The purpose of this bachelor thesis is to examine how public libraries use socialmedia for marketing purposes, and what librarians think about this. My focus of this thesislies on what librarians think about marketing of libraries through social media and if theythink that marketing through social media can create a better relationship between the libraryand its users. The questions I wanted to answer were:? Libraries using social media, for what purpose do they use them? ? Do the libraries choose to use social media to market their organization? Why? ? What attitudes exist among librarians about marketing through social media?The theoretical framework for this thesis is Evert Gummessons model off Relationshipmarketing and the process of Internet marketing, which both are based on relationalperspective. The methodology used for this study was structured interviews.

Glosträning eller lässtrategier? Lärares syn på läsning i gymnasieskolans språkundervisning

Abstract The aim of this study is to find out how teachers view the importance of reading in the teaching of foreign languages. In relation to this, we wish to gain understanding of what teachers want to achieve with reading, how they choose texts and what difficulties they encounter in getting their students to read. Six teachers from three different upper secondary schools in southern Sweden were interviewed for the study. We also examined the text-materials that they were using for their instruction. The findings show that students read mostly adapted texts from textbooks and, to a limited extent, authentic materials.

?The modern library in the network society?A study of cultural politicians and librarians opinions about libraries' use of social mediaSocial media is becoming more and more interacted in our daily lives and Carlsson (2013) argues that today's libraries have undergone major challenges in the digital information technology's entry in the library arena. The new technology has led to sum up in one question: how a library should relate to the digital information technology, the issue has applied in particular the social communications media, such as Facebook, Twitter and more. The purpose of this paper is to examine the culture of politicians and librarians 'perceptions of public libraries' use of social media linked to the libraries and their democracy promotion efforts. This is analyzed from Castells theories about the network society and the digital divide.In summary, the study concluded that the majority of the culture politicians and librarians believe that social media is a part of the future of the library.

Det vidgade textbegreppet i svenskundervisningen på gymnasieskolan : En studie av sex svensklärares syn på och användning av text

Denna uppsats har som syfte att undersöka hur några lärare ser på och använder det vidgade textbegreppet i svenskundervisningen på gymnasieskolan. För att uppnå detta syfte formulerades tre frågeställningar som studien söker svar på. Dessa frågeställningar är: Hur uppfattar lärarna konceptet ett vidgat textbegrepp och vad uppfattar de själva som en text? Hur, när och varför arbetar lärarna med ljud- och bildbaserade medier? Vilka möjligheter och hinder upplever lärarna i Skolverkets mål om ett vidgat textbegrepp och generell mediekompetens i svenskundervisningen? Genom semistrukturerade intervjuer undersöker studien sex svensklärare på en gymnasieskola i södra Sverige för att söka svar på frågeställningarna. Undersökningen pekar på att det finns mer att önska vad gäller såväl synen på text och uppfattning om vad en vidgad textsyn innebär.

Permutationer av omskrivningsregler : Egenskaper hos omskrivningsregler till lättläst svenska

Studien ar en analysering av omskrivningsregler framtagna av Decker (2003), dessa omskrivningsregler har implementerats i ett verktyg som heter CogFLUX. Syftet med dessa omskrivningsregler ar att forenkla det svenska spraket och gora det mer lattlast. CogFLUX tar en given text som input och omskrivningsregler valjs ut och appliceras pa texterna med hjalp av verktyget. Detta verktyg returnerar sedan en omskriven text och de tre olika lasbarhetsmatten LIX, OVIX och NR for texten. Syftet med studien har varit att se huruvida olika permutationer av en given uppsattning omskrivningsregler ger olika resultat matt med lasbarhetsmatten samt om det finns kombinationer av omskrivningsregler som fungerar battre an andra.

Kopplingar mellan styrformer : En empirisk undersökning av styrpaketet i ett industriföretag

Eftersom att samhället förändras ställs nya krav på vad läskunnighet innebär. Bilder omgeross ständigt och förmedlar budskap i lika hög grad som skriven text enligt det vidgadetextbegreppet. Syftet med litteraturstudien var att undersöka vad forskningen säger omeffekterna av användandet av bilder i samband med läsutveckling med utgångspunkt ilärandepotential för eleverna.Artiklarna var åtta till antalet och innefattade fem kvantitativa undersökningar och trelitteraturstudier. De teman som har betydelse är i de kvantitativa artiklarna; inferenser,arbetsminne, ögonfixering, bildpreferenser, fysisk interaktion med bilder samt läsförståelse. Ilitteraturstudierna identifierades 4 olika teman; lärarens roll, meningsskapande genom bildoch text, elevers utveckling och vår tids krav.

Läsa ljud : Att formulera en texts auditiva kvaliteter visuellt

In printed text, sound is a somewhat forgotten aspect. The recitation of text is vital in areas like poetry and oratory, but still has no distinct technique of being communicated. Emphasis of a word might be expressed through italics, but no canonic character set or system for vocal delivery of texts exists. With this essay we are creating a foundation for a development of such a character set or system. By studying existing visualisations of sound and comparing these with semiotic and perception-based theories we obtain useful insights for a prospective system for visualisations of vocal sounds.We conclude that the aspects of sound one wants to visualise must be carefully defined since the viewer cannot process infinite amounts of information.

"...support must also sometimes include control!" A qualitative study regarding social service workers view of the secondary housing market

The aim of this study was to examine the view of social service workers on the secondary housing market based upon their work with social investigations regarding people with a difficult substance abuse. The foundation of this study rests upon a phenomenon, which according to other scholars, occurs in the secondary housing market in Sweden. The secondary housing market consists of a multitude of housing projects that social services provide for people who are homeless. The phenomenon is that the secondary housing market contains a number of demands aimed at the clients who live in these housing projects. If a client fails to live up to the demands it can sometimes lead to negative consequences which results in an exclusion from the housing projects.

Dagligt liv i Dalarnas medeltid - Ett försök att se dagligt liv och social struktur i ett gränsland

This paper deals whit the problems concerning social organisation in the county of Dalarna in middle Sweden during the Middle Ages 1050- 1528. This paper also deals whit the every day ife in Dalarna during the same period. In the paper archaeology, ethnology, history and osteology is used in order to create a so accurate as possibly picture of every day life at the farm, the villa and the keep. Each environment is compared to each other in order to try to see the social structure of the county. The geographic frame for the paper is the part of Sweden above the border zone of Limes Norrlandicus, or lower Norrland.The results presented in the paper shows that Dalarna most probably had a flat social organisation in the meaning that the every day life and its artefacts was much the same in all the environments.

Uppmärkning av skönlitterära verk ? en jämförelse mellan användningen av Text Encoding Initiative och Hypertext Markup Language

The aim of this thesis is to study and compare to what extent Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) and Text Encoding Initiative (TEI) support bibliographic description, metadata and mark-up of textual segments. The projects in the study comprise the Norwegian The Writings of Henrik Ibsen (Henrik Ibsens Skrifter) which applies the use of TEI, and Vitterhet society?s The collected works of CJL Almqvist (Vitterhetssamfundets CJL Almqvist Samlade Verk), which applies the use of HTML. The study showed that the Ibsen project provides its text with bibliographic description and metadata to a greater extent than the Almqvist project. The Almqvist project?s texts are provided with certain information about titles, authors and also information about source material and the electronic edition.

Till vilket pris? En kvalitativ studie om missbrukets påverkan på de sociala relationerna.

The aim of the study was to examine how substance abuse influences social relationships to families, friends and others. Five ex addicts in a treatment centre were interviewed. We used thematic interviews with themes that we regarded as relevant for our study. In the analysis we applied the theoretical concept of symbolic interactionism. Theories of emotions also helped us to explain feelings that arise in the social relationships.

The aim of the thesis was to explore the attitudes toward social documentation held by care personnel, as well as factors that could have an impact on the process of social documentation. The study is based on a survey encompassing 100 respondents working as care personnel at six different eldercare units at Kungsholmen in Stockholm. The data was analyzed by quantitative methods, using a statistical software package (SPSS). The main questions in the study are whether the respondents know how, what and why they should document, what obstacles they experience and what they would need in order to document more or better, as well as whether there are factors that influence their attitudes and knowledge regarding documentation. The key results show that more time is the most common need, and lack of time the most common obstacle to social documentation reported by the respondents. Furthermore, the results show that those who report that they are satisfied with their working conditions are most likely to also report that they know how and why social documentation should be conducted. These results suggest that it is urgent for organizations to create good working conditions in order to increase motivation for social documentation. The results are analyzed using organizational theories.

Socialpedagogiskt arbete i grundskolan - möjligheter och framtidSocial pedagogic work in compulsary school - potentials and future

This study illustrates the views of working socialpedagogues when it comes to socialpedagogical and social work within compulsary schools. The focus of the study is on how social problems can be prevented and get noticed among children and youths in compulsary school, and what possibilities of development there are in preventive social work. The socialpedagogue?s capability for supporting this development, together with people that are important in the children?s and youths?s lifes, opens up new possibilities in the future for the social work in schools. The main concepts in the study is treatment and attitude, interaction and cooperation with different people inside and outside the school as well as individual- and grouporientated work.

Muslimska kvinnans slöja : Undersökning av hur muslimska kvinnans slöja gestaltas i läromedel

The aim of this thesis was to study how social workers in social services in several municipalities perceive that they interpret the concept of domestic violence and how they believe they would act when it comes to different types of domestic violence. The thesis has focused on three types of violence; physical, psychological and economical. Seven social workers were interviewed with a thematised interview guide and six vignettes. The theoretical perspectives applied in the analysis were the process of normalization and the continuum of violence. The results showed that the social workers did not interpret domestic violence unanimous, and they had different ideas of how they would act in the vignettes.

"Det blir enklare om man ser bilder framför sig..." : En kvaltitativ undersökning som beskriver fyra elevers uppfattning av hur bilder främjar deras läroprocess och kunskapsutveckling i undervsiningen

Syftet med den här undersökningen är att belysa fyra elevers uppfattningar av hur bilder främjar deras kunskapsutveckling och läroprocess i undervisningen. Undersökningen innehåller fyra kvalitativa intervjuer med elever i årskurs fem och har en fenomenografisk ansats. I studien belyses kopplingen mellan Vygotskijs och Gardners teorier om kreativitet, utveckling, inlärning, social interaktion och bildämnets funktion i undervisningen. Den beskriver även Löfstedts sammanställning av fem teorier om barns bildspråkliga utveckling och Parsons teori om fem stadier av estetiskt förståelse.Resultatet av undersökningen visar på att de fyra eleverna använder bilder som ett visuellt hjälpmedel vid tolkning och förståelse av text och de använder det som studieteknik vid problemlösning i undervisningen. Eleverna har även olika individuella sätt för att ta in kunskap, exempelvis genom att göra skisser och sedan göra mentala problemlösningar eller att göra saker praktiskt med händerna.
