The objective of this study was to investigate how the local newspaper readers felt about reading the local newspaper in a tablet device, such as the iPad. We wanted to study the attitudes from consumers towards tablets and if the traditional local newspaper can be substituted with a tablet device. We decided to use qualitative interviews as our method. The selection of respondents was based upon age, whether or not they had a subscription and if they owned a tablet device or not. We accomplished fifteen interviews with respondents living within the area where the newspapers of Barometern and Oskarshamnstidningen are spread. The study shows that the majority of the respondents who already had a subscription tended to lack interest in changing their traditional newspaper consumption. Their habits of reading the local news on paper were strong.

Bakgrunden till uppsatsen är att jag vill titta närmare på hur man bygger ett framgångsrikt ishockeylag, där man får ut det mesta av varje individ för att på så vis bilda en svårslagen enhet samt hur en coach kan arbeta för att skapa ett klimat som uppmuntrar till utveckling, både på isen och vid sidan om.Syftet med uppsatsen är att utforska den vetenskapliga kunskap som finns om hur ett lag och dess individer kan coachas samt ta reda på hur elitseriecoacher arbetar för att coacha laget och individen och hur elitseriespelare vill att coachen ska agera.Följande frågeställningar ligger till grund för mitt arbete:Hur arbetar elitseriecoacher i ishockey med att coacha individen och laget?Hur vill elitseriespelare att en coach ska coacha individen och laget?Undersökningen består av kvalitativa intervjuer med ett urval av Elitseriens coacher. För att jag också ska få en bild av hur en elitseriespelare upplever att coacherna agerar samt hur de vill att de ska agera, så kommer också intervjuer med ett urval av elitserielagens lagkaptener att genomföras.Undersökningens resultat visar att mycket av den kunskap som finns i den vetenskapliga forskningen om coaching också återfinns i intervjupersonernas svar. Enligt intervjupersonerna ser den moderna ishockeycoachen väldigt annorlunda ut, jämfört med den traditionella. Framförallt betonades detta av spelarna, samtidigt som coacherna genom sina svar också visade prov på att det finns en stor medvetenhet om hur coaching kan bedrivas, både när det gäller laget som helhet och den individuella spelaren.

In connection with riding and handling of horses, many accidents that can cause severe injuries to both horses and humans are existent. The cause is in most cases that the horse is frightened. The horse's fear also affects its usefulness and it has been shown to have adverse effects on the horse's welfare. To increase safety and improve the welfare of both humans and horses, it is important to find appropriate training methods to reduce the fear of horses in frightening situations. Arbetet handlar om de resultat jag fått fram av min empiriska studie i form av en enkätundersökning bland ett antal elever ur år 9 och gymnasieelever. Eleverna har fått beskriva vad de helst läser när de gör egna fria val. Viktiga slutsatser är att 84 % av eleverna är positivt inställda till att läsa det de själva väljer men är däremot negativt inställda till det som de läser i skolan. Läsningen i skolan beskriver de som tvångsmässig och tråkig medan det de läser på fritiden beskrivs som lättsamt, intressant och frivilligt..

Översättningen av egennamn och kulturella referenser är problematiskeftersom namn i sig bär kulturella konnotationer. Om översättaren inteförmedlar den bakomliggande kontexten går en viktig betydelsedimensionförlorad för målspråksläsaren. Syftet med föreliggande uppsats är attundersöka vilka översättningsstrategier som kan tillämpas vid översättningenav egennamn och kulturella referenser i en politisk text om Nordirland.Uppsatsen består av två delar. Within the journalistic profession lays a commonly accepted normative view stating that objectivity is an ideal to seek. The aim of this bachelor is to study Swedish sportswriters on local newspaper and their views of journalistic objectivity, and themselves in comparison to the traditional ideals. We want to study how local sportswriter work against their ideal and if factors like age and education affect their view of themselves and ther ideal.We have done eight semistructured deepinterviews that all build on theories and studies of the traditional ideal of journalists. The interviewed are all sportreporters, at four different newspapers. We have done active selection of participants based on age and education.

The aim of this study was to elucidate day surgery patients´ subjective experiences of postoperative pain after orthopedic and abdominal surgery and if there was any difference in the experience according to sex and age.Selection was not random and the study included 87 patients. Data were collected from patient questionnaires. VAS method was applied in the questionnaire to measure patients´ pain.The outcomes of the study show that there was no significant difference between women´s and men´s experiences of pain during days 1-7.It was found that patients undergoing orthopedic surgery had significantly more pain on day 7 compared to those patients who underwent abdominal surgery.There was a significant negative correlation between age and perceived pain on day 7.Patients in day surgery group had significantly less pain on day 7 compared with day 1.The patients who have undergone orthopedic surgery and younger patients had more pain on day 7 while the patients in day surgery group had a pain level decreased gradually and on day 7 was the lowest.It appears that pain relief on day 7 of younger patients and patients who have undergone orthopedic surgery is an area that can be improved..

Our intention with this work has been to examine if books in one particular subject share the same ideology, or if they contain several different ideologies. We have chosen to study and analyse books that deal with death and grief. We suggest that we will get an idea of how society looks upon death by examine how death is presented in books for young children. We have studied and adopted well-known writers on the topic to give sufficient background to our research. Transport is an important aspect to take account in efforts to achieve sustainable tourism development. If we do not change our behavior regarding travel, the consequences will be significant for the environment. This study examines the various transport operators on the two Swedish ski resorts if their websites and marketing are different from each other in the mode selection. The destinations are Åre and Hemavan Tärnaby. They studied modes are two Swedish airlines, two train companies, three bus companies and three taxi companies.These corporate websites are studied with a content analysis in which the results of the keywords that have been developed are scored according to different categories.

The aim of this essay is to do a queer reading of the early Swedish pentecostal movement, with a special focus on the women within the movement. The main empirical material is Gustaf Emil Söderholms Den svenska pingstväckelsens historia part I and II, published 1927 and 1928, in addition to this a selection of articles from the Swedish pentecostal magazine Evangelii Härold has been used. The theoretical framework consists of Judith Butler's concepts of heterosexual matrix and performativity, as well as interpellation, and of Adrienne Rich's concept of a lesbian continuum. The analysis shows that the evangelist role, as well as the charismatic practices of the movement, made it possible for women to take the position as leader and teacher of congregations, and thereby take up a male subject position. The role as evangelist also made possible a life outside of the heterosexual norm, within the lesbian continuum..

CSR is a far reaching concept and practice, whose popularity and diffusion has increased rapidly in recent years. Research indicates that CSR has made an evolutionary journey from primarily being characterized by reactiveness to develop into a risk minimizing and proactive competitive advantage and should be looked upon as an answer to heightened societal pressure and awareness. Based on a review regarding different relevant theoretical perspectives, this master thesis discusses CSR as a concept and practical matter in relation to various strategically chosen representatives of a selection of professions.Moreover, the data were collected through in-depth semi structured interviews. The findings show that CSR is a contemporary and highly context dependent phenomenon whose inherent multiplicity brings a distinct aspect of uncertainty to it, in terms of both meaning and practice. And in some parts there is a reluctance to communicate CSR due to a fear of missing out of important aspects.

Syftet med uppsatsen är att undersöka ett urval av Exceed Stockholms befintliga kundstock utifrån företagets nuvarande sätt att segmentera, för att på så vis kunna lägga fram ett förslagpå ett segmenteringsunderlag för framtida arbete. Teorin kommer att baseras på modeller och teoribildningar inom segmentering som berör områdena angreppssätt vid genomförande av segmenteringsanalyser, hur och varför företag segmenterar samt en redogörelse av de segmenteringsvariabler som undersöks. Teorin i den här uppsatsen har valts i ändamål att motivera varför de undersökta variablerna är av relevans och intresse för undersökningen och således även för Exceed. During our teacher training, focusing on history and Swedish at further education level, we have noticed a discrepancy in the way history is portrayed in further education and higher education literature. Accounts of historical ideas, events and developments have often wrongly been depicted as non-gender specific, that is, of equal relevance to both men and women. To what extent is it made clear in further education textbooks that Rousseau?s treatise on education was exclusively aimed at the male gender, and how are the gender-specific aspects of his ideas described? What role and space are set aside for women in the accounts of the struggle for the universal right to vote in Sweden at the turn of the century in 1900, and how is the unions? initial exclusion of female workers portrayed? Focusing on the above historical events and developments, this study aimes to examine whether or not gender-specific issues are described as gender neutral in a selection of history textbooks for further education published in Sweden between 1982 and 2003..

The aim of this masters thesis is to study the reliability of the URL as the link between a bibliographic record and a web resource. The Swedish catalogue services LIBRIS and NetSök have been evaluated on three different occasions, to study how these services have succeeded in giving access to web resources by using URLs. Because URLs are changeable, we have tried to find out common characteristics of the URLs in broken links. To accomplish this study we have used a quantitative approach and evaluated five percent of the web resources in the catalogues using a random selection. We have also used documentation relevant for our study, among other things to illustrate previous studies of the nature of web resources and alternative solutions to URLs as access points to web resources.
