In this study my aim has been to discover what connections can be made between the way of creating a library building and the general values concerning the library activities and the library users. What kind of ideology could possibly be reflected in a library room? My study includes two different parts. First of all there is a theoretical section based upon literature relevant for the subject. Here I try to focus on the libraryÕs role in society as a public room.

SAMMANFATTNINGSyfte: Syftet var att beskriva sjuksköterskors och undersköterskors dokumentation och uppfattning om dokumentation av vätskebalans vid postoperativ vård på en ortopedisk vårdavdelning före och efter ett undervisningstillfälle.Metod: Studien som genomfördes var en kvantitativ interventionsstudie med en enkätundersökning och journalgranskning. Interventionen bestod av undervisning i ämnet vätskebalans. Enkätundersökningen genomfördes före och efter utbildningen med 11 respektive 8 deltagare. Före och efter utbildningen granskades 60 patientjournaler (n=120).Resultat: Enkätundersökningen visade att sjusköterskorna och undersköterskorna ansåg att arbetet med vätskebalans var viktigt för patienten, men en förändring i avdelningens rutiner var önskvärd. Ingen förändring i uppfattningen om arbetet med vätskebalans kunde ses hos sjuksköterskorna och undersköterskorna efter utbildningen.

Syftet med studien var att granska hur smärta och smärtbehandling hos barn under 12 år med lårbensbrott dokumenterades enligt Socialstyrelsens föreskrifter i omvårdnadsjournalen på akutmottagningen på Mora lasarett. En retrospektiv journalstudie genomfördes på journaler tillhörande de barn med lårbensbrott som vårdats på akutmottagningen under en femårsperiod. Studien omfattade totalt 38 journaler. För att granska dokumentationens kvantitet och kvalitet användes en modifierad granskningsmall och granskningsnyckel CAT-CH-ING. Utifrån dessa kunde dokumentationen poängsättas och frekvensen av dokumentationen rörande smärta och smärtbehandling beräknas.

The aim of this Master's thesis is to examine what effect two different models of acquisition have on user satisfaction with information resources at academic libraries. The two models examined are the traditional model where a subject specialist librarian makes the selection, and the user-governed model where the larger part of the selection is based on user requests. The scope is the libraries of Roskilde University, which employs the traditional acquisition model and Malmö University, which employs the user-governed. Both libraries have a user-oriented approach to acquisition. The study encompasses a close examination of the acquisition policy through document analysis and interviews with the librarians in charge of acquisitions at each university, as well as a user-satisfaction survey among the professors and senior teachers on two faculties at each university respectively.

This is accomplished through a comparison between the platforms and by considering the possible areas of use for the mobile platforms based on experiences from companies and research in the area.For a company with the intent to deliver services that use mobile platforms, it is important to be able to combine expertise and resources to effectively attract customers. The information society creates new demands on the knowledge making individual; besides being literate one has to be information literate. And in the educational society there is an ongoing change from teaching to learning, the focal point being the active student and life long learning. The aim of this dissertation is to within a context of learning and teaching elucidate the relation between user education and subject education by examining what significance the academic libraries user education has for the development of information literacy within students. Some epistemological theories connected with learning is presented as well as aspects of the information search process and of information literacy. Universities and their libraries view of information literacy and the goal of their user education is being focused on in an empirical study.

The processes in an IT-project requires technical competence to be present among the project participants to ensure the achievement of business goals and to make organisations competitive. Micronic Laser Systems AB produces and develops machines for the photo mask production market. One of their products is the Omega machine which exposes photo masks using 5 laser beams simultaneously. It is important that the distance between the each laser beam, the x-separation, is the same. The x-separation is today measured by exposing a photo mask with a certain pattern and thereafter measured with a metrology system. This takes to much time and it is desired to find a faster method to measure the x-separation without loosing precision.The task for this master thesis is to improve an existing measurement method which uses a calibration mask.

This study investigates the individual usage of the Dublin Core metadata format in three Swedish Subject Based Information Gateways, SAFARI, Svenska miljönätet and Svesök. The authors also present the reader with an overview of the metadata concept and explains in particular the Dublin Core Element Set. The approach to the study is investigation of Dublin Core application from the viewpoint of three major issues, user friendliness, interoperability and quality control. The study includes an in-depth comparison of the three different metadata templates, as well as interviews with people in charge of the metadata production at the respective SBIGs and users of the respective SBIGs« templates. The study shows that the three SBIGs are more similar than they are different.
