This report describes a thesis done at the Jönköping University of Technology. The aim of this thesis was to create conditions to optimize an existing automatic electrostatic coating system by changing the technology for dispensing lacquer. To select the technology, a study of different dispensing techniques carried out which concluded that the piezoelectric membrane and electrostatic atomization are the most interesting techniques.In order to perform tests with dispensing techniques a demonstrator has been optimized. The controller and PC software of the demonstrator has been programmed to be able to send out PWM signals that control the dispensers. An adapter card was designed to control the piezoelectric membrane and a steering link to the electrostatic atomization has been developed for PWM signals up to 500V.The work has laid ground for a demonstrator where further testing of the dispensing technologies can be performed..

The purpose of the project was to design an electric bicycle to offer thetarget group youth an attractive alternative to mopeds. The basis for theproject was user studies in which young people were interviewed andobserved in their daily environment.The project resulted in a product, designed with the focus of integratingthe battery to the shape, to create a wholeness that is simple andintuitive.!The product is easy to use and operate, with an automatic transmissionengine.! A smart modular system allows the user to choose design withmudguards, rear rack, or without. The battery design is based on "cradleto-cradle" to maximize the battery life and minimize environmentalimpacts.It was very fun and rewarding to have the opportunity to present theresults for the youth who showed great interest in the product.The project was conducted in collaboration with Designit and Cycleurope..

In the thesis we have shown that it is possible with current technology, to buildneighborhoods that are largely self-sufficient. We have obtained some information aboutongoing work in the field of energy efficient buildings and active house which we have usedto develop a model. The feasibility study for Ranagård we have e.g been forced tofollow laws on groundwater covered, resulting in the construction of basements for singlefamilyhome is not possible. The model that we have built up overtime has been the central part of the work. The model illustrates very well what an activehouse neighborhood means and potential of such an area.

With its many features and great flexibility, the smartphone has stormed the business world and become an alternative or complement to the laptop. As these mobile units' popularity has increased, the interest of businesses to invest in this new technology has increased, but has security kept up with the technology developments?This study aims to conduct a study to see if the companies in the IT industry have the same safety awareness for smart phones to laptops.The study shows that companies have greater safety awareness and higher safety requirements for laptops than smartphones. The physical map that has been used until now can in the modern days be replaced with digital maps available in smart phones and tablets. One disadvantage of both is that the digital maps require the user to have a fully functional sight. The problem with the research done so far is that it provides little explanation as to why developers have decided to design the maps in a specific way. This thesis has been designed to address this problem.In order to provide the knowledge needed, a literature study was done to construct interview questions to an employee from SG Access AB. These answers and the literature study were used to construct interview questions to members and employees from Synskadades Riksförbund  (SRF).

Denna kandidatuppsats baseras på en fallstudie om hur styrningsmodellen Lean har implementeras på OKQ8:s stationer. Studien ämnar vidare undersöka vilka faktorer som påverkar utfallet samt undersöka hur Lean har påverkat effektiviteten på stationerna. För att besvara detta har intervjuer genomförts med personal på OKQ8. Studien analyserar hur faktorer så som stress, arbetskraftsflexibilitet och delaktighet har påverkat utfallet av implementeringen. Vidare har även nyckeltal använts för att analysera om Lean har lett till att organisationen har blivit mer effektiv.

Detta examensarbete är utfört vid brytarenheten i Ludvika, den del av ABB Power Technologies High Voltage Products som utvecklar, tillverkar och säljer högspänningsbrytare. Brytare är en av de ingående delarna i ett ställverk och har till uppgift att bryta respektive sluta spänningen i ett kraftnät. Eftersom brytarna placeras ute i samhällen och vid olycka skulle orsaka stora skador är det viktigt att arbeta med kvalitet. Detta sker genom att alla producerade brytares funktion säkerställs med hjälp av en rutinprovning före leverans till kund. Syftet med examensarbetet är att genomföra ett förbättringsprojekt för att identifiera faktorer som påverkar brytarenhetens First Pass Yield, ett mätetal i rutinprovningen.

The aim of this report is to give a concise description of curtain walls, what it is and why they are used. It is also a description of six different but commonly used design technologies. By giving a detailed description of the different types and there special properties, the pros and cons will be clarified. The three most interesting alternatives were selected to be included in a test, to show the best alternative from a certain point of view.The parameters are:? Environment? Cost? Ergonomics? Isolation against noise and fire? DurabilityThese are important parameters in the planning and design phase.

This study aims to explore how self scanning affects consumers impulse buying. Up til this day researchers are not aware how technologies like self scanning affects consumers behavior in-store. Consumers with self scanners are able to keep track of the rising sum, which could affect their buying behavior, especially when it comes to impulse purchase. Furthermore customers have to commit to scanning products which keep them from browsing the store for offers, which could limit the impulse buying. This study undertake a descriptive methodology with Beatty and Ferrells impuls model from 1998 as a theoretical platform where we examine disparities between self scanners and non self scanners.

The concept of IT has developed into ICT (Information- and Communication Technology) over the years. ICT has an increasing impact in society and the Swedish curriculum (Lpo 94) highlights the importance of school to convey lasting knowledge that constitutes the general frame of reference that everyone in society is in need of. The purpose of this study was to find out how teachers perceive and use ICT in secondary school and discover the teachers? vision concerning ICT.The used approach for the study is a qualitative research with a basis of interviews. Four interviews are made with teachers from the early years of secondary school, at two different schools.

In this paper we examine how young women present themselves on their weblogs. The main purpose of this study is to get their own opinions and thoughts about their own blogging, to see if we can find norms for how they present themselves and how the presentation online matches themselves offline. We put this in relation to information technologies, social software and Computer mediated communication, CMC. It´s also in our interest to see how the phenomenon of blogs, its role and methods of communication have changed and developed in the last few years, and whether there are differences in the way people use it according to age. The major finding is that, unlike previous research, the women in our study tend to be themselves in their weblogs and they do not manipulate their identities.

The purpose of this study was to examine how food managers of Östergötland County disucss around their possibilities of reaching the government´s orientation towards 25 per cent of the food - procured, prepared and cooked in the school meal - coming from certified organic production. The study was a cross-sectional study in wich a qualitative approach was used. The sample consisted six food managers in Östergötland. Data processing was done through a semantic content analysis.  The result showed that involvment and intrest were significant factors for the introduction of organic food in the school meal. The three municipalities with the highest percentage of organic food used the SMART - concept.

This paper aims to study the possibilities and challenges the car industry has to face with applying information technology in cars. The goal is to describe and analyse all the existing technology in the cars out on the market today as well as future possible technologies in cars. By interviewing people who has been working or are working with information technology in cars, we aim to clarify the obstacles and opportunities in the process of implementing informatics in cars. With this knowledge we want to learn more about Ubiquitous computing and how humans interact with Ubiquitous computers today and will be interacting in the future. Technology has a rapid development pace and we find it interesting to examine how the car industry can keep up with the rapid development pace of technology. .

Abstract In this report I describe the Health Care Advice Bureau?s (sjukvårdsrådgivningen) historical background, proposals for its development according to a committee from the Blekinge County Council (Landstinget Blekinge), the Health Care Advice Bureau?s cooperation with different external operators e.g. the SOS and the Care Centers [Vårdcentraler]. I account for how I, in the same county council, aided by ethnographical methods observed or investigated the following: The nurses? interaction with the patients, the nurses? interaction among themselves, the nurses? participation in the development of the system and also the computer based system?s technical qualifications.
