AbstractObjective: To investigate the occurrence of and the risk factors for falls and to  investigate level of fall-related self-efficacy and health-related quality of life in people living in community living, 75 years or older within Uppsala and Västmanlands county. A further aim was to identify predictive risk factors for falls. Design: A cross-section study with a descriptive, comparative and correlative design based on a questionnaire was used. Participants: The participants were recruited from Uppsala and Västmanlands county. A random selection on 525 individuals was done, from a population based sample, in the detailed municipalities.

Because of among other things the globalization and a focus on core competencies knowledge has become very important for the companies of today, especially for research-intensive companies. The problem is that the companies become more sensitive to how knowledge is created and spread, that is, how organizational knowledge is created. Especially sensitive are companies who are small, young and research-intensive. The purpose with this thesis is to explore how organizational knowledge is created in small, young and research intensive companies.The theory is based on a five-phase model of organizational knowledge creation and four modes of knowledge conversion described by Nonaka and Takeuchi (1995). These concepts constitute the foundation of the analytical model used in the thesis.The study is carried out by qualitative, highly structured interviews with low standardization.

This paper is an attempt to distinguish the specifics of the conflict resolution process and the negotiations during trade conflicts. First of all, this kind of conflict almost always contains some kind of protectionism which doesn?t make sense economically. Imposing trade-barriers decrease the overall welfare of your own nation and the only winner is the protected sector. These policies can be introduced since the political pressure from threatened industries is usually much stronger than the pressure from the consumers who will bear the burden of protectionism.

Syftet för den här undersökningen är att försöka se och belysa vad som utmärker verksamheten i en barngrupp på en mångkulturell förskola. Detta syfte har delats in i tre frågeställningar-     Vad har pedagogerna för pedagogiska tankar kring sin verksamhet?-     Hur arbetar pedagogerna med språk?-     Hur ser samarbetet mellan förskola och hem ut?Undersökningsmetoden för arbetet har varit kvalitativa intervjuer med fem pedagoger som arbetar med mångkulturella barngrupper.Resultaten jag har fått fram kring vad som utmärker sig under de olika frågeställningsrubrikerna visar att pedagogerna menar att de;-     arbetar mer konkret än i icke mångkulturella förskolor, och att de försöker vara mer närvarande i barnens lek, för att hjälpa barnen med sin tvåspråkighet;-     upplever att personal med annat modersmål än svenska är en stor tillgång i verksamheten, likväl som resursen modersmålspedagog, som finns i de rektorsområden jag gjort min undersökning i. De uppger även att de uppmuntrar barnen att använda olika språk i förskolan;-     tycker att samarbetet mellan förskolan och föräldrarna fungerar bra, och att föräldrarna är delaktiga i verksamheten. De poängterar även att kontakten med föräldrarna är viktig, och att man måste vara tydlig, då det kan vara språkförbistringar..

Ska Sveriges polismyndigheter fortsättningsvis ges befogenhet att ha egna lokala insatsstyrkor? Lars Engström, länspolismästare i Örebro län, har fått i uppdrag av Rikspolisstyrelsen att utreda detta. Åsikterna och lösningsförslagen på denna frågeställning är många och skiftande. Engström vill ge Rikspolisstyrelsen en starkare samordnande roll och lägga ner de lokala insatsstyrkorna. Han vill låta de nationella resurserna, bestående av den Nationella insatsstyrkan och de tre storstädernas piketenheter, verka nationellt över hela landet.

The aim with this essay has been to see how students use drinking-songs and what function they have. I have also wanted to see how the traditions are carried on between the students. In order to do this, I have been observing three parties organised by three different student associations at Växjö University: Västkustens nation, Föreningarnas Festeri and Isterbandet. I have interviewed five people that have been attending the dinners. I have used Alan Merriam?s theory of use/function and made interpretations of his theory.

En ännu förbisedd och relativt oetablerad aktör i Sveriges offentliga rum är deurbana odlingsinitiativen. Den av stadsinvånarna initierade odlingen utforskarhållbara handlingsmönster, och skapar en plattform där medborgaren tillåts samlasina kunskaper och åsikter om det offentliga rummet. Genom att undersöka hurdessa odlingsgrupper samarbetar med kommunen, vill jag utreda hur dettasamarbete kan utvecklas till en lokal demokrati.Syftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka hur dessa odlingsinitiativ kananvändas som en resurs vid stadsplanering. Uppsatsen ger en övergripandeinblick i dialogen och samarbetet mellan kommunala tjänstemän och två lokalaodlingsinitiativ i Uppsala. För att undersöka vilka förutsättningar ett samarbetehar, och hur detta gestaltar sig har litteratursökningar i ämnet utförts.

Abstract The aim of this paper is to investigate whether Vara municipality has a continuous picture of their identity, profile and image. Globalization has contributed to the increasingly growing of place marketing. Therefore, the study goes on to using the concepts of identity, profile and image to find out if Vara Municipality communicates similar throughout the whole organization and find out their all through core values. Globalisation will be an interpretive framework for the work that describes why the place marketing is becoming more pressing. The sense of place will be a central part of this study as it is the feelings and images of different places that will be described by the municipality together with the identity, profile and image.

Arbetskraftens rörlighet är ett centralt begrepp för ett lands ekonomiska utveckling. I Sverige kan man se en stark utvecklingsinriktning mot ökad rörlighet i arbetslivet. Syftet med denna uppsats var att göra en fördjupad studie för att undersöka vilka faktorer som påverkar de anställdas rörlighet på Sandvik SMC i Stockholm. För att genomföra undersökningen använde sig författarna av en fallstudie och kvantitativ undersökningsmetod i form av en enkätundersökning. Uppsatsen utgick från en deduktiv ansats då enkäten och resultatet utformades och tolkades utifrån vald referensram.

Många av de verksamheter som bedrivs på landsbygden genererar mervärden för allmänheten. Förutom livsmedel och energi ger verksamheter på landsbygden bland annat öppna landskap och en levande landsbygd, som de kan subventioneras för genom landsbygdsprogrammet. Under 2014 inleds den nya programperioden för landsbygdsprogrammet som sträcker sig till 2020. Programmet ska sträva efter målsättningarna inom EU2020 strategin som är en hållbar och smart tillväxt för alla. För att få bäst effekt av det ekonomiska stöd som kan sökas ur det kommande programmet tar samtliga länsstyrelser fram regionala urvalskriterier, som handläggare vid länsstyrelsen kan använda vid bedömning av ansökningar för stöd, och som är anpassade efter länets förutsättningar, behov och prioriteringar.

The aim of this Master´s thesis is to examine which type of regime the state Iran is. There has been much research on this issue and the discussion is not over yet. I have departed from three theoretical perspectives in order to understand which type of regime the Middle Eastern nation is: theocracy, democracy and hybrid regime. The theocratic regimetype is composed by David L. Websters archeological theory about governments ruled by God.

This essay is a comparison according to the ideological thoughts about womens position in the society of Mao Zedong och Josef Stalin. The material I have analysed is writings by Mao and Stalin, in a wide range from leaflets to orders to the armies of the states of China and the Soviet Union. The method I have used is an ideological analysis where the attitude towards women is the target for my survey. The attitude towards women generally was not unified in the world during the time for Mao and Stalin. In many countries the women was intended to take care of the children and the home, not be active in working and fighting.

Unaccompanied minors who are fleeing and being sent way from their countries of origin are nothing new. In 2011, 12 225 unaccompanied minors where registered in The European Union, none undocumented minors included. Most of the minors are coming from Afghanistan and Somalia. The aim of this essay is to investigate how The European Union?s migration policies are applied in reality and how United Nation?s Convention on the Right of Children are put in practice by the member states of The European Union and Norway.

The aim of the paper is to explore the dominating perception of the Other after the conflict regarding the Danish Mohammed caricatures. How Swedish newspapers have portrayed Arabs, which role they have been given in society and what problems they are struggling with is going to be the focus of this thesis.As methodological approach I chose discourse analysis, since it presents a view where language defines and structures our understanding of reality. Through the study of various Swedish newspaper articles, this essay tries to illustrate the implicit yet existent negative image of the Arabs as a group and potential alternative ways of understanding the Other.The perception of Arabs is a product of a necessary imaginary foe, a mirror image of the bad and strange in contrast to the idyllic and safe Swedish nationality. The rhetoric?s of the discourse are therefore constructed between a politics of acknowledgement and a will to culturally dominate the Other.

This qualitative study focuses on the investigation of different actor?s ideas concerning gender and womanhood in a post-socialist nation Bosnia and Herzegovina. The aim of this study is to try to provide experiences and attitudes of one not a new, but definitely one constantly changing phenomenon, trafficking in women for sexual exploitation. The qualitative data is mainly collected through nine interviews with people from Bosnian Governments, International organizations and NGOs during my stay in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The causes to trafficking are complex and intertwined but it directly relates to gender discrimination and attitudes on sexual relationships between women and men.
