Bakgrund: Att föda barn är en av de mest betydelsefulla händelserna i en kvinnas liv. Direkt efter förlossningen sker den första interaktionen mellan mamma och barn. Om barnet behöver avancerat omhändertagande bryts den första interaktionen. Tidigare forskning visar att interaktion och tidig hud mot hud kontakt mellan mamma och barn är betydelsefullt för anknytningen. För att kunna främja anknytningen och stödja den nyblivna mamman måste barnmorskan ha kunskaper i vad som påverkar mammors upplevelser av en separation med deras nyfödda barn.

Cultural objects may become wet by deliberate water cleaning, water disaster or watersoaked for other reasons. Air drying textile objects and even other organic materials from awater wet state, involves many problems depending on the strong capillarity action of water.Damages and changes such as bleeding of dyes, stains or lines of impurities from watermovement, shrinking or stiffness can occur. Freeze-drying as an alternative drying methodhas often been used for wet archaeological and marine objects, but more seldom for historicalmaterials.This bachelor thesis addresses the issue of whether freeze-drying can be an alternative controlleddrying method for historic costumes. Costumes and related objects are often compositeobjects, consisting of multiple materials, as well as being three dimensional, all of whichwill complicate drying. The purpose of this study was to investigate whether it is possible tohandle costume objects after wet cleaning for drying by freeze-drying, and if damages due tosurface tension of water, can be avoided in this way.

Höghastighetsfilmning är en teknik som ofta används inom rörelseforskning på häst, särskilt för att registrera ledrörelse. Reflektoriska hudmarkörer sätts på anatomiska landmärken, vilka sedan filmas med höghastighetskameror. En felkälla med dessa mätningar är att huden förskjuts jämfört med underliggande skelett. Detta fenomen beskrevs första gången i början av 1900-talet och har sedan dess studerats relativt omfattande framför allt för hästens extremiteter men även för ryggen. Däremot har hudförskjutningen på halsen inte studerats tidigare och det var syftet med det här arbetet. Halskotorna på fem hästar markerades med röntgentäta hudmarkörer för att sedan röntgas i olika positioner, normal position, placerad ?i form? med välvd nacke och nosen i lodrätt plan samt med ?nos mot karpus?.

Male piglets have been castrated for centuries to avoid contamination of their meat with boar taint, a strongly unpleasant odour that makes the meat inedible. Today boar taint can be prohib-ited by vaccination against gonadotropin releasing hormone (GnRH) using Improvac®. The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficiency of vaccination on growth performance and behaviour of vaccinated male pigs compared to surgically castrated male pigs. The effect of two feeding regimes, restricted (SLU-norm) and semi ad libitum, was also included in the study. At birth, pigs (n=206) were randomly allocated to the two treatment groups; surgically castrated and vaccination.

Det här arbetet har vidareutvecklat spelmotorn Nebula 3 genom att implementera ett sätt att inkludera grafiska användargränssnitt i spel skapade med motorn, samt en nästan färdig ny pipeline för att skapa animerade karaktärer för motorn. Det grafiska användargränssnittet implementerades med ett tredjepartsbibliotek kallat CEGUI. Den nya pipelinen går ut på att man exporterar en FBX-fil med all grafisk data som sedan läses in och konverteras till Nebula 3s format. Inläsningen sker med hjälp av Autodesks FBX SDK. Filerna som Nebula 3 behöver är en fil med animationsinformation, en fil med Skin-information samt en fil som knyter ihop dessa.

Background: Pressure ulcers are a common problem and cause great suffering for those who develop it, and are also an expensive cost to the society. Aim: To describe nursing measures for prevention of pressure ulcers among elderly people in ordinary and nursing homes. Method: A literature review by structured analyze of scientific articles. Result: The analyze resulted in six subjects for prevention of pressure ulcers. These subjects were; risk assesment, nutrition, repositioning, Skin/hygiene, nurse knowledge and documentation.

In the Swedish abattoirs there are assistants that judge the slaughtered animals in regard to diseases and injuries. All diseases and injuries assign different codes. This master?s thesis is about code 42 which means injuries of different kinds like for example bruises etc. These injuries have risen during the transport from the farm to the abattoir lairage or during the stay at the lairage before slaughter.

The purpose of this master?s thesis is to examine how femininity, Silikon, Vecko Revyn, and Darling. The study is made from a critical discourse analytical approach and text, pictures, and layout are all analysed. There are however still many ways of improving theorganic population of pigs to make them more adjusted to the organic environment; forexample different traits brought into the breeding goals and the choice of good parent animals..

Thick Skin in Texas - an investigation on storytelling and pictorial language. I took my starting point in a story about the cowboy Jaquin, who goes to the Tivoli, where he gets caught up in a dramatic adventure. I extracted three scenes from this story, and I experimented with whether it was possible to make the separate scenes tell their own story, in three separate drawings. Without depending on the frame story or on any kind of text. In this project I partly wanted to explore the possibilities of the drawing.

Alla patienter som genomgår någon typ av operation där man penetrerar huden har en ökad risk att drabbas av en postoperativ sårinfektion. Syftet var att utforska de preoperativa åtgärderna huddesinfektion och hårborttagning relaterat till uppkomsten av postoperativa sårinfektioner. Metoden var en systematisk litteratur studie där nio artiklar användes som underlag. Resultatet visade att klorhexidin reducerar bakterierna på huden, men ingen signifikant minskning av antalet postoperativa sårinfektioner kunde påvisas. Rapporten innefattar en jämförande studie mellan olika typer av membran och beläggningar.Främst sker en jämförelse mellan materialens förmåga att andas. Vattentäthet testas på nyamaterial och efter olika sorters nötning så som martindale, flexing och tvätt för att få en ökadförståelse för materialen. Verktyget som används i studien för att mätaånggenomsläppligheten är hudmodellen. Resultatet presenteras med ett Ret-värde vilket är enförkortning på Evaporative resistance of a textile. Metoden används för att på ett bra sättsimulera hur huden svettas.Projektet har utförts på Swerea IVF som är ett forskningsinstitut beläget i Mölndal.Hudmodellen är en av de senaste stora investeringarna på Swereas textil och plast avdelning.Resultatet av studien visar att laminat andas bättre än beläggningar, dock har bärarmaterialetstor inverkan på resultaten.

Cochlear BAS AB is a daughter company to Cochlear Limited based in Sydney, Australia. Cochlear BAS AB is situated in Gothenburg and with its 150 employees develop and manufacture the Baha?system.

The purpose of this study is to describe melanotic tumours and the pathogenesis of these tumours. The focus of this study is on differences between benign and malignant tumours as well as the prognosis one may expect when diagnosing this disease. The mechanisms responsible for the occurrences of the tumours are not yet fully understood. It is believed that factors such as chronic trauma, infections, medications and hormones affect the cell mechanisms in some way. Determinants of the malignancy of the tumour are not completely known.
