The purpose of this master's thesis is to investigate how the students at Chalmers University of Technology at Lindholmen in Gothenburg use libraries in their schoolwork. The empirical material consists of the answers of questionnaires that were handed out to two classes of students, on the second year of their education. To illustrate the topic there are a theoretical frame and examples of earlier studies. The theoretical frame is Limbergs texts that deal with for example information seeking and how important it is in all education. The earlier studies are about student's different ways of using libraries.

The aim of our study was to increase the awareness of the importance of implementation when a policy document is widely introduced. We wanted to examine how a political decision was implemented on different levels in a social care administration. We also wanted to examine the discretion related to the decision on different levels in the organisation, and if the work is followed up. The theoretical frame of reference in our study is Vedung?s implementation model and Lipsky?s theory about street-level bureaucrats.

Ett gruvbolag har ansökt om tillstånd att få starta en gruva i Jokkmokks kommun. Detta har skapat en stor debatt om vad en gruvetablering kan innebära för Jokkmokks kommun. Frågan om nya gruvetableringar är ett exempel på en policykonflikt. Syftet med uppsatsen är att förstå aktörernas olika synsätt om gruvetableringsprocessen samt hur de olika synsätten i sin tur påverkar deras handlingsstrategier. Aktörerna som utforskas är JIMAB, Socialdemokraterna i Jokkmokk, Urbergsgruppen i Jokkmokk samt samebyarna Jåhkågasska och Sirges.

The aim of this thesis is to study the conditions three public libraries have to be a resource for university students. The libraries are all situated at a distance from universities that allow the students to commute between the university and their homes. These students often make the same demands on the public library as they do on the university library. In order to conduct this study the frame factor theory has been used. This theory was developed by pedagogic scholars during the 1960s and focuses on how the framework surrounding the school affects the learning results.

År 2009 antog IMO en ny resolution som innebär att ett nytt instrument gradvis kommer införas som obligatorisk standardutrustning på fartygsbryggan. Detta system förkortas BNWAS vilket står för Bridge Navigational Watch Alarm System och är kortfattat ett dödmansalarm som syftar till att varna vid otillräcklig aktivitet på bryggan. Detta system har funnits en tid men blir nu obligatoriskt ombord. Detta påverkar arbetssituationen och arbetsmiljön för vakthavande styrmän. Denna studie syftar till att undersöka vad styrmän som arbetar med systemet har för uppfattning och åsikter om systemet.

This is a thesis written for a master's degree at the Computer Vision Laboratory, University of Linköping. An abstract outer product is defined and used as a bridge to reach 2:nd and 4:th order tensors. Some applications of these in geometric analysis of range data are discussed and illustrated. In idealized setups, simple geometric objects, like spheres or polygons, are successfully detected. Finally, the generalization to n:th order tensors for storing and analysing geometric information is discussed..

Metod: Uppsatsen är en kvalitativ studie som till stor del grundas på semistrukturerade intervjuer med tre svenska fallföretag inom modebranschen med produktion i Kina. Uppsatsen har en abduktiv ansats. Teoretiska perspektiv: Uppsatsen har främst två teoretiska baser, Hofstedes teori rörande skillnader i nationella kulturer samt Scheins tre kulturnivåer.

Syftet med denna uppsats har varit att försöka besvara frågan: Vilka attityder och värderingar kommer till uttryck i Lars Ohlys respektive Göran Hägglunds användning av metaforer i debatten om arbetslöshetspolitiken? Jag har valt att studera de metaforer som förekommer när det gäller arbetslösa, arbetslöshet och den egna politiken i frågan. Jag har också analyserat de metaforer som används när de talar om/bemöter sina motståndare och deras politik. De artefakter jag har använt i min undersökning är två tal samt en TV-sänd partiledardebatt.Min ena hypotes var att det i talarens val av metaforer döljer sig attityder och värderingar som kanske inte syns vid ett oreflekterat mottagande av talarens budskap. Efter att ha studerat de båda partiledarnas val och användning av metaforer vill jag, till viss del,  påstå att en stor del av metaforerna öppet signalerar attityder och värderingar, inte minst när de tillskriver varandra negativa sådana.

In Sweden there are currently two separate guidelines you may use whenperforming calculations on frameworks, BKR and the Eurocodes. Although at theend of 2010 you are not allowed to use BKR any longer and only the Eurocodeswill be viable. The aim of this thesis is to explain how the Eurocodes and EKS work and alsohow they compare to the current guideline BKR. Similarities and differencesbetween these guidelines are also discussed so that the reader will get a betterunderstanding of how the Eurocodes are applied. Syftet med följande studie var att undersöka hur olycksanalysmetoderna CREAM och DREAM kan anpassas till sjöfartsdomänen, samt hur begreppet den mänskliga faktorn kan beskrivas och hur kan den analyseras. Teoristudier samt intervjuer med anställda vid sjöfartsinspektionen och domänexperter har genomförts. Ett förslag på hur en anpassad analysmetod skulle kunna se ut redovisas som BREAM (Bridge Reliability and Error Analysis Method). Den anpassade metoden har utvärderats med hjälp av experter inom domänen. Utvärderingen visar på att metoden fungerar bra men att ytterligare specificering av metoden till domänen är önskvärt..

The task was to deliver a solution that could be implemented in today?s production of the FH truck. To make the project successful it was most important that the end result had a high maturity level. For that reason an analysis of ergonomic, laws and regulations, and possible materials where conducted.
