AbstractThe aim of this study was to highlight who represents elderly immigrants and apply the theory of social exclusion. We chose channels for representation that we found important in relation to this group. The first part is a study of available litterature of the subject. We found three main arenas: participation in elections, participation in associations and clubs and representation in political institutions. The findings showed a democratic deficit among elderly immigrants, which gave an indication of social exclusion from the political arena and from participation in associations.For the second part we decided to concentrate on the arena of participation in associations and clubs that represent the elderly and/or immigrants.

Studiens syfte var att undersöka om det sker en social desirability effekt vid självskatting av egenskaper som beskriver manliga och kvinnliga stereotyper när dessa egenskaper framhävs positivt. Studien ämnade ytterligare undersöka om män och kvinnor skiljer sig åt i social desirability. Ett experiment utfördes där försökspersonerna slumpvis fördelades över en kontrollbetingelse och två experimentbetingelser. Den ena experimentbetingelsen tilldelades en kvinnlig manipulation där kvinnliga stereotyper framhävdes positivt medan den andra experimentbetingelsen tilldelades en manlig manipulation där manliga stereotyper framhävdes positivt. Kontrollbetingelsen tilldelades ingen manipulation.

(2008) Uppdrag och verklighet - En studie omuppdragsbeskrivningens inverkan på chefskapet.C-uppsats i sociologi.Högskolan i Gävle, institutionen för vårdvetenskap och sociologi.Undersökningens syfte var att undersöka om verksamhetschefer upplever att deras uppdragsbeskrivning stämmer överens med det dagliga arbetet inom verksamheten samt om uppdragsbeskrivningen inverkar på deras yrkesroll som verksamhetschef inom ordinärt boende, hemtjänst.Undersökningen utgjordes av en kvalitativ studie i form av intervjuer.Antal informanter som deltog i studien var fyra verksamhetschefer inom ordinärt boende inom Omvårdnad Gävle. Resultatet visade att verksamhetscheferna inte upplevde att uppdragsbeskrivningen motsvarade vad de utförde i det dagliga arbetet i verksamheten. Uppdragsbeskrivningens inverkan på ledarskap respektive chefskap upplevdes som viktig,dock upplevde inte cheferna att den var uppdaterad.

The increased use of social media in recent years has attracted the attention of different kinds of nonprofit organisations. The purpose of this study is to identify a foundation for viral strategies for nonprofit organisations as well as to understand the current interactivity between the organisation and its followers in social media. Following that we have chosen the research question: In what ways can nonprofit organisations develop viral marketing in social media? The study has a qualitative research methodology with empirical findings as base. We have throughout the research process strived for an inductive nature in the study though there are deductive elements.

The purpose of this essay was to look at how the Swedish Prison and Probation Service and the Social Service work with children who have parents in prison and what they can do to ease the contact between the children and their parents. In our study we have used different questions regarding parent role, gender, child perspective, contact possibilities and collaboration. We have interviewed six prison officers and five social workers in Skåne. We have also used previously written reports. Our conclusions are that the parent role is affected by imprisonment and more amongst the women than the men.

Social media is by many believed to be the core of a new type of Public Relations. This new PR is called PR 2.0. Most larger companies today are to be find using dif- ferent types of social media to interact with their publics. Each year companies invest more money in this type of digital public relations. Social media is a relatively new online phenomenon and still used at a very early stage.

Between 1750 and 1850 the population of Sweden doubled. The increase was very unequally distributed among the different social groups of the rural population. The number of peasants grew very little, while the numbers of the landless (crofters, bordars etc.) more than quadrupled. This study examines whether Christer Winberg's thesis of the landless growth can be applied to Björklinge parish in Uppland. Winberg believes that it was mainly children of tenant farmers who became landless.

Organisationers engagemang i Corporate social responsibility (CSR) är betydelsefullt för dess intressentgrupper. För att undersöka vilken inverkan arbete med CSR har på intressenterna har vi valt att fokusera på anställda, och hur deras identifiering påverkas av organisationers arbete med CSR. Detta är också studiens syfte som vidare även behandlar vilka av CSR-aspekterna ekonomi, etik och filantropi som är väsentliga för anställda. Frågeställningarna som studien besvarar är följande: Hur påverkas de anställdas identifiering med organisationen av uppfattningen om dess arbete med CSR? Vilka specifika CSR-aspekter influerar en anställds identifiering med en organisation?För att ge svar på studiens frågeställningar användes en kvantitativ metod bestående av en webbaserad enkätundersökning.

Arbetslivet och frånvaron av arbete är en stor del av en individs identitetsskapande. Samtidigt pågår stora förändringar på arbetsmarknaden och individen måste vara anpassningsbar, till att vara i en ny situation och omdefiniera sin egen identitet. Den första delen i antologin handlar om hur den flexibla arbetsmarknaden har för inverkan på en individs identitet och livsvillkor. Studien visar att informanterna lever i olika stor grad i denna verklighet ch har en inverkan på dess identitetsskapande. Nästa bidrag belyser hur det sociala samspelet ser ut mellan olika etniska grupper på arbetsmarknaden.

The purpose of this study was to increase the understanding of the phenomenon that there are so many young people placed in institutions in Sweden despite the valuable knowledge regarding the problems and risks of doing so. The questions that follow in the essay were what guided the social workers to choose institutional placement for youngsters. It went on to also ask if this knowledge could contribute to an increased understanding of why there were so many young people placed in institutions despite the criticism from scientists. To accomplish the goal of the essay, former science in the subject was reported and six social workers within social services were interviewed. The material of the interviews was analyzed with help from the theory of human service organizations, street-level bureaucrats work situation and the new institutionalism.The result of the investigation showed that the social workers choices to place young people in institutions is guided by specific work and organizational factors connected with a belief in the helping function of the surroundings.

I have done a qualitative literature study, in which the data consisted of descriptions of drug abuse in ten social inquiry text documents (that also are applications for institutional care) concerning teenagers. Social welfare secretaries representing two social welfare offices in Malmö, has written the text documents. The purpose of this essay was to examine thedescriptions and, if possible, try to make out and describe stereotyped themes and patterns depending on gender. To obtain the purpose of this essay I searched for answers of the following three central questions:- What appears to be the social welfare secretary's purpose in describing the teenager's drug abuse?- How is the parameter gender related to the descriptions of drug abuse in the social inquiry text documents?- How are other possible gender-stereotyped descriptions of the teenager related to the descriptions of drug abuse?In the analysis of the descriptions, which where the foundation of the study, I found patterns in describing drug abuse depending on gender.

Den här uppsatsen syftar till att skapa en ökad förståelse för vilken inverkan den fysiska förskolemiljön har på barns lärande. Hur lär sig barn? Uppmärksammar barn att de lär sig? Vidare undersöks barnens sätt att använda sig av förskolans fysiska rum, olika sätt att tillgodogöra sig kunskaper och barnens lek. Materialet som ligger till grund för analysen har samlats in genom observationer och barnintervjuer. I analysen diskuteras och analyseras det resultatet utifrån en socialkonstruktionistisk kunskapssyn.

The purpose of this study is to search and analyze different logics that operators use in the work of helping juvenile delinquents to break their criminal behavior. New institutional theory is used in this study to analyze the results. The study was conducted through qualitative interviews of six professionals in two municipalities which work with juvenile delinquency. There are two questions that we want to address in this study. The first one is what methods the social workers are using in two middle large municipalities to help youth to brake there criminal behavior.

They describe the importance of surrounding themselves with people who do not judge them and it is through them they get validated.Places have been emphasised as having special meaning for the social interaction and overall wellbeing for the subjects.There is active actions for social interactions/relationships taken by the subjects,Conclusion:their social network.

The aim of this qualitative study was to explore which inner conceptions about the abused older women the professional social workers had and how they experienced the enconter of an abused old woman in an intimate partner relation. The theoretical background is social construction by Berger and Luckmann. This theory was uset to analyze the transcribed interviews. This study is based on nine interviews with five professionals in social services, three volunteers from the voluntary sector and one social worker who worked in a community based support group for abused older women. The result of this study shows that older women were often abused, by a relative they were dependent on, in their home.
