This is a two year master's thesis in the field of museum and cultural heritage studies. The purpose of the thesis is to examine different opinions among museum employees about the role of museums. The thesis also aims to find out to what extent and in what way these opinions are influenced by the museum's own policy documents, the national cultural policy and the academic field of museum studies. I have conducted qualitative research interviews with six employees from three different cultural history museums. The theoretical framework of the thesis is based on Laruajane Smith's term authorized heritage discourse.

Den här uppsatsen har till syfte att undersöka om fusioner och fusionsvågor i Sverige mellan 1986 och 2013 kan förklaras av felvärderingsteorin. Enligt teorin uppstår fusioner mellan en köpare som är relativt övervärderad jämfört med målbolaget på en övervärderad marknad. Fusionsvågor uppstår då fusionsaktiviteten under en period är ovanligt hög. Vi undersöker felvärderingen med hjälp av en uppdelad ?Market-to-Book? där två komponenter ingår: en kortsiktig och en långsiktig felvärdering.

The purpose of this thesis is to examine a selection of ideological publishing houses in Sweden today. We want to examine where they are situated in the literary society, their terms and prerequisites. This is achieved through interviews with informants from each of the publishing houses, which we analyze with concepts from the culture sociologist Pierre Bourdieu. The publishing houses are also put in context through information from other actors in the literary field, together with previous research and other material about the Swedish book market. The main research problem in the thesis is to examine the relations between the selected publishing houses ? which profile themselves as ideological ? and the literary field where they exist.

In this thesis I set out to study how the reading of fictional literature is viewed, legitimatized and operationalized in two educational domains: the recently revised steering documents that all Swedish teachers must relate to, as well as a selection of teaching materials designed for education in the Swedish language for upper secondary school. The teaching material I have studied has been recently updated in order to correspond with the new steering documents. I relate my analysis to previous research about the use of fiction in education, and I also combine my analysis of the two educational domains to see whether the underlying intentions of the steering documents have influenced the revision of the teaching material. The outcome indicates that the steering documents? previous focus on culture has diminished although a certain insecurity as to how to use the concept and deal with the issue of whose culture should be taught can be identified.

Under de senaste decennierna har intresset för matematikinlärning intensifierats och särskilt fokus har ägnats åt metakognition och mer specifikt i en riktning mot lärares och elevers uppfattningar. Åtskilliga studier har sagt sitt och det råder numera vetenskaplig konsensus kring att uppfattningar spelar en betydelsefull roll i matematikundervisning och för utfallet avelevers lärande. Sett till en sådan bakgrund har syftet för den förevarande studien varit att undersöka gymnasieelevers matematikrelaterade uppfattningar som en ansats till att erhålla en inblick i om eleverna omfattar uppfattningar som kan påverka den beteendemässiga relationen till det matematiska lärandet. I ett led att finna svar på det eftersökta har sju kvalitativa intervjuer med fenomenografisk ansats utförts tillsammans med en enkätundersökning på ett större urval. Studiens resultat indikerar att eleverna uppfattningsmässigt förhåller sig till den egna inlärningen på kvalitativt skilda sätt, att många elever har felaktiga uppfattningar och att det är möjligt att urskilja passiva och aktiva attityder till det matematiska lärandet..

The purpose of this Masters thesis is to investigate the role of link collections in Swedish public libraries mediation of Internet resources. The study is focusing on the effects on the contents and the structure in the link collections when the target group is immigrant users. This is done through literature studies completed with an examination of two link collections containing multi-cultural and multi-lingual material and qualitative interviews with the two librarians who are in charge of the collections. The major questions raised in this study are: What function do the link collections have for the public libraries? What is the difference in working with traditional, printed material compared to the work with Internet resources? And how are the selection of Internet resources and the structure of the link collections affected when the collection is intended for immigrant users? The main results are that link collections in public libraries can give a concrete form to political guidelines.

Type 2 diabetes is a growing disease in the population which includes that older people are a risk group. With the disease grows even cost?s. A lifestyle change is a major part of the treatment for type 2 diabetes. There are several factors that suggest positive effects on prevention among the elderly where, among other things, economic and health benefits are presented.

Sheep breeding contributes not only with wool, hides, meat and milk but also with openlandscapes. The sheep?s wool is a good raw material thanks to a lot of different qualities as itis water rejecting and easy to form. The wool production today is concentrated to specificplaces in the world which leads to environmental problems and a distorted market. InJämtland, a province in Sweden, there is right now a staking going on for local production andrefining of wool in a project called Ullforum.

Syftet med uppsatsen är att undersöka vilka adjektiv som används för att beskriva flickor respektive pojkar i barnlitteratur, samt hur flickor och pojkar i lågstadiet väljer att beskriva sig själva. Jag har utgått från fem barnböcker, samtliga skrivna av Astrid Lindgren, och utifrån dem gjort en kompletterande enkätundersökning med en grupp lågstadiebarn.I de utvalda böckerna plockades samtliga personbeskrivande adjektiv ut, för att därefter kategoriseras semantiskt efter sin betydelse. Med ett urval av de utplockade orden skapades därefter enkäten.Den semantiska kategoriseringen visar att flickor och pojkar beskrivs med delvis skilda ord, samt att pojkar totalt sett beskrivs med en större variation av ord. Enkätundersökningen visar att när barnen beskriver sig själva så verkar de inte vara så bundna till könsföreställningar, men när de däremot ska knyta ord till ett specifikt kön är de väldigt samstämmiga och målar upp motsatsbilder av exempelvis den svaga flickan och den starka pojken..

The purpose of the study was to investigate how inventories of suspected polluted areas as a part of the planned control of existing companies cab be designed in order to achieve as great effect as possible. The study was conducted in cooperation with Piteå municipality. An analysis of regional inventory projects, local municipal strategies and a pilot study in Piteå was conducted. The experience from both the regional projects and the pilot study was that in order to achieve an effective control a number of factors were inportant: an efficient selection of companies, a good dialogue between the controlling agency and the companies, sufficient resources, education of municipal inspectors and guidance for decisionmaking. Another inportant result was that the municipal planning can prevent an efficient inventory if the control of city development projects is allowed to take time from the planned control.

Good conditions in the workplace, fairness in the workplace and the social differences contribute to a general improvement in public health. A health-promoting leader is working to create a workplace that promotes health, supports its employees and contributes to their wellbeing. The purpose of this study was to investigate the first-line managers in the city of Västerås experience and deal with their conditions and obstacles in the health-promoting leadership. A qualitative approach was chosen and the selection was six first-line managers working in three different areas of the City of Västerås. Managers were interviewed by an interviewguide and the material was analyzed with a manifest content analysis, with an inductive approach.

Today's urban centers become denser, which contributes to higher demands on sound and noise. It is therefore highly relevant to build homes with good sound environment while maintaining living space. This thesis aimed to reduce the current concrete walls and see how the mass law affects the reduction index value and flanking transmissions. Handmade calculations were calculated according to the Swedish standard SS-EN 21354-1, where only air sound was calculated.Calculations we­­­re performed on wall elements with different weights and thicknesses, and compared with results from Bastian.In Bastian calculations of flanking transmissions were also made, this was made to see the impact of the flanking transmission when changing the mass per unit area. Mass law's impact was examined by flanking transmission and the result shows that they are not affected as long as the ratio between the thickness and the density remains the same.A questionnaire survey was conducted to determine the actual sound experience; this questionnaire was conducted on three concrete buildings in Växjö.

 Kristdemokratin är ett underutforskat område inom statsvetenskapen och har som politisk-religiös rörelse ofta avfärdats som utdöende på grund av sekulariseringens konsekvenser. Emellertid finns det forskning som uppmärksammat att kristdemokratiska partier förändrar sin ideologi för att strategiskt angripa problemet med sekulariseringen.Syftet med uppsat­sen är att beskriva hur Kristdemokraternas ideologi förändrats mellan 1964 och 2001. För att uppfylla syftet har en kvalitativ textanalys av ett urval av Kristdemokraternas partiprogram genomförts.Några av de slutsatser som dragits efter en jämförelse av programanalyserna, är att partiet har tunnat ut den från början tydligt kristna retoriken. Vidare har partiet gått från att framhålla betydelsen av kristen moral och normefterföljelse i samhället till att i stället betona vikten av en allmängiltig etik som värdegrund i samhällets alla institutioner. Partiideologin har sekulariserats även om partiet fortfarande positionerar sig som ett religiöst parti.  .

Sustainability work is something that is emphasized more and more. Corporate Social Responsibility, CSR, is discussed and the question of how much responsibility companies should really take is frequently in the news. Companies tend to ask themselves how much responsibility they should take. CSR is a common concept of companies environmental and social work and a concept we tend to see here and there in our modern society. CSR includes companies? social responsibilities, both in terms of carbon footprint, working conditions, social responsibility and more.

Vårt huvudsyfte med denna uppsats var att inom den privata sektorn undersöka vad kvinnliga och manliga chefer på toppnivå har för förklaringar till att det finns så få kvinnliga chefer på denna nivå. Vi ville även ta reda på om det fanns några skillnader mellan vad dessa kvinnliga och manliga chefer anser om orsakerna till detta faktum. Intervjuer genomfördes med fyra manliga och fyra kvinnliga verkställande direktörer. Undersökningen visade att män och kvinnors åsikter inte skiljer sig nämnvärt åt. Den förklaring som kvinnor anser har störst betydelse är att ansvaret för hem och familj ofta ligger på kvinnornas axlar.
