Flexibel ljudinspelning för talkvalitetsanalys
This report describes how wavefiles can be recorded with programs written in the C++ language . The report also describes how the recorded Sound is handled before it can be analyzed. The report describes the different parts that make a wave file to a wave file and how Windows handle these files. There is always some silence or noise of unknown length that passes through the system before some interesting Sound arrives. That silence or nose must not be recorded and therefore some function must be developed that can detect interesting Sound or speech.

Noise music is created around Sounds not often welcome in a musical context. Since the birth of electronic music in the 1950s a new perspective on composing has emerged. In electronic music, Sounds and their timbre are as much important as melody, harmony and rhythm. This composing perspective is not often observed. Therefore I have examined a musical genre that stretches the boundaries of what we consider music, Sound, noise, beautiful and terrible.

This essay examines the criteria for a peaceful cemetery. First there is a short history of the Swedish funeral place. After that follows the definitions of a peaceful place according to environmental psychology. From these definitions an analysis method is constructed for identifying a peaceful cemetery. The analysis method contains six criteria, shape of the entrances, existence of Sound, vegetation character, the cemetery?s demarcation, the cemetery?s management and what feeling the cemetery mediates.The analysis method is put into practice on three cemeteries, Överklinten cemetery, Stockholm forest cemetery and the old cemetery in Malmö.

Background: From a public health perspective it is of great interest to prevent the risk of noise induced hearing loss, because in addition to hearing loss, tinnitus and Sound sensitivity also may lead to other health problems. About 1,4 million people in Sweden live with some form of hearing loss and 25000 of them are children under the age of 16. Studies have shown that hearing loss among adolescents is increasing and it is often associated with Sound environments in their leisure time. Lectures in hearing prevention has been conducted in schools for adolescents but have not reached the desired results. Objective: To enquire caregivers? attitude, behaviour and perceived knowledge about Sound exposure and its risks.

Vårt resultat syftar till att skapa grunden till en svensk standardisering av de existerande teorier och metoder för gestaltning av akusmatiska ljud i film. Hur låter det? : Elgitarrlärares syn på att undervisa i sound och utrustning
Föreliggande uppsats har som syfte att ta reda på vilken syn elgitarrlärare på estetiska gymnasieprogram har kring förmedling av Sound och utrustning och vilka metoder de tillämpar för att lyfta fram dessa moment i sin undervisning. Sound kan definieras på många sätt, men i detta arbete har det en innebörd av vilka klanger som olika instrument, förstärkare och diverse hjälpmedel kan producera. Målet är att ge nuvarande och blivande instrumentpedagoger en inblick i hur elgitarrlärare arbetar med dessa moment i undervisningen idag. Förhoppningen är även att studien ska kunna ge inspiration till att utveckla metoder och finna redskap som hjälper elever att skapa ett eget Sound. Datamaterialet består av intervjuer med fem elgitarrlärare samt observationer av tre av dessa lärares gitarrlektioner.

HÅRDROCKSSÅNG: Soundet, tekniken, medvetenheten : En kvalitativ studie av professionella hårdrockssångares röstanvändning
Detta examensarbete handlar om hårdrockssångares medvetenhet när det gäller sångteknik. Syftet med arbetet är att få kunskap om vilka tillvägagångssätt de har använt sig av när de skapat sitt Sound och hittat sin teknik. Den teoretiska utgångspunkten för studien är det sociokulturella perspektivet. Tidigare forskning inom området behandlar traditionell röstlära, mer moderna sångskolor och socialkulturella normer gällande inlärning. Jag har använt mig av den kvalitativa forskningsintervjun som metod och mina informanter är verksamma inom området.

Purpose: To examine the hearing environment for tattoo artists regarding occupational noiseand to see whether tattoo artists are exposed to hazardous noise according to Swedish WorkEnvironment Authority regulations. Method: Using a dosimeter we measured a total ofseven sessions of approximately one hour on seven different subjects, located on five studiosin Gothenburg. As a complement we did also hand out surveys based on twelve questions toexamine habits, experienced Sound environment and to see if there were any hearing relatedpatterns. Results:. Sound level measurements showed that the lower exposure action valueLpAeq,8h 80 dB(A) in one case was reached if applied to the average working time of sixhours.

Today's urban centers become denser, which contributes to higher demands on Sound and noise. It is therefore highly relevant to build homes with good Sound environment while maintaining living space. This thesis aimed to reduce the current concrete walls and see how the mass law affects the reduction index value and flanking transmissions. Handmade calculations were calculated according to the Swedish standard SS-EN 21354-1, where only air Sound was calculated.Calculations were performed on wall elements with different weights and thicknesses, and compared with results from Bastian.In Bastian calculations of flanking transmissions were also made, this was made to see the impact of the flanking transmission when changing the mass per unit area. Mass law's impact was examined by flanking transmission and the result shows that they are not affected as long as the ratio between the thickness and the density remains the same.A questionnaire survey was conducted to determine the actual Sound experience; this questionnaire was conducted on three concrete buildings in Växjö.

They make it possible to distribute information and have it easily accessible. Ljuddesign för rumsmetaforbaserade talgränssnitt
In this paper, a navigation support approach for speech-only interaction based on auditory icons for room-based designs is presented, i.e. naturally occurring Sounds that have a natural mapping to the system's underlying design metaphor. In contrast to many recent investigations that have focused on multi-modal or augmented reality systems, this paper concerns a unimodal speech and Sound-only system. An auditory icon based prototype system for buildings maintenance support using a room-based metaphor was developed. The design was evaluated in a comparison with earcons and no-Sound designs.
Public Hear Aid
This project started when LIC Audio AB wanted help with development of a hearing aid for public rooms. The problem is that a lot of people suffer from some sort of hearing impairment. In places with a lot of people and background noise the problem becomes bigger and the Sound seems to flow together. During the project we found the solution for the problem in the shape of a headphone. The headphone receives a signal from a preinstalled hearing loop.
Brasslärares tankar om, och inställning till, att undervisa på olika instrument
This study is based on discussions among Swedish brass teachers about teaching other brass instruments than their main instrument. Why do some choose to teach only with the help of their main instrument while others use their secondary instruments as well? What are the advantages and disadvantages and how do they look upon other ways of thinking in this matter?In addition, the study examines brass teachers? views on the balance between pedagogical and instrumental skill, as well as their views on teaching Sound, technique and expression in relation to the age of the student.A questionnaire was used and anwered by 24 teachers with teaching experience in municipal music schools ranging from 7 months to 35 years. The results indicate that pedagogical skill is always important, whereas the importance of instrumental skill increases as the student gets older and more experienced. The advantage of teaching with the help of the main instrument is that one always keeps a high musical and technical level.
