In the forest sector, non-industrial private forest (NIPF) owners commonly interact with numerous stakeholders (e.g. forest managers, timber buyers, harvesting contractors and advisors) for counseling, planning, selling and hiring. Forest management is therefore built and influenced by the relationships between NIPF owners and other stakeholders. In the local context of a Southern Sweden, the Swedish Forest Agency (SFA) and the Southern Forest Owners Association (SÖDRA) are very influential stakeholders in small-scale forest management. Based on qualitative interviews and by means of grounded theory, an analysis of the relationships between NIPF owners and the mentioned organizations was carried out in order to understand the social context at the genesis of forest management decisions.

Higher demands of competitiveness and efficiency have led to increasing sizes of farms, with more land, more capital and more comprehensive logistics. The aim is to gain benefits of scale economies that reduce the production cost per unit. However, a greater extent of the business exposes the farm of increased risk where small deviations rapidly can erase the benefits. A modern dairy farm thus put high demands on the farmer?s ability to coordinate, plan and manage the forage production through the whole process until storage to obtain silage of the desired quality and quantity at the right price. In the last decade, member states of the European Union have adopted a range of measures to decrease the dependency on fossil fuels. This has led to an increased use of biomass in heat and power production. In some countries, the lack of forest resource has led to large scale power producers importing their biomass needs. Due to high energy content and homogeneity, wood pellets have become an internationally traded commodity used for large scale power production. The Baltic States have emerged as one of the largest wood pellet exporting regions in Europe.

For many years, there has been a housing shortage in Sweden. Many have been expecting a construction boom in the housing sector, but that has yet to arrive. With the current legislations and guidelines surrounding modern, energy efficient housing; production costs have increased dramatically in recent years. As a result, having a negative effect on housing production despite the high demand for homes.This exam work is carried out on a construction project of Sjötorpshus AB and its purpose is to evaluate how to optimise the construction process for the production of a new residential settlement, "Kv.Hunden", located in Katrineholm. This report contains results of our study at CTC in Ljungby. CTC produces heating products such as boilers, heat pumps and additional products to their heating systems.The purpose of the report is to make a proposal how CTC will supply their new production line for heat pumps with materials. The proposal includes a production layout and a scheme for how to place the material in the production storage.The new production line will produce two different products and both of them have several variants. The line will also have a mixed flow, so the products can be produced in a random order. These conditions demand that the production line has great flexibility and that the material to all the variants can be stored in the production storage.With these conditions as input we made a layout proposal to the company.

I detta examensarbete för Högskoleingenjörsprogrammet för elkraft gjordes i arbetets första del en uppskattning och modellering av substrattillgången för en föreslagen mindre biogasanläggning lokaliserad i Övertorneå. Anläggningen förses med substrat från jordbruk, avfall från reningsverk och matavfall från båda Övertorneå och Ylitornio kommuner. Dessutom ingick en modellering av möjlig biogasproduktion och bedömning av lämplig biogasanvändning. I denna modellering ingår även en bedömning av om substrattransporterna är energimässigt hållbara.De möjliga användningarna för gasen är värmeproduktion, kraftvärmeproduktion, fordonsgasproduktion och vätgasproduktion för både fordon och kraftvärme med bränslecell. Slutsatsen var att det lämpligaste alternativet var en biogasen bör användas till kraftvärmeproduktion av traditionell sort men att i framtiden kanske en uppgradering till kraftvärme från vätgas med biogas vara möjlig om tekniken bedöms vara mogen.

Behovet av energisnålare och miljövänligare processer är stort i samhället i dag. Syftet med projektet var att ta fram energisnålare avfuktningsmetoder för biogas, som sedermera ersätter naturgas. Vidare var det önskvärt att undersöka möjligheten att avfukta gasen ytterligare för att undvika kondensering i ledningen under transportering.Energiberäkningar har genomförts, där nuvarande förbrukning ställts mot undersökta alternativ. Vidare beräknades, för alternativen, såväl dimensionering som preliminära investeringskostnader för nödvändig utrustning. Även miljöpåverkan undersöktes för varje metod.Rapporten visar på möjligheten att energieffektivisera processen och dessutom öka avfuktningen.

Vi lever i en värld som konsumerar en allt större mängd energi. Att minska den icke förnyelsebara energianvändningen är en mycket viktig del för ett långsiktigt hållbartsamhälle. Sjöstad är ett av flera reningsverk i Sverige som rötar avloppsslam för att utvinna ett av framtidens bränslen; Biogas. Framställningen av biogas sker genom anaerob nedbrytning, en känslig process som lätt störs av yttre faktorer, som temperatursvängningar och förändringar av substratsammansättning. För att anaerob nedbrytning ska fungera optimalt krävs exakt rätt koncentrationer av näringsämnen i reaktorerna.I detta projekt har en rad olika mikronäringsämnen, som metaller, salter och vitaminer testats för att se om en tillsats av något av dessa kan öka Sjöstads biogasproduktion.

Biogas har anva?nts som fordonsbra?nsle i Sverige sedan bo?rjan av 90-talet som ett fo?rnyelsebart alternativ till naturgas. Fo?rst till bussflottor och sedan slutet av 90-talet a?ven till personbilar. Biogasproduktionen i Sverige har sedan slutet av 90-talet varit omkring 1,5 TWh per a?r.

Det har sedan bilens uppkomst funnits samhällsdebatter kring vilket bränsle som är mest passande. Trots att fossila bränslen dominerar som fordonsbränsle, har debatten om alternativa bränslen pågått under en längre tid. Syftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka en del av denna debatt. Inriktningen är fokuserad på el och biogas som alternativa bränslen i Sverige. Ett antal debattartiklar ur tidsskrifter har valts ut och analyserats med en diskursanalytisk metod.

Many of the old local breeds have become extinct or are about to become extinct because of this trend.

This thesis is part of the evaluation of a development project in Serbia, where cooperativeshave been formed in order to make the members support themselves trough organic farming.The purpose of the paper has been to find out if the goal of making the current members andpotential new members able to support themselves on what the cooperatives produce, hasbeen reached. The goal is to be considered as partly fulfilled; according to the last annualreport from Odraz, ?the registered cooperatives have become fully functional and stable andthey have started making some modest profit.???the majority of the beneficiaries think thatthey are self-reliant??. In order to find out what is required in order to fulfil the establishedgoal entirely, (for example there are no reports of that new members have been recruited, andthe fact that most, not all, current members of the cooperatives (the beneficiaries) say thatthey are supplied from what the cooperatives produce), I have tried to identify the conditionswhich the cooperatives operate under. The basis of the paper consists of a literature review,interviews with the directors of the cooperatives, a questionnaire dealing with the businessenvironment and various external sources in Serbia..

Insufficient intake of vegetables is a reason for micronutrient deficiencies and malnutrition in developing countries. With urbanization, globalization and a growing world population it is of major importance to secure sufficient food supply for the world?s population. Part of the solution to increased food security among the world?s poor could be the introduction of vegetable home gardens, plots for small scale vegetable production which can provide households with sufficient vegetables as well as serve as an extra income source.
