During the last decade a new technique in animal breeding has developed called genomic selection. It is based on estimations of the effect from genetic markers on traits that are calculated in a reference population. By genotyping individuals, genomic breeding values can then be estimated without phenotypic observations. The aim of this essay is to investigate the response of genomic selection on breeding schemes for dairy cattle. The accuracy of the genomic breeding values is affected by the proportion of observations included in the validation set and how often the equation for estimating breeding values is reevaluated.

The purpose of this study was to investigate what competence social workers have, don´t have and ask for in the work with unaccompanied children, how a lack of competence and guidelines has been compensated in the practical work and how the social workers view the future work with unaccompanied children. This has been done through eight semi-structured interviews with social workers who work with unaccompanied children. The result has been analyzed with help of the theoretical perspective globalization connected to social work and showed that none of the social workers felt not having the competence to work with the children. However, everyone mention one or more areas where they ask for competence development. The study showed that lack of education has been compensated through practical experiences, knowledge exchange with others and that guidelines now have been formed.

Målet med studien är att genom ett transdiagnostiskt perspektivförklara hur stress i skolan leder fram till depressiva symptom. Ifokus är ungdomar i 13-15 års ålder där jag undersöker omungdomars upprepade negativa tankar verkar som mediatorer ellerkopplingar mellan stress (i skolan, samt i relationer med kamrateroch lärare i skolan) och depressiva symptom. För ändamåletanvänds data från en pågående studie vid Örebro Universitet omvälmående bland årskurs 7 och 8 elever och jag genomför entvärsnittsanalys. Medierinsanalyser visade att ungdomarsupprepade negativa tankar förklarar mycket av association mellanstress i skolan och depressiva symptom. Slutsatsen för denna studieär att för att påverka ungdomars depressiva symptom behöver viidentifiera de sätt som ungdomar ser på sig själva och sin omvärld..

This study is about conception in the evaluation of financial assistance within the social services. The aim of this study is to describe and understand how social workers reason about variation, conception and local norms and its significance in the evaluation process. To reach this purpose we have conducted semi-structured interviews with eight social workers in which different themes were discussed and reasoned about. In order to understand and analyze our results we have studied/used the knowledge about tacit knowledge and street-level bureaucracy. Our results showed, as previous research states, that social workers do have conceptions about clients.

The purpose of this study was to examine young offenders? attitudes towards crime, and to the penalty they have been sentenced to as juveniles. More specifically its aim was to examine an intervention program called Galaxen, specifically used  to deal with  juveniles  in Växjö. This intervention program consists mainly of conversations with social workers from social services,  aiming  towards  better  self-awareness  and  the  ability  to  understand  the  consequences  of one?s actions.

Läroplanen för gymnasieskolan 2011 uttrycker sex explicita demokratiska värden vilka skolan förväntas förmedla och fostra efter. Dessa värden är människans egenvärde, alla människors lika värde, människolivets okränkbarhet, individens frihet och integritet, jämställdhet mellan kvinnor och män, och solidaritet mellan människor. Mot bakgrund av skolan som en medborgarfostrande institution undersöker jag i denna uppsats på vilka sätt dessa olika begrepp kan tolkas och definieras, och vidare hur vi moraliskt kan argumentera för dessa värden. Jag argumenterar att värdegrunden, som formulerad i läroplanen, saknar en tydlig filosofisk förankring och att den utifrån en filosofisk analys inte är koherent. Jag diskuterar vidare vad detta får för konsekvenser för de som verkar inom skolan och föreslår ett kritiskt och filosofiskt förhållningssätt till arbetet med värdegrunden.

The present study aims to investigate how social workers in child protection investigations understand, recognize and interpret domestic violence and which interventions the social workers suggest. This is a qualitative vignette study in which semi-structured interviews was carried out with social workers working with child protection investigations.

An explorative study on the work motivation of employees at a retirement home. The three main factors are internal motivation, external motivation and control. A comparison between how important they estimate the different factors to be and how they experience them today reveals which factor is their key motivator and which areas that need improvement. Results indicat that internal and external motivation are slightly more important than control. And the amount of perceived control reflects the amount of creative and initiative behaviour of the individual.

Syftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka vilka möjligheter som en viss skola och idrottslärarna erbjuder för funktionshindrade till att delta på idrottslektionerna. Studien genomfördes på en skola med två funktionshindrade elever och genom kvalitativa intervjuer och observationer undersöktes deras möjligheter att delta på idrottslektionerna. Den kvalitativa intervjumetoden valdes då det ger stor nogrannhet i svaren och för att undersöka vilka möjligheter som skolan erbjuder funktionshindrade intervjuades rektorn på skolan då det är rektorn som vet vad skolan väljer att lägga resurserna på. Skolan i fråga lägger 800 000 kronor per år på specialutrustning och lärarstöd för funktionshindrade samt i snitt 30 000 per år på andra materiella anpassningar. Detta innebär dock inte att idrottshallen är anpassad för funktionshindrade elever då det framkommer av rektorn att det finns så många fel som behöver åtgärdas och ändras i hallen så att det krävs en stor investering och detta leder till att det inte kommer ändras något i hallen på obestämd tid.

Idag är rasism och främlingsfientlighet begrepp som dagligen berörs och debatteras överallt i samhället. Syftet med studien är att visa på ett antal lärares syn och tankar kring hur rasism och främlingsfientlighet kommer till uttryck i skolan samt hur lärarna ser på sin egen roll i relation till dessa fenomen. Frågorna som besvaras är: Vilka erfarenheter har lärare av rasism och främlingsfientlighet i skolan? Hur bemöter lärare rasism och främlingsfientlighet om sådant kommer till uttryck i skolan? I vilken utsträckning och på vilka sätt känner lärarna att de är förberedda på att bemöta rasism och främlingsfientlighet i skolan? Studien utgår ifrån en kvalitativ metod med semistrukturerade intervjuer. Resultatet visar att lärarna i olik utsträckning har stött på eller relativt ofta stöter på rasistiska och främlingsfientliga åsikter i skolan.

Syfte med detta arbete var att undersöka om och hur utomhuspedagogik kan främja social kompetens och om utomhuspedagogik kan vara en möjlighet för att träna social kompetens i gymnasieskolan.Dagens ungdomar har färre vuxenkontakter och blir influerade av det tekniska samhället samtidigt som sociala färdigheter tränas mindre. Därav blir ungdomars brister i social kompetens mer påtaglig för samhället. Gymnasielever befinner sig i en känslig utvecklingsfas där social kompetens spelar en omedveten roll för sociala interaktioner. För närvarande finns ingen aktuell forskning om sambandet mellan utomhuspedagogik och träning av social kompetens på gymnasieskolan.Min empiriska studie har med hjälp av kvalitativa intervjuer av fyra verksamheter som arbetar med utomhuspedagogik tagit reda på om och hur utomhuspedagogik kan användas för att främja social kompetens. Respondenterna är verksamma i grundskolan, försvarsmakten, polisutbildningen och företagskonsulting.
