Postcolonial feminist theory says that ones identity is constructed by severalfactor, not only gender but even culture, ethnicity and class imbedded in the socialcontext. This paper examines what happens to women's identities if the socialcontext changes. Does an identity shift occur? By interviewing five women fromBosnia-Herzegovina I try to understand the affects migration has on women?sidentity. This thesis is about young people who do participate in party politics. There is also a desire for further/ continuing education, but this is seen as an organizational pitfall when the manager does not have the same educational background as school social worker.Ultimately, it is the peripatetic life as a social worker at the school who is considered the most exhausting part of the work as a school social worker in a rural area. There is a great desire among the interviewed school social workers to have fewer schools to relate to and work on..

The purpose of this essay was to investigate and analyze affecting factors concerning social workers in two different municipality social services, Karlskrona and Karlshamn, working with cases of youth drug abuse. We wanted to see what affects social workers in their choices of assessments of youth drug abusers. We wanted to find out whether the organizational aspects or the cliental qualities affect the social workers more than the other in the choices of assessments. Among the cliental qualities we used in this essay, gender was the most important quality and therefore the quality we wanted to pay special attention to. When it came to the organizational aspects we paid special attention to the social workers boundaries of agency.

Den här uppsatsen behandlar den västerländska säkerhetsdiskursen. Syftet är att åskådliggöra den världsordning som skapas inom diskursen. Till grund för analysen ligger två säkerhetsstrategier: USA:s National Security Strategy och EU:s En Europeisk Säkerhetsstrategi.Diskursanalysen är vår metod och teori och det innebär att språket står i centrum för vår analys. Vi vill med uppsatsen lyfta fram hur diskursen konstruerar den sociala verkligheten och vilka konsekvenser det får.Vi koncentrerar oss på två områden som vi menar är centrala inom diskursen: Konstruerandet av sociala identiteter, ?de andra? och ?oss?, samt säkerhet och den ?säkerhetisering? som sker i diskursen.

Social control in different forms has existed in all known societies. This control has taken different shapes and expressions. In older smaller communities there was a collective control among the citizens. In modern societies the state is trying to control the lives of the citizens. These control mechanisms can be seen as both freedom-reducing and freedom inducing depending on which concept of freedom one upholds.

Denna uppsats har syftet att belysa och analysera processer av ansvarsutkrävande inom svensk förvaltning. Utbildningssektorn är den del av förvaltningen som studeras då skolan är en unik institution i dagens samhälle och en förutsättning för en levande demokrati. Skolan har genomgått reformer som kommit att påverka dess organisering och möjlighet att utkräva ansvar.Ansvarsutkrävandet belyses genom hela ansvarskedjan från nationell nivå till den enskilda skolan. Arbetet har formen av en kvalitativ analys. På kommunal nivå genomförs en fallstudie av Malmö kommun.

The empirical material of this study consisted of tweets by four leading politicians in Sweden: Carl Bildt of Nya Moderaterna, Annie Lo?o?f of Centerpartiet, A?sa Romson of Miljo?partiet and Jonas Sjo?stedt of Va?nsterpartiet. The aim of the study was to examine how they use Twitter as a political tool and what that says of the mediatization of politics. What content did they publish, how did the content differentiate between them and what political messages and other subjects occurred in their tweets? Does the political debate become fragmented because they?re only allowed to use 140 characters on Twitter? The theoretical framework and method applied for the research was based upon critical discourse analysis (CDA), with special interest in ideology and mediatized discourse.The result of the study showed that the content they published consisted mostly of criticism towards political opponents, rather than of independent political opinions.

Skolan är en social arena där elever gör mer än att lära sig praktiska och teoretiska kunskaper. Det är även en plats där elever ingår i sociala gemenskaper. Syftet med denna rapport är att genom observationer undersöka, hur elever skapar utrymme för social gemenskap i klassrummet under pågående undervisning. Studien genomfördes i en årskurs trea på en mindre skola.De resultat som framkom var att elever använder sig av olika kommunikativa strategier för att skapa utrymme för social interaktion med varandra. Eleverna använde sig av både verbala och kroppsliga kommunikativa strategier för att etablera och upprätthålla utrymmet för social gemenskap.

The globalization of political and economic processes is a growing moral concern for theologians and political philosophers alike. My thesis aims to outline, analyze, and compare church studies of globalization with global theories of justice.To do this, I draw upon recent studies of globalization made by the World Council of Churches (WCC) and the Lutheran World Federation (LWF). The WCC and LWF are two global reaching church organizations. They have a common aim of uniting churches for ecumenical dialogue and are involved in social, economic, political, and ecological questions. The WCC and LWF analyze globalization by applying biblical and theological principles from the Christian tradition.

This paper has its aim to investigate in which way the theory about the dynamic of the triadic nexus, presented by Brubaker, needs to be revised. In the first place this theory is presented and after then applied on the triad formed by: the Hungarian national minority in Transylvania, Romania and Hungary. Through the empirical evidences, that are presented here by following up the political relations and its dynamics over time between the three fields, is shown that the theory is usable for the case in question. Further as we approach the more actual development of the political life in the triad appears a need to deal with one more field which would be for example the NATO or/and EU.This means that Brubakers theory has to be revised so it would take in account a forth field and that of an international organization/institution. I en tid då allt fler röster höjs angående FN:s ineffektivitet har vi valt att undersöka hur organisationen behandlar medlingsuppdrag i mellanstatliga konflikter. Utifrån den pågående konflikten på Cypern och kriget mellan Iran och Irak på 1980-talet ser vi hur FN som tredje part har agerat dels utifrån ett systemperspektiv och dels på medlingsnivå. De valda konflikterna grundar sig i liknande frågor om nationell identitet, etnicitet och gränsdragning. För att täcka flera problemområden använder vi oss av realism, socialkonstruktivistisk organisationsteori samt erkända medlingsteorier.Efter att ha analyserat konflikterna har vi sett att FN är i behov av reformer som stärker möjligheterna att medla fram lösningar i konflikter, då rådande omständigheter gör FN beroende av stöd från andra aktörer och egna medlemsländer..

I vår uppsats ställer vi oss frågan varför Turkiet, trots över 50 år av demokratiska institutioner bryter mot mänskliga rättigheter samt yttrande- och pressfriheter. Vi har använt oss av en modell som identifierar tre kärnområden viktiga för demokratisering: staten, globaliseringen och civilsamhället.Vår slutsats är Turkiet har en politisk kultur som inte gynnar konsolidering. Detta beror på flera olika faktorer. Transitionen från diktatur till valdemokrati innebar att strukturer etablerades som favoriserade eliter. För det andra finns det en omfattande partikularism i statsförvaltningen jämte det demokratiska systemet.
