Utan Demokrati, Ingen Bourgeoisie? En kvalitativ fallstudie om demokrati och medelklass i post-sovjetiska Ryssland
This essay constitutes a qualitative case study about democratization theory and the middle class in Russia. This is a very important case to study, especially because of the geographic position of the country as well as the economic importance Russia has as a part of the G8. In the essay the author seeks to answer the question whether the lack of a significant middle class in Russia can be a part of the explanation to the absence of a well functioning democracy in the country. Several democratization theories are presented. The most important being Ruth Berins Collier's theories about ins and outs plus the elite- or working class as the initiator of democratization processes.

The foundation of our study is five strategically selected printed advertisements which all contains signs that refer to digital medias. Through a quality content analysis, we are studying how advertisers may use a room with extended communication too enlarge the space given in a printed advertisement. The potential in these rooms are proposing a social connection and a flexible interaction by providing content that is not possible to create in a printed advertisement. The form of communication is changing and there is a two-way communication created in an obvious way. The different kinds of roles in the communication process are here partially integrated with each other.

The goal of this Masters thesis is to examine how people at the production department of Arkivator Falköping AB perceive the internal organisational communication transfer and exchange of information, by means of a communication audit. The objectives are also to characterise the communication climate and the respondents satisfaction with the internal organisational communication within the organisation. The results of the study are compared with the companys information policy and with previous research in organisational communication. Answers from different demographic groups within the population are compared. The communication audit was conducted using a modified and added version of a questionnaire originally compiled by the International Communications Association.
Case Study: The Shtokman Project : The socio-economic capacity of the Murmansk region in the framework of the development of the Shtokman project
This research is conducted on one of the world?s largest deposits - Shtokman gas and condensate field located in the Barents Sea. The development of the field is operated by the Special Purpose Company Shtokman Development AG - the international consortium of Total, Statoil and Gazprom. This research is aimed to analyze the value chain of the Shtokman project and to study the socio-economic capacity of the Murmansk region in order to examine the perspective fields of work for local companies, as well as the socio-economic potential of the region related to the gas industry that can be applied to the realization of the Shtokman project. The research is based on qualitative and quantitative data collection that involves the results of 24 semi structured interviews conducted in the Murmansk region, including the interviews with representatives of the Shtokman Development AG and the industrial committee of the Murmansk region government.
Musik i omvårdnaden av personer med demenssjukdom : en litteraturöversikt
Bakgrund: År 2050 beräknas det finnas 100 miljoner personer med demenssjukdom i världen. Att skapa stunder av gemenskap, försöka bevara patientens identitet och göra omvårdnaden personlig är avgörande för en god vård. Patienter med demenssjukdom har ofta kvar sin förmåga att sjunga och känna igen musik även i ett sent stadium av sjukdomen.Syfte: Syftet med examensarbetet var att beskriva vilken inverkan musik kan ha i omvårdnaden av personer med demenssjukdom.Metod: En litteraturöversikt baserad på nio vetenskapliga artiklar genomfördes; sex av studierna var kvantitativa och tre kvalitativa. Nyckelfynd identifierades och sammanställdes för varje artikel. Likheter och skillnader jämfördes och övergripande kategorier skapades som efter ytterligare analys kondenserades till teman och underteman.Resultat: Resultatet visar att olika musikinterventioner ökar välbefinnandet hos personer med demenssjukdom genom minskad ångest, minskad agitation, förbättrad sinnestämning samt uttryck av glädje och lekfullhet.

The purpose of this study is to investigate how social media can affect and influence the B2B-relationship. Social media is now a widespread and accepted tool for communication in many B2C-companies; therefore we find it interesting to examine how social media can find its place in the communication mix of B2B-companies. We are also aiming to distinguish standards in how social media is practiced and discussed in the context of the B2B-market. We have applied a qualitative method for this study and we have interviewed seven respondents, which are experts in social media or working with market communication at B2B-companies in Sweden. During our study we have identified several comparable attributes within the B2B market and their opinions about how social media should be approach and adopt in the communication mix of the company..

Kulturtanter : En studie i kvinnlig kulturkonsumtion
The aim of this study is, using the Swedish expression ?kulturtant? (cultured lady) as starting point, to understand how and why women consume the products of the culture industry more eagerly than men. The study is using the concepts put forward by Pierre Bourdieu; fields, capital and habitus. It is a qualitative study based on discussions in focus groups, interviews and material gathered through Google Alerts. In the literature this gap between the sexes with regard to the higher consumption on behalf of women has been referred to as the ?puzzle? of women´s cultural consumption.The empirical results show that the women in the study are well aware of what they want to gain by participating in cultural activities like reading, going to concerts, watching plays or going to the movies.

The study?s purpose is to find out how important cultural competence is for the guidance of people with multicultural backgrounds. I also want to illustrate that what is seen as normal in one culture may mean something different in another culture. The study will also in some extent explore culture clashes and its problems in the guidance context. The method used in the study is qualitative and the five respondents were all practicing Muslims.
"Men jag ska inte döda alla djuren!" : En observationsstudie i förskolan av barns kommunikation, samspel och regler i leken.
Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka hur barnen leker med fokus på hur de kommunicerar med varandra och hur samspelet ser ut mellan barnen samt vilka regler de ger uttryck för. Frågeställningarna som formulerades är: ?Hur kommunicerar barn i leken??, ?Hur samspelar barn i leken?? samt ?Vilka regler ger barnen uttryck för i leken??. Metoden för insamling av material att studera var observation av barn i 3-5-årsåldern på två olika förskolor i två kommuner. Resultatet beskriver barnens interaktioner med varandra och hur de använder både verbal och icke-verbal kommunikation för att förmedla budskap.

The aim with this thesis is to investigate how librarians experience communication with children in reference interviews. In today?s interactive community it is meaningful to study how children communicate with the librarian in virtual reference interview as well as in ordinary reference interviews in physical libraries. Focus has been on finding out what children ask about and how they are asking in virtual reference interviews and in ordinary reference interviews, what type of information needs the children have. The study also focuses on which barriers there can be in reference interviews.
Fyra lärare är fler än tre youtube-videor...eller? : Om gitarrlärares syn på användningen av digitala verktyg och sociala medier i undervisning
Syftet med detta arbete är att ta reda på gitarrlärares uppfattningar om konsekvenserna av hur olika digitala verktyg och sociala medier används i gitarrundervisningen på musikutbildningar på olika nivåer. För att uppnå detta syfte har jag intervjuat fyra verksamma gitarrlärare. Studien utgår från ett sociokulturellt perspektiv och i resultatet visas att lärare, med hjälp av digitala verktyg och sociala medier, får fler källor att inhämta lektionsmaterial ifrån och att informationen är mer lättillgänglig nu än förr. Det framkommer också av resultatet att lättillgängligheten kan vara någonting negativt och kan lämna en frustration hos eleverna. En av de viktigaste slutsatserna är att lärare anser att undervisningen blir bättre med hjälp av digitala verktyg och sociala medier, om de används på rätt sätt..

ABSTRACTTitle: Cultural dimensions? and their relevance in the interpretation of TV commercialsThe purpose of this study has been to explain the cultural dimensions masculinity versus femininityand individualism versus collectivism and see what their impacts on interpreting commercials are.We also wanted to see if there are any other important aspects to consider when looking at theinterpretation of TV-commercials. To fulfill this purpose we also used this research question:?How are the cultural dimensions relevant when it comes to interpreting TV-commercials?We used a qualitative approach when conducting this study. We found that the dimensionindividualism versus collectivism seemed the most applicable, while the respondents? answers fittedthe best to the highlighted theories.

Title: Internal Communication Approach ? A study of the internal communication-channels of the ICA Administration. Background: The ICA Administration is in the process of generating an organizational change with the purpose of improving their external communication. The internal communication, on the other hand, has been put aside and is missing guidelines at the present. Since the ICA Administration does not know how the staff uses the internal communication-channels they cannot optimize nor develop them. As the literature shows, it is important to choose the channel that is most appropriate for the type of information that it is meant to communicate. Choosing the wrong channel, or using it wrongly, can bring problems consisting of the staff experiencing to receive less information than needed in their daily work. Purpose: The purpose of this thesis is to explore and describe the internal communication between the employees of the ICA Administration from the existing communication-channels and their usage. Method: Through the initial interviews with the staff, the internal communication-channels of the ICA Administration were determined.
Kommunikation av risk- och sårbarhetsanalys från länsstyrelse till kommun
This master thesis investigates how the county administrative boards communicate the regional risk and vulnerability analyses to municipalities in Sweden. Information has been gathered through a survey and through a case study involving three county administrative boards. The results revealed that there are possibilities to improve or develop the communication in all the county administrative boards. The information channels are often written or web based, these channels promote one way communication rather than a dialog. The thesis gives suggestion on how to work out a strategy for a more effective communication, the case study also gives ideas on how a county administrative board can work with communication..
