AbstractSystem methodology is in the very heart of system development, it is a crucial part of how you define your work, how you choose to approach the actual problem at hand and how to solve it. Researchers in the system development field has shown that not all methods in theory are in compliance with how it is practiced by the companies who use them. In our thesis we have studied a larger international IT- company and one of their local offices in Sweden, who some years back changed their system development method from a more traditional to an agile one. Our aim of this study has been to establish whether both of these methods has differed between theory and in actual use, and if so, why this has occurred and what the underlying rationality might have been to promote this change. Our questions that we sought to answer were; 1.

Lärarutbildningen, Malmö Högskola Detta arbete handlar om utsatta barn och vilka signaler pedagogerna uppmärksammar när de misstänker att ett barn far illa. Syftet med arbetet är att få en inblick i hur man på två förskolor uppmärksammar och arbetar med barn från utsatta miljöer. Frågeställningen är: Hur förstår och hanterar pedagoger vid två förskolor barn från utsatta miljöer? Den empiriska undersökningen grundar sig på intervjuer med fem pedagoger på två förskolor som arbetar med barn mellan ett och fem år. Resultatet av undersökningen visar att pedagogerna är väl medvetna om och förstår vilka signaler barn i utsatta situationer sänder ut.

AbstractCities are once again becoming the locus of economic, social and political processes. The effect of these processes on the city is two-fold: one one hand they threaten to fragment and dislocate the city and the actors within them, on the other hand they give actors within cities new opportunities to react and mobilize resources towards different strategies of integration. The latter gives rise to what Patrick Le Galès calls the collective actor-city. The aim of this thesis is to explore the notion of the city as a collective actor in a swedish context by utilizing Le Galès theory of european cities as collective actors in an abductive case study on the city of Malmoe. By utilizing Le Galès five dimensions that make up a collective actor I analyze interviews conducted with city officals aswell as documents produced from the city wide plan of action Welfare for everybody.

AbstractDue to the success of the Populist Party Sverigedemokraterna in the Swedish election of 2006, the daily paper Sydsvenska Dagbladet published a number of columns written by well-known academics, writers and debaters. Their aim was to address the question of why this happened in the election and what it is in the Swedish society today that brought forward these trends. The first and the last word was given to the writer Fredrik Ekelund, and therefore the debate was named Ekelunddebatten.The debaters are fighting to present their view of the world as the only option when categorizing different societal groups and appointing themselves as group representatives. My aim is to unravel these different conceptions of the world and to do this I use the Dicourse Analysis as a method. I discuss the results with Critical Discourse Theory as a theoretical base and also from the view of the current societal discourses: the working class discourse, the multicultural discourse and the discourse of political correctness.I mainly observe four different conceptions of the world with different posing of problems.

AbstractTime after time the world is struck by humanitarian catastrophes, whether it is through a war or a natural disaster. Therefore, it is of utmost importance to have a functional and effective aid, as it is a matter of life and death. Thereby the actions of the humanitarian aid organizations are interesting. The investigation treats the three specific organizations Star of Hope, Sida and the Red Cross movement and the process from decision to action in times of war. The organizations are different from one another in many areas.

Sammanfattning/abstract Vårt syfte med denna studie var att problematisera dokumentationsarbetet i förskolan och visa vilka dilemman pedagogerna kan hamna i. Frågeställningar vi utgick ifrån var: Hur beskrivs pojkar, respektive flickor i dokumentationerna ur ett genusperspektiv? Hur kan barns identitetsskapande påverkas av dokumentationerna? Vem är dokumentationen till för och hur används den? För att få svar på våra frågor samlade vi in dokumentationer som pedagoger i förskolan har gjort. Vi gjorde även intervjuer med pedagogerna som gjort dokumentationerna för att få en djupare förståelse av dokumentationerna. I dokumentationerna tittade vi efter vilka situationer barnen är dokumenterade i, pedagogernas ordval och sätt att beskriva barn och situation.

AbstractHur upplever de som drabbas av arbetslöshet pga. att arbetsplatsen de arbetat på i många år läggs ner och produktionen flyttas till lågkostnadsländer, där företagen gör större vinster. Detta är det jag vill få fram i min studie av detta problem som drabbar många i Sverige idag. De som drabbas hårdast är de som arbetat i hela sitt liv på samma företag, saknar utbildning efter grundskola och är i övre medelålder. För denna kategori är det väldigt svårt att få ett nytt arbete.

AbstractFrom 1st of July 2003 it is compulsory for companies with an average number of ten employees the latest two financial years to account sick leave in the annual report.The government?s purpose with accounting of sick leave was partly to evoke an action from the companies? side in terms of motion as an effect due to the awareness of the level of the sick leave. The government was of the opinion that the companies had too deficient knowledge in sick leave and that the knowledge about causes and costs had to increase.In this paper three companies affected by the compulsory accounting of sick leave have been interviewed. The paper defines to only concern private companies. The companies were interviewed in purpose to form an opinion of whether the companies have changed their health promoting actions due to the application of the law.

ABSTRACT The persons whom the authorized nurse encounters in hospital wards and nursing homes are in great extent elderly persons. According to Wasserman (2000), about 30 to 40 percent among these, show signs of depression. To be aware of the signs of depression, and how an authorized nurse can support the patient is therefore of great value. The introduction to this study describes the symptoms of depression and how depression in elders is expressed. It also describes treatment possibilities and nursing aspects of concern.

AbstractThe purpose of this investigation was to understand how teachers/pedagogues nowadays work with mathematics in school. In what way can they pin point the difficulties a pupil with another language might have with mathematics.I started the process of this investigation by reading litterature on the subject. Then I did interviews with several teachers and pedagogues teaching in different schools with children at different ages.The results found in my investegation pointed to a lack of practical work with mathematics especially in classroom and revealed from the teachers a strong desire to work with mathematics in different ways.?Talking maths? with pupils in class will help them understand the subject better. Several teachers are of the opinion that the pupils will reach the goals in school with this method.The teachers are also aware of the importance of having practical mathematics.

AbstractThe aim of the studie was to investigate if the Pediatric Early Warning Score system, PEWS, is an useful instrument on a children's inpatient ward, regarding the detecting of deterioration in children's vital signs. For this, a quantitative descriptive design with qualitative elements was used. Method: Study specific questionnaires were distributed to 86 persons (helpnurses, nurses and doctors). Of these, 36 answered and sent back the surveys. Results: Of 36 responses 25 felt experienced a faster detection of deterioration of vital signs in the child.
