerns of higher demands of food supply, as a result of population growth, higher consumption worldwide and climate change. But the arable land in Sweden is being exploited an increasingly rapid pace and the arable land in Varberg is not an exception of this development. The issue is most topical and the discussion holds questions about a declining agricultural sector, the formal and administrative protection of arable land and because other interests of land use often is given higher priority in community development and planning.

Syftet med detta examensarbete har varit att studera möjligheterna att förbättra kollektivtrafiken mellan Bengtsfors kommun och Trestadsregionen (Vänersborg, Trollhättan och Uddevalla) så att den blir attraktivare för arbetspendling både på kort och längre sikt. Tanken är att examensarbetet skall utgöra en del av ett beslutsunderlag för den framtida kollektivtrafikutvecklingen då den utgör ett viktigt verktyg för att ge människor större möjligheter att bo kvar i Bengtsfors genom att erbjuda bättre förutsättningar att ta ett arbete på annan ort. Restiderna mellan Bengtsfors och Trestadsregionen är idag allt för långa för att vara attraktiva för arbetspendling. Bengtsfors kommun har de senaste tio åren genomgått omfattande förändringar i näringslivet, som inneburit att mer än 1200 arbetstillfällen försvunnit från ett fåtal stora tillverkningsindustrier. Det är därför angeläget att bromsa utflyttningen från kommunen.

Debatten om matfett är ständigt aktuell och i stort sett dagligen så matas vi med olika aktörersåsikter om vilket fett som är att föredra. Ska vi äta omättat eller mättat fett? Vilket matfett ärdet mest hälsosamma? Fokus i denna studie har varit att synliggöra den professionellapedagogens förhållningssätt till matfett och vilka olika strategier som lärare i hem- ochkonsumentkunskap har använt sig av i sin undervisning relaterat till matfett. Studiens syftevar att synliggöra och analysera hem- och konsumentkunskapslärares skilda förhållningssättrelaterat till matfett i undervisningen med utgångspunkt i perspektiven hälsa, ekonomi ochmiljö. Studien bygger på kvalitativa intervjuer samt observationer med lärare i hem- ochkonsumentkunskap på högstadiet.
