Databases are an easy way of storing information kept together and accessible and can save time by finding the information easier. Cochleaimplant could be seen as a form of advanced hearing aid, this product consists of two parts, an external part that recieves sound and sends signals to the internal part through electromagnetism. The internal part is the implant itself and is surgically placed in to the cochlea. Örebro University hospital has just started working within the field of Cochleaimplants and are therefore in need of a database to store patient related information.The database problem was solved using Microsoft Access 2003 combined with the built-in support for Visual Basic, which is a sort of programming language. The result of the thesis work was a fully functioning database according to the given specification and is now being used at Örebro University hospital..

The project is about making a Re-Design of the Swedish Socialistic Newspaper ?Dagens ETC?. The background to the project is my search for commitment when I work with a specific customer or project and how importantthat commitment are?The project was from the beginning split up to three different phases. The meaning of the first phase where to make a re-design mainly based on a interview with Johan Ehernberg, the chef editor on ETC.The second phase was a design totally made of my own idea and creative view as a Graphic Designer.I had in mind to make the third phase based on the result of the first two phases.During phase one and two I reconsidered and decided to skip the third step and put more effort in to the two first ones.

This study concerns design thinking and how to achieve usability when designing applicationsfor smart watches. The study's focus is on interaction and design for online auctionapplications such as Ebay and Tradera. After studying usability and design for devices withsmall screens, guidelines and design principles for interactive systems, we developed apaperprototype for an auction application. The prototype was used for testing our intervieweeswhile observing and asking questions. After collecting the data we analyzed the responses andfeedback on our prototype and combined the results to previous studies.

I detta arbete har vi försökt skapa en metod som skulle kunna hjälpa ljuddesigners inomindieföretag att med begränsade resurser komma fram till en kvalitativ ljuddesign genom attanvända en form av återvinning. Syftet med vår metod, som vi kallar för pantametoden, går utpå att återvinna ljudmaterial med hjälp av effekter för att skapa nya och kreativa ljud som går attanvända i en produktion. Vi kommer att gå igenom de nödvändigaste delarna för att visa hur vitillämpat vår metod, exempelvis vilka verktyg som finns och hur de kan användas för att uppnådet resultat som eftersträvas. Metoden har testats på två stycken spel som vi har varit med ochutvecklat, och där vi har bidragit med ljuddesignen med hjälp av vår metod. The IT industry is constantly evolving and it's more or less a requirement today for web developers to be familiar with and to be able to develop for all platforms. A technique that has taken hold and is now widely used is responsive design. Developing responsive design means adapting the layout to the viewing environment; the screen size. Another useful method when developing for different devices is the mobile first theory, which means developing for the mobile screen first. This is done to scale down the site and to clear unnecessary information in order to provide a better user experience.

Rock singing - five vocal teachers´ experience of the female voice.The purpose of this study is to find out what different vocal teachers have to say about rock singing and the female singing voice. The method I have used to gather information is a phenomenographically inspired qualitative interview. The study begins with a few thoughts about my interest in rock singing, followed by a short overview about other research and literature that has been published on the subject. I have interviewed five vocal teachers in this study. All of them with many years experience of singing, both singing themselves and teaching professionally.

Effects of climate change, urbanization and global homogenization are resulted in the degradation of land and losses of natural habitats. Ecological design integrates nature into urban environment by respecting natural ecological principles and processes and creating resilient urban biotopes which also can be used by local urban communities. The aim of the thesis is to answer the research questions: How ecological design principles can be applied for re-design of Toledo Riverfront (with requirements of the design competition)? and What is the ecological design in landscape architecture? I participated in the USA design competition with the aim to create a vision and redesign of Toledo Riverfront in Ohio State, USA. The site is located in the south point of Lake Erie. As a result of a long industrial activity, riverfront of Toledo had been transformed into inaccessible and abandoned brownfields. In my proposal I applied ecological design principles on three scales: the city of Toledo by reinforcing of ecological connection and creating green corridors along the river; the intermediate scale by suggesting public parks along the river front and on the fine level by proposing detailed design including remediation of the site and use of dredged material.

Every year, more than 300 riders are seriously injured and over 40 die in road accidents. Being found in time is critical to increase the chance of survival. Den här uppsatsen behandlar ett konstnärligt projekt där fem låtar inom rockgenren skrivits och spelats in av en och samma person. Syftet är att utvecklas på sitt huvudinstrument, i det här fallet trumset, genom att spela in låtarna och spela samtliga instrument själv. Undersökningen fokuserar på varför man kan ha nytta av att bemästra andra instrument för att bättre förstå sitt eget. Loggbok har förts under hela processen för att kunna kartlägga vad som lett fram till nya upptäckter och insikter.Många duktiga musiker har det gemensamt att de bemästrar fler än ett instrument. Att gå in i de andra ensemblemusikernas roller ger individen en bredare koll på helheten.

In this study we are seeking to discover the norms in the design of logotypes and how they havechanged over time. To achieve this we have chosen to analyze the logotypes of twenty companies withthe largest expenditure on advertising in Sweden. We mapped chosen design attributes within the logoto discover the similarities and then we selected the five oldest brands to analyze how their logos havechanged over time. The design changes in the logotypes over time is can be related to the changingattitudes of the general public and the designers ambitions to draw on convention to create iconic designthat will spark brand-recognition. However many changes can?t be directly explained through changesin convention.

Syftet med studien var att få ökad insikt och förståelse för lärande av pop- , rock- och soulsång. Speciellt intresse ägnades moment i sångundervis- ningen som berör stilenligt sound, sväng och personligt sound/uttryck, och undervisningsmetoder som kan vara lämpliga. Efter granskning av forskning i böcker, tidskrifter, artiklar och sidor på Internet utfördes intervjuer av tre aktiva sångpedagoger i Sverige som arbetar med den populärmusikaliska genren som utgångspunkt. Resultatet visar att elever kan lära sig att sjunga pop och rock stilenligt och med sväng främst genom att lyssna och härma förebilder och föregångare inom stilen, samt genom att eleverna får möjlighet att träffa en pedagog som kan vägleda eleven på ett fruktbart sätt i hans eller hennes utveckling. Det är också av intresse att eleverna får lära sig att reflektera över vad det är de hör i musiken, vad de tycker om och inte, och finna sin egen identitet inom stilarna.

Water constructions - as a design element in public spaces is the title of this Master thesis, with a focus on waters function and meaning in the urban environment. By way of introduction, mans relationship to places is described and the factors that contribute to the reality that we prefer some places more than others. A good place to stay is open but well defined, gives protection, offers a good view and is varying in topography and vegetation, together with contents of single landscape elements like visible water. This study then continues to discuss mans relationship to water and its means for our wellbeing. Despite the fact that people have a different relations to water due to personality, background and age, it?s an element that raises positive feelings, interest and aesthetic pleasure for most people.

This project has been about making a design suggestion for a boat accessory that adjuststhe distance between a sail-or motorboat and the dinghy, which is connected by a rope inthe stern. Today this is all done by hand and can lead to problems when it comes tostressful situations such as harbors and narrow passages.A company called Sailsafe came up with the idea and the construction, which they alsohave tested. I found them through an acquaintance at Dacat AB where I did an internshipin the fall of 2010.Using sketching as the primary tool I?ve worked in an almost-real design project with theaim to develop my skills and give the company a relevant design suggestion.
