Pupils learn in different ways. It?s up to the teachers´ to give pupils the knowledge they need to live and work in society. The teacher should be aware of the ways of children learn in the classroom and should teach accordingly. Pupils work individually but should even be offered some kind of group work regularly.

Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka om medverkan i Ellen-projektet i Linköping hade någon betydelse för tjejer i årskurs åtta med avseende på deras self-efficacy, deras självkänsla samt deras kroppsuppfattning och då närmare bestämt kroppsmissnöje.Sammanlagt ingick 42 tjejer i studien, vilka hade anmält intresse att medverka i Ellen-projektet. Experimentgruppen utgjordes av 25 tjejer som deltog i projektet, de resterande 17 fungerade som kontrollgrupp. Studien var av kvantitativ karaktär och tre självskattningsskalor användes för att mäta self-efficacy (GSES), självkänsla (RSES) och kroppsmissnöje (FRS). En för- respektive eftermätning genomfördes med åtta veckors mellanrum.Resultaten visar på en ökad grad av self-efficacy samt självkänsla för experimentgruppen. För kroppsmissnöje uppnåddes inga signifikanta skillnader mellan experiment- och kontrollgrupp.

Jag har studerat frågeställningarna: existerar det en barnbokskanon i förskolan, hur ser den i så fall ut och efter vilka kriterier är denna barnbokskanon konstruerad? Jag har med ett cultural studies perspektiv använt en kombination av metoder, som litteraturanalyser, empirisk studie och litterära näranalyser samt beaktat delar av olika vetenskapliga områden, som litteraturvetenskap, pedagogik och psykologi i en barnkulturell kontext. Utifrån analys av tidigare forskning, och utlåningsstatistik hävdar jag att valet av barnböcker följer ett konventionellt mönster. Den bilderbokskanon som framgår i min uppsats är inte estetisk eller pedagogisk, eftersom den inte grundar sig på litterära och konstnärliga eller pedagogiska kriterier. Valet av barnböcker i bildandet av en kanon tycks istället utgöras av vuxnas föreställning om hur barn och barndom ska vara.

In this essay, I have examined what has been studied and presented in the theory of ICT in schools. I have based my theory on Arne Trageton?s book Att skriva sig till läsning ? IKT i förskoleklass och skola (2005) and theories on children?s reading and writing development.The purpose of this study is to determine how teachers and children experience teaching with Trageton?s ICT-based model Att skriva sig till läsning and whether the model is beneficial for children's first reading and writing.Through qualitative interviews with two pedagogues from the same school and some children from first grade, I have received answers to my two questions:How do pedagogues and children experience ICT-based teaching in the context of children's first reading and writing?How do pedagogues experience the reading and writing development in first- and second-language students when using ICT-based teaching?The results showed that both pedagogues and children were positive about the model in which the computer was used as a writing tool in learning to read and write. The teachers felt that the model was suitable for all children according to their conditions.The children saw the writing as very enjoyable. For the ICT-based teaching to work properly, the technology has great significance.

Enligt tillgänglig statistik besöker män bibliotek i lägre grad än kvinnor, de lånar och läser färre böcker än kvinnor och köper färre böcker än kvinnor. Syftet med detta examensarbete är att belysa varför män inte nyttjar bibliotek i samma utsträckning som kvinnor med hjälp av psykologiska förklaringsmodeller och utifrån resultatet ge underlag för åtgärder för att öka mäns besök och nyttjande av bibliotek. Om inte bakomliggande orsaker till varför män inte nyttjar kommunens bibliotek klarläggs, finns risk för att mäns fortbildning och samhällsengagemang avtar med den påföljden att demokratiprocessen och jämställdhetssträvandena får stå tillbaka. Examensarbetet har gjorts i form av en litteraturstudie med begränsningen att inget empiriskt underlag fanns att tillgå för att undersöka problemområdet. Arbetets bidrag ligger i att belysa hur könsidentiteten, dvs.

The aim of this case study was to investigate the role of leadership and interpersonal relations among staff during implementation of lean at a University Hospital in Sweden. The 15 respondents were leaders and staff members from different wards and clinics, who had started working according to lean principles. One of the methods used was explorative, low structured interviews. Other methods used for gathering information about the case was attending lectures about lean healthcare at the hospital, part-taking in the lean game and reading articles about lean and the implementation in both daily press and on the intranet of the hospital. The results showed that an open and accessible leader that coaches his/her staff and supports their work, helps the staff to develop a lean identity.

This study aims to investigate how participants in a companys traineeprogram describe that the programmes educational tasks has prepared them for their future work. The study also examines how participants perceive that they have developed skills that are specifik to their profession and how they became part of a community. The following questions were formed to make it possible to investigate the purpose further; ?Do the participants feel that the interaction within the trainee group has promoted their learning??, ?How does the participants describe the training elements in relation to their development of competencies that they use in their professional role?? and ?How does the traineeprogram contribute to the participants becoming part of a community??. This was examined by taking part of what previous research has highlighted as important for learning and socialization in relation to traineeprograms.

The purpose of this study was to explore experiences of the process of developing a homosexual identity during childhood. We wanted to examine the experiences, feelings and thoughts that young adults, identifying themselves as homosexuals, had growing up in Sweden.For the study a qualitative method was used and nine interviews were made with young adults in the ages of 18 - 30. They answered our questions about their process of developing a homosexual identity, about their friends, family and school and about the society in general. We analysed the material from the interviews using the theory of the coming-out-process as presented by mainly Månsson and Hilte (1990).The main result from the study was that there were some difficulties for our respondents to become aware of their homosexuality and reveal their homosexuality to others. Most of our respondents experienced anxiety and/or fear as they were becoming aware of their sexuality but did become conscious about their homosexuality and accepted it before turning 21 years old.

The overarching aim of this paper is to study the professional encounter in its complexity. The requirements for receiving welfare is set by the professional and it's the professionals decision if they are met in the proper manner. This makes the assessment of the clients conditions and the correctness of the assessment hence important. There are several levels which is necessary for the social worker to take into consideration.We have therefore made a socio-analysis by using a theoretical model of Johansson (2006) where he uses the Social Psychology of the encounter to create a model with four levels, which is always present in the professional encounter: structural, positional, relational, and experience level.  Our base was that the one responsible for handling these levels was the professional which led us to search for literature concerning the professional approach.Our study is formed as a qualitative case-study. Our empirical data consist of qualitative interviews with four social workers handling social allowance.The results shows that the complexity of the professional encounter requires a professional approach.

The concept of domestic violence pertains to different definitions of violence, one of which is the concept of honour related violence and oppression. This paper looks at honour related violence and oppression, as defined in policy documents at a central political level, and how various discourses stand in relation to social categories and power relations. Consequently, the theoretical and methodological premise of the paper has been based on discourse analysis and an intersectional perspective has been applied to gain further depth and breadth in the analysis of the material. The intersectional perspective houses various approaches to the understanding of specific phenomena based on factors of gender, ethnicity, sexuality and class. The analysis concludes that the concept of honour related violence and oppression is a concept without a single scientific definition. There is, however, a general consensus in the political context that honour related violence and oppression is a collective force that can be directed at both sexes.

The starting point for the present study is that the physical environment can enhance the learning processes of children. We want to contribute to more focus being placed on this within library and information sciences. Our main aim is to illustrate how the physical environment can facilitate the learning of children. In order to achieve our aim, we examine a concrete physical environment, namely the children?s department at the main library in Kungsbacka.

SammanfattningDenna studie, baserad på enkätdata från det nationella kvalitetsregistret RIKSÄT, insamlad mellan 2003-2010, undersökte betydelsen av vikt vid ätstörningsbehandling för svenska kvinnor. Viktgrupper inom diagnoserna anorexi, bulimi, ätstörning utan närmare specifikation samt hetsätningsstörning jämfördes avseende behandlingsutfall. Utfallsmåtten var kvarvarande symtom efter avslutad behandling i form av Hetsätning och kompensatoriska beteenden och Ångest kring mat och vikt, Tillfredsställelse med behandlingskontakt, samt Förändringar i global funktionsförmåga (GAF). Resultatet indikerar samband inom diagnosen anorexi. Underviktiga vid behandlingsslut var mindre nöjda med behandlingskontakten än de med hälsosam vikt och de som förblivit underviktiga var mindre nöjda än de som gått från undervikt till hälsosam vikt.

In this study the reliability of dominance profiles as a method of establishing a person's learning style was tested. Eight students at Malmö Academy of Music tried three different ways to learn a short melody at the piano. In this way, their preferred way of learning things (either visual, auditive or kinestetic) was established. Five of the students did best when they used a visual cue to learn a melody, and the remaining three did best when auditive cues were used. All but one of the students had the worst result in the kinestetic trial.

The aim of this paper is to examine the psychosocial work environment and safety culture in minor Swedish airports. The purpose is also to investigate the relationships between these two. The paper deals with theories regarding psychosocial work environment, organizational culture and safety as well as safety culture and safety climate. The participants are air traffic controllers working in minor airports in Sweden. The psychosocial work environment was measured with Copenhagen psychosocial questionnaire (COPSOQ) and the safety culture with the safety culture assessment questionnaire (SCAQ).
