Faktorer för att upprätthålla psykosocial hälsa : -en studie utifrån socialsekreterares egna upplevelser

Research on psychosocial health in social work isn't developed enough. Instead, there's much more research on psychosocial unhealth. What about Social workers, the unhealth is often related to the situation at work and the work environment.The aim of this study was to "during interviews understand the factors which Social workers experience as important to maintain their own psychosocial health in the life situations". With hermeneutic method the particular interest was directed on how the participants experienced and explained their psychosocial health on the basis of their life situations, and the results was analyzed with Antonovsky's (1991/2005) perspective directed on health and Sense of Coherence (SOC). In the study, we used a qualitative form of interviews which allowed our participants to answer with their own words and from how they interpreted the questions.

Our main aim with this study is to shed a light over the Social workers opinions about what they believe will be the consequences of introducing Housing First in the city of Stockholm. We wanted to examine the Social workers perceptions about how Housing First could change their client?s autonomy and justice. Therefor we accomplished five qualitative interviews with Social workers. We analyzed our empirical material with the theoretical terms; justice, autonomy and intern role-conflict.

Relationens betydelse i klientarbetet inom missbruksvård : En kvalitativ studie utifrån ett socialarbetarperspektiv

The purpose of this particular study was to examine the client relationship as described by Social workers during the ongoing process of addiction treatment in conjunction with the effects on creating these relationships as affected by government stipulations. As a basis for the study, qualitative interviews were conducted with five separate Social workers in the course of their work within addiction treatment. Results from the study were analyzed by means of power and dramaturgically roll theory. The Social workers stated that it was of the utmost importance to create a good relationship in order to effectively help the client. The Social workers further stated that a good relationship was characterized by the virtues of cooperation, trust, and confidence.

The aim of this study was to examine and analyze the experiences which Social workers have of working with relatives of substance abusers. This included examining how they work with relatives who are in need of care and support and how the Social workers identify their needs. We have also investigated how well informed the Social workers are when it comes to approaches to helping relatives of substance abusers. A qualitative method has been used in this study in order to analyze the experiences of the Social workers from a phenomenological point of view. This study was based on six semi-structured interviews.

Dolt under tröjärmarna: om elever med självskadeproblematik utifrån gymnasiekuratorers perspektiv

The main purpose of this study was to examine, and illustrate, highschool Social workers experiences of pupils with self-injurious behaviour. Self-injurious behaviour in this study refer to individuals who harm them-selves, with physical injury as consequence, without purpose to commit suicide. A qualitativ method was used and five highschool Social workers, in the south of Sweden, were interviewed.The main questions were:- What kind of experiences have highschool welfare officers of pupils with self-injurious behaviour?- What view, and personal opinion have the welfare officers at the problem, and how do this affect them in their work with these pupils.The school Social workers experiences of pupils with self- injurious behaviour, were for instance that the pupils often feel ashemed over their behaviour and that they often have lowe self-esteem. The Social workers seemed to imagine the behaviour as a copingstrategy.It turned out that the Social workers personality and their personal opinion regarding self-injurious behaviour, were of great importance in their work with these pupils..

Vilka spänningar kan uppstå mellan en yngre teamledare och äldre medarbetare och kan de hänföras till generations-/åldersskillnader? Hur påverkar dessa teamdynamiken?

Earlier research has shown that generational differences between younger-supervisors and older-workers may cause tensions that lead to team ineffectiveness. There is however still a lack of research in this area. This thesis presents possible tensions that might occur between a younger supervisor and an older worker due to their age and generational affiliation, and how these tensions affect the team dynamics. The empirical data collection was limited to the boundaries of the dental care industry where these generational/age differences between younger supervisor and older worker are common. The thesis looks at the tensions from a qualitative perspective and data was collected in the form of in-depth interviews with selected dentists and nurses.

Socialsekreteraren och organisationen : ett samspel på gott och ont

Different forms of organization in the field of social work, creates different conditions of the individual Social workers occupation. This affects not only the people who carry out this work, but also the clients who come in contact with social services.   This survey was based on six interviews executed during spring in the year 2010. The respondents were Social workers within economic aid and their nearest executive manager at two municipalities in Kalmar County. The overall aim for this survey was to examine how these Social workers were influenced by various ways to organize the municipal work activity. This through following questions:How was respective social service in the municipalities organized?How were the Social worker effected in their daily work by the organization?Where there any specific up- or downsides in the way that economic aid was organized in the aspect of the Social workers daily work?  The result of this survey was synonymous with a lot of the previously executed research in the area in the sense that the larger municipalities were more specialized in its organization than the smaller.

The purpose of this study is to examine Social workers? experiences of animal assisted social work and how Social workers view the integration of animals in various fields of social work. The research is based on a qualitative method and four semi-structured interviews were conducted with Social workers. The theories incorporated in the study are Attachment Theory and Sense of Coherence (SOC).The following results are presented: Social workers are considered to have a more comprehensive understanding of clients compared to their associates who do not hold a degree in Social Work.

Socialsekreterares värdering av olika arbetsmiljöfaktorers betydelse för en god arbetsmiljö

Lately, alarming reports have appeared regarding the work environment and work situation of Social workers. Research focusing on the promotion of health and well-being in the workplace among other professionals show that factors such as social relationships, ability to influence their work situation and leadership are important. A quantitative study was conducted focusing on the work climate for Social workers employed by some of the district administrations in the City of Malmö. A questionnaire with questions and statements on various factors in the work environment was sent to 34 Social workers. They were asked how important these factors were for their well-being, as well as to what extent they felt that these factors were present at work.

"Det är ju inte förvaring" : en jämförande studie om socialarbetares inställning till institutions- och familjehemsvård för barn och unga i Belgien och Sverige

The purpose of this essay was to examine and compare what attitudes Swedish and Belgian Social workers may have towards residential care and foster care for children and young people. To answer the purpose eight qualitative interviews with four Swedish and four Belgian Social workers were made. The results were analyzed by theory of organization and professional acting space. The results of the study show that the Social workers in both countries preferred foster care, especially for small children, and that the Swedish Social workers had a more negative attitude towards residential care than the Belgian Social workers. Even though the Belgian Social workers preferred foster care, they found themselves forced to choose residential care due to lack of available foster care facilities, something that did not seem to affect the Swedish Social workers.

After repeated criticism of the social services about how they manage family care, the National Board of Health and Welfare decided to solve the problem by importing a model used in England (Integrated children's system). This was translated into Swedish conditions and named BBIC (Barns behov i centrum = Child?s needs at the center). Our study aims to investigate whether BBIC will contribute to more and more extensive follow-ups of children placed than before, with a focus on the child's best. This has been studied through qualitative interviews with six Social workers who work with children investigations.

När otillräckligheten byter namn : Socialsekreterares medvetenhet om arbetsrelaterad stress och hur de hanterar den

According to statistics, a significant increase in sickness has occurred in the public sector in recent decades in Sweden. Human therapeutic professions is the area where the illness is most prevalent. The purpose of this study was through a qualitative method and hermeneutic approaches explore how conscious six Social workers in the social services are on stress and how they cope with it. Further it investigates and analyzes how these results affect their daily work.One important result due to stress is that the Social workers ability to treat their clients is impaired and they are less able to be empathetic. Inadequacy in the work environment leads to a sense of insufficiency by Social workers, and a reduced quality of life.

När är det barnens tur? : En studie om socialarbetares syn på barns delaktighet och inflytande

According to the Conventions on the Rights of the Child, children have the right to make their voices heard and express their opinion in situations concerning them. With this paper the authors have chosen to explore Social worker?s view?s on children?s participation and influence, and how these are manifested through the entire case process. The focus in this study has also been the positive and negative effects the children?s influence may have.To investigate this, a qualitative study using semi-structured interviews has been conducted.

Det är vår förbannade skyldighet! : En kvalitativ studie av hur socialsekreterare kan uppleva utrymmet för civilkurage

This thesis studies public service Social workers' opinions regarding their ability to act with moral courage as loyalty conflicts occur. The purpose of the thesis is to describe the Social workers' experiences of their possibilities to stand up for what they believe in. We made qualitative interviews with five Social workers in Stockholm. In an effort to pinpoint their experiences we asked them questions about what they want but cannot do and what is stop-ping them, what they do not want to do and why, aswell as what the possible solutions would be as loyalty conflicts occur. We were able to identify five different opinions on the organisa-tional cultures and how the employees' experience the extent of their actions.
