The main purpose is to illuminate how a company links certain values to its brand in an effort to achieve a competitive position. We have done this by studying the government owned company Svenska Spel and its entrance on the netpokermarket. With Corporate Social Responsibility as a guidance for the company they wanted to offer Swedish gamblers an alternative to the, often morally dubious, international actors. Our thesis has taken an internal (corporate) as well as an external (consumer) perspective on the result of this strive. Our conclusions are that although Svenska Spel is successfully integrating social responsibility into their netpokerbusiness, they are facing a difficulty in making the consumer fully appreciate it.

Aim: To investigate the quality of life and the social life situation, with special focus on the consequenses of fear of hypoglycemia (FoH), in Islet transplanted patients.Method: 11 patients were included, four women and seven men, who have been Islet tranplanted at Uppsala University Hospital during the years 2001-2009. Two questionaires, Short Form 36 (SF-36) and the Swedish version Hypoglycemia Fear Survey (Swe-HFS) were used to investigate the quality of life, in relation to fear of hypoglycemia. Also, telephone interviews were conducted to investigate the patients social life situation in relation to FoH, after Islet transplantation and were analysed using content analysis method.Results: The mean value for quality of life was lower than that in the normal population. Three out of ten patients experienced FoH. Three predominant themes were revealed, one theme associated with pre- transplant, was ?Struggle for control of Social Life Situation? and two themes associated with post-transplant, were ?Regain power and controll of  Social Life Situation? and ?At Peace with the balance between the Present and the Future?.Conclusion: The patients experienced improved control over social life situation and quality of life in relation to FoH may been improved following islet tranplantation..

Syftet med denna studie var att ta reda på hur några textillärare i grundskolan år 3-9 arbetar med hållbar utveckling i textilslöjden. I studien har jag använt mig av både litteraturstudier och en enkätundersökning. Litteraturstudiet ger svar på vad begreppet hållbar utveckling innebär. Studiens slutsats är att hållbar utveckling är en naturligt integrerad del av slöjdämnet. I slöjdämnet agerar eleven både som designer, producent och konsument och detta ger en tydlig integration med hållbar utveckling och alla de aspekter som detta innefattar.

Tillhörighet och att få vara en del av ett socialt sammanhang är nödvändigt för oss människor. Social exkludering utgör ett hot mot individens välbefinnande och har visats påverka individens beteende och åsikter. Syftet med studien var att undersöka om människor är mer intoleranta mot personer de inte känner tillhörighet med, om social exkludering leder till en ännu mer intolerant hållning samt om individens behov av tillhörighet påverkar hur de mår vid social exkludering. I studien deltog 26 studenter varav hälften blev exkluderade under ett datorspel. Deltagarna svarade på enkäter om hur de mådde, åsiktsfrågor och deras behov av tillhörighet.

REFERATStudiens syfte är att påvisa utvecklingstrenderna i befolkningens utveckling och sammansättning under perioden 2000-2014. Syftet är också att diskutera denna utveckling utifrån teorier och trender i ett större perspektiv.Studien är kvantitativ och bygger på datamaterial från SCB. Studien är en deskription för hur befolkningsutvecklingen och sammansättningen av ålder och könsbalans ser ut för kommunerna i länet.Resultatet visar att de flesta kommuner har en negativ utveckling och att nästan all befolkningstillväxt sker i Umeå. För samtliga kommuner minskar andelen yngre och andelen äldre blir fler. Åldersstrukturen, könsbalansen och försörjningskvoten skiljer sig kraftigt mellan kommuner.

AbstractThe struggle for land has been an issue ever since Brazil was colonized by the Portuguese Crown. The deep social inequalities that the country faces were raised then. More than 45% of the agricultural land is controlled by only 1% of the landowners. There have been many movements since then, who has fought for agrarian reforms.MST, the largest social movement in Brazil, was born in the 1980s. They managed to mobilize the peasants and the poor people.

Marknadsföring handlar om kommunikation. I en värld där bl.a. miljöförstörelse är en del av vardagen är det viktigt att kommunicera de alternativ som ger en bättre förutsättning för en hållbar utveckling. Detta arbete undersöker möjligheten för marknadsförare att verka för hållbar utveckling, genom ansvarsgrundad marknadsföring och att marknadsföra med ansvar. Utvalda företag har blivit undersökta på deras sätt att marknadsföra sig på samt hur de säger sig värna om en hållbar utveckling genom den.

Det här examensarbetet behandlar hållbar utveckling med utgångspunkt i de styrdokument som rör skolan, Lpfö 98, Lpfö 11, Lpo 94 samt Lgr 11. Syftet med studien är att med hjälp av kritisk diskursanalys se hur resonemanget kring hållbar utveckling förs fram i de respektive läroplanerna samt huruvida det går att se några förskjutningar i de olika läroplanernas sätt att föra fram resonemangen kring hållbar utveckling. Undersökningens frågeställningar är följande: Hur ser ?talet om? hållbar utveckling ut i de nuvarande läroplanerna respektive i de kommande? Kan vi se några förskjutningar eller förändringar i de värderingar och argument som skrivs fram? För att genomföra vår studie så har vi som ett första steg analyserat de fyra styrdokumenten var för sig, därefter har dokumenten ställts mot varandra för att vi ska förstå dem i ett större sammanhang. De förändringar som syns i läroplanerna för förskolan är främst att förskolan har fått tydligare mål för vad de bör arbeta emot inom natur och teknik.

The purpose of this study has been to investigate which factors are important with foster home placing, to achieve a positive result for the child. The questions that we have focused on is the importance of the child's earlier experiences and relations, the foster homes attitude and approach, the social service organization and the cooperation between these concerned parties. We have also looked at the importance that the relation between the biological family, the child and the foster home can have. This study has been carried out using qualitative interviews with several foster homes, social welfare secretaries and a researcher in the area. We have also chosen to separate the foster homes on the basis of two foster homes only accepting teenagers while other accepting younger children.The theoretical concepts we have chosen to use are connected to attachment theory and the ecology of human development point of view.

AbstractSocial welfare workers employed in the same county base their assessments on the same laws, routines and guidelines, yet it seems that they sometimes come to different decisions. It's the discretion that enables the social workers to make individualized decisions adapted to each clients unique situation.The purpose of this paper is to examine social welfare workers reflections on discretion and what influences their discretion in the professional role.Six qualitative interviews were conducted with social welfare workers in three communitys i the middle of Sweden.The main result shows that it is primarily four factors that affect the social welfare workers discretion in the professional role :External factors such as other organizations change of regulations and cooperation with other organizations.Organizational factors such as routines, rules and guidelines .Professional factors such as the opportunity to use experience and professionalknowledge to determine which measure works in different situations.Individual factors like the workers ability for initiative and the clients individualcircumstances. Social welfare workers feel that they have a relatively wide discretion in their profession. They believe they have the ability to make individual evaluations of each client, however they also believe that their discretion often is limited by lack of time.Key words: social welfare workers, clients, discretion, assessments. .

Studien syftar till att undersöka förekomsten av hållbar utveckling i Lpo94, då vi utifrån våra erfarenheter inom skolan inte har sett någon undervisning för hållbar utveckling bedrivas. Ytterligare en anledning till att undersöka förekomsten är då Sverige ingår i flera internationella överenskommelser där det framkommer att undervisning för hållbar utveckling ska vara prioriterat. Då en ny läroplan, Lgr11, träder i kraft 1juli 2011 undersöktes även förekomsten av hållbar utveckling däri, då studien syftar till att undersöka huruvida det skett förändringar till fördel för undervisning för hållbar utveckling i Lgr11 i förhållande till Lpo94. Vid analysen av läroplanerna användes en metodtriangulering, i form av innehållsanalyser, textanalyser samt komparativa analyser. Inför analyserna fastställdes några kriterier som utgick från innebörden av hållbar utveckling, vilka hela studien sedan kom att bygga på.

Syftet med föreliggande studie är att undersöka perspektivet hållbar utveckling i läroböckerna.Studien består av två delstudier - en kvantitativ studie som undersöker vilket utrymme perspektivetfår i läroböckerna, och en kvalitativ studie som undersöker vilka idéer om ekonomisk tillväxt ochhållbar utveckling som förmedlas i läroböckerna. Som empiriskt material för studien användsläroböcker som är framtagna för gymnasieskolans kurs Samhällskunskap 1b och är skrivna 2011.Resultaten visar att samtliga läroböcker behandlar hållbar utveckling och relationen mellanekonomisk tillväxt och hållbar utveckling. Både vad gäller utrymme och vilka idéer som förmedlasså råder det stora skillnader mellan böckerna. Vid en jämförelse med tidigare genomförda studier avliknande karaktär visar det sig att de läroböcker som gett mycket eller lite utrymme till perspektiveti tidigare upplagor, även gör det i 2011 års läroböcker..

This paper examines the consequences of membership and participation in immigrant associations on individual immigrants? political integration and indirect political participation with reference to Swedish society. The theoretical underpinnings consist of a social structural outlook on social capital, combined with the Civic Voluntarism Model, both of which focus on the potential role of social networks for moving people into political action. After a presentation of parallel qualitative data over the experiences of individual members in a Finnish and Bosnian-Hercegovinian organisation, it is suggested that immigrant associations support the political integration of their members into the host society. Firstly, the case studies indicate that members of immigrant associations gain the opportunity to augment their civic skills, which is a significant prerequisite for political participation.
