Friårreformen genomfördes i hela Sverige vid årsskiftet 2004/05 med två huvudsyften, att underlätta för arbetslösa att komma in på arbetsmarknaden och att erbjuda arbetstagare möjlighet till ledighet. Reformen har väckt stort intresse, hos arbetstagare och i media. Många artiklar har skrivits om de positiva effekterna men även negativa sidor har lyfts fram. Syftet med denna uppsats är att försöka uppnå en förståelse för de motiv och övervägande som ligger bakom valet att ta ut friår sett ur ett arbetstagarperspektiv. Syftet är också att i viss mån ställa detta mot arbetsgivarens syn på friårsledighet.

The purpose of this thesis was to study descriptions of companies on their webpages on the Internet. This was performed from a socialconstructionist point of view with focus being on subject positionings and gender. A critical discourse analysis was carried out on two texts from the webpages of two organizations on the Internet. Using the three dimensional model for critical discourse analysis by Fairclough, the discourses and subject positionings that the texts included could be revealed. The purpose of this thesis was also to point out the importance of the use of language in recruiting personnel and to hopefully encourage organizations to put effort into text production to avoid discrimination.

När en ungdom misstänks för att ha begått ett brott kommer han eller hon i kontakt med rättssystemet på olika vis. Rättsystemets uppgift i detta sammanhang är givetvis att skipa rätt. Vidare är dess uppgift även att hjälpa den unge tillrätta i samhället igen.Min avsikt med arbetet är därför att ge en bild av hur ungdomsbrottslingar behandlas i rättssalen av de olika aktörerna för att se huruvida behandlingen kan sägas överensstämma med den allmänna, common sense, uppfattningen om hur ungdomsbrottslingar ska behandlas och om denna behandling överensstämmer med lagstiftarens intentioner. Jag ämnar också beröra hur aktörerna kan sägas känneteckna och klassificera ungdomsbrottslingen och lägga upp sitt arbete i behandlingen. I detta sammanhang blir det speciellt intressant att se om de följer några givna mönster inom rättsväsendet som kan ses som meningsfulla för samtliga aktörer.

The definition of procrastination can be described as a behavior with deliberate postponement of tasks or commitments despite expected negative consequences for the individual and his or her environment. This study examined how widespread this behavior is among students in higher education in Sweden. Using a web-based survey, data was collected for analysis. A statistical program, SPSS, was used for evaluation of the collected data. The purpose of this study was to examine whether there are differences in the degree of procrastination between students located on campus versus students who do their education at distance.

The following study was undertaken in the spring of 2005 in Helsingborg, Sweden.It presents a study of the experience and values six young couples have related to parenting and gender equality. Twelwe people, six women and six men, were interviewed about the above mentioned topics related to their new found role as parents. How did these women and men choose to assign or elaborate their role as parents in terms of household chores and parental leave? Did they consider their parenthood to be equal or did they feel that their role as parents had already been assigned based on their gender? What were the decisive factors, if any, that determined their parenting roles?Although this study is relatively limited, the results are compatible with other published studies and indicate that young parents of today, without consideration to their gender, have a traditional view on parenting. The study also indicates that the attitudes seem to be established by traditional values, norms as well as sexualgender.

The aim of this master thesis is to examine readers? advice in weblogs - frequently modified web pages with a series of archived entries. We have chosen to study a specific kind of entry that contains information about a book of fiction- not for children and young adults - and the bloggers? comments regarding that same book. The entries are published in ten weblogs that all deal with literature and reading.

Facebook har öppnat upp för ett helt nytt sätt att kommunicera, och de flesta har en åsikt om det, om de använder sig av Facebook eller inte. Olika personer använder Facebook på olika sätt. Syftet med studien är att undersöka hur informanterna upplever att användandet av Facebook påverkar dem i deras vardag. För att uppnå syftet användes metoderna deltagande observation och kvalitativ intervju med sex Facebook - användare. Vid observationerna studeras vad informanterna faktiskt gör på Facebook, medan de i intervjuerna får möjlighet att berätta hur de själva påverkas av Facebook. Resultatet visar att informanterna hade någon form av hatkärlek till Facebook som gör att de både irriterade sig på det samtidigt som de inte kan hålla sig ifrån sidan, vilket är en av studiens viktigaste slutsatser.

Syftet med detta arbete är att undersöka samtalet om sexuella handlingar mellan män i muslimska traditioner och försöka se vad dessa handlingar betyder, socialt, religiöst och kulturellt, samt var de står i relation till allmänna normativa värderingar som grundar sig i familjeliv och andra sociala konstruktioner.Ambitionen är att jämföra kristen borgerlig kultur som ligger till grund för Foucault's resonemang om makt och sexualitet med muslimsk religiö's kultur. Kan man hitta kopplingar mellan kulturella yttringar, religiositet och dessa sexuella handlingar? Är dessa sexuella beteenden bundna till en vis's kultur? Och vad är det då i kulturen som bidrar till dessa uppfattningar om sexuella uttryck och handlingar. Finn's det sociala mönster i form av patriarkala strukturer som påverkar dessa handlingar's uttryck och påverkar i såfall de patriarkala mönstren till att sexualitet mellan män blir till ett maktuttryck?(utdrag ur uppsatsen's "Syfte och frågeställning").

The aim of this thesis is to map the research area of scientific collaboration within Library and Information Science LIS. The purpose is to find out who is doing research in this area, who they cite and if they get cited by other scientists outside of LIS. Scientific collaboration is an interdisciplinary research area with researchers from different disciplines such as LIS, human-computer interaction, psychology and Sociology. We have concentrated our study to North America, Ireland, Great Britain and Scandinavia. In order to find researchers, we visited the websites of all universities with library and information science faculties in the chosen countries.

This thesis analyzes the media debates generated by the election of Omar Mustafa to the board of the social democratic party, and the appointment of the conservative Minister of Labour, Elisabeth Svantesson. More specifically, the aim is to analyze newspaper material through a discourse analyze, to see if and how religious affiliation effects the possibilities to act as a political representative. Theories of othering and intersectionality serve as theoretical points of departure. Further, chains of equivalence from Laclau and Mouffe?s discourse theory are used to study how categories as ?us? and ?the other? are constructed in the material, and how these processes of categorization relate to the intersection of religion, gender and ethnicity.

This Masters thesis concerns a series of ten police procedural novels, Roman om ett brott, Novel of a crime, by Maj Sjöwall and Per Wahlöö. These books are among the most translated Swedish novels and have been popular among audiences and critics all over the world. The books were produced 1965 1975, a period during which a left wing movement swept over the Western world. Besides from being detective stories Novel of a crime is an analysis of contemporary society, and this thesis will focus on the social and political ideas and the criticism expressed in the books. Theories used in this study are the Sociology of Literature and the Analysis of Ideas.

The purpose of this study was to explore if and how the Swedish Supreme Court are using the concept ?the child?s best interest?. This concept is used a lot in Swedish legislation, but it needs interpretation every time it´s used and is often perceived as unclear. This makes it interesting to see how this affects the individual child´s legal rights. Furthermore I want to see if the Supreme Court listen to the child´s own opinion and if not, are there any justifications to why not.

Den här magisteruppsatsen behandlar två perspektiv på ledarskap som jag kallar för statiskt och kulturellt. Det statiska perspektivet handlar om att betrakta ledarskapskompetenser som oföränderliga och därför samma i alla situationer. I kontrast till detta står det kulturella perspektivet som handlar om att betrakta ledarskapskompetenser som processer. Syftet i den här uppsatsen är att påvisa att dessa två ledarskapsperspektiv förekommer och att i en empirisk kontext pröva de här perspektiven för att se om och hur de får stöd av deltagarna i studien. Genom den hermeneutiska metoden har jag intervjuat fem deltagare som är svenska ledare med många års erfarenhet av ledarskap. De respresenterar olika branscher och företag.

This is a study of seven men that have suffered from a cruel punishment. The punishment involved getting their ear/ears cut off, prison with more torture and their families being deported from their homes to another town.My sample involved seven Iraqi men who suffered from this punishment during Saddams regime, they got this punishment because they refused to fight against Iran and Kuwait. I went to Iraq and met with the men in person and did interviews with them to understand the effect of the punishment on their personalities, and how the punishment have influenced their lives and interaction with other people in the society and around them.The study focuses on their suffering and how they have been able to live with this stigma. The method the study has used is the kvalitative method that involved interviewing them in their country Iraq and analyse their answers and then come to the results. My study was between 26 of March 2004 to 26 of April 2004.My study is based on the theory of social interaction and especially the symbolic interaction theories of G.H.

Studiens syfte var att undersöka hur unga människor ser på arbete och arbetslöshet. För äldre generationer är arbetet förutom en källa till försörjning även en stor del av individens identitet, och att sakna arbete innebär ett socialt utanförskap. Har arbete samma betydelse för dagens ungdomar, eller har den höga ungdomsarbetslösheten medfört en normförskjutning så att en arbetslös inte uppfattas som avvikande? För att få svar på frågan intervjuade vi nio ungdomar, såväl arbetslösa som arbetande och stu-derande, om hur de ser på saken. Vi utgick från ett induktivt perspektiv inspirerat av grundad teori, där vi eftersträvade en öppenhet inför empiriska data som framkom i våra intervjuer.
