Abstract The aim of this study is to find out how teachers view the importance of reading in the teaching of foreign languages. In relation to this, we wish to gain understanding of what teachers want to achieve with reading, how they choose texts and what difficulties they encounter in getting their students to read. Six teachers from three different upper secondary schools in southern Sweden were interviewed for the study. We also examined the text-materials that they were using for their instruction. The findings show that students read mostly adapted texts from textbooks and, to a limited extent, authentic materials.

AbstractHudiksvalls coordinating model - a model to make cooperation easierCamilla Andersson and Ã…sa GradinThe purpose of this study was to examine the experience each one of the administrators have of their own new model in Hudiksvall to make cooperation easier for the three different administrations in Hudiksvalls municipality. The study will focus on the administrators experiences of Hudiksvalls coordinating design. Questions of the study were: How is the influence of the model on the rules? How is the influence of the model on expectations and parts? What kind of influence did the model have on the responsibility distribution? What kind of influence has the model on the responsibilities at the transfer of costs? To answer the questions of the study we applied a qualitative method, it was made through a standardization interview guide and open questions, with six of the dealing officers who works with the model. Some of the results wich can be discern are by an economic character, andfor the clients that they won`t be passed around the administrations in the community, they get the right help, quick and safe.Key words: cooperation, coordination..

AbstractVårt examensarbete belyser hur barn möter och samtalar kring läsning av skönlitterära texter, samt hur deras egna erfarenheter kommer till uttryck genom samtal vid skönlitterär läsning. Vi tar vår utgångspunkt ur John Deweys (1859-1952) teorier om kunskap och lärande och Louise M. Rosenblatts (1904-2005) tankar kring läsning som transaktion. Tidigare forskning har visat på vikten av att ta del av och bygga kring elevers erfarenheter för att vidga deras förståelse vid skönlitterär läsning. Vår studie har behandlats genom en etnografisk ansats med observation som metod där vi utgått från barnets möte med skönlitterära texter.

Körkortsboken is used as the major textbook in the theoretical part of the education necessary to obtain a drivers? license in Sweden. Abstract  This paper examines the Copenhagen Climate Conference held in the Bella Center in Copenhagen, December 2009. The aim of this paper was to analyse the highly anticipated conference, and why it did not result in a binding protocol between the world?s states. The focus of this paper was to examine two key actors in the Copenhagen negotiations: the people?s republic of China and the European Union.

The main purpose of this essay is to examine, in what way the paintings by Karin Broosand Markus Åkesson are images of autentic situations and furthermore in what way themediespecific essence is performed photografically. Questions occuring: 1) How are thecreations of reality shaped in the two chosen photorealistical paintings? 2) In what waycan you distinguish the iconicity and indexicality in the paintings Den vita klänningenand The Passage? 3) How does the photografic presence occur in the paintings andfuthermore how can you distinguish the mentioned parts above according to thepaintings? The theoretical standpoint is based upon Charles Sanders Peirces ideasconcerning iconicity and indexicality. The methods used are based on thoughtspresented by Andrew Benjamin and Mieke Bal. The signs of iconicity and indexicalitycan be studied in various ways in the two paintings, depending on how abstract andobvious different parts occur in the paintings.

AbstractI denna c-uppsats har vi studerat vilka betydelser läxor kan ha i skolan utifrån en intervjustudie av fem pedagogers uppfattningar. Vi har gjort en kvalitativ intervjustudie och en litteraturstudie som står i relation till den kvalitativa intervjustudien. Pedagogerna funderade kring våra tre frågeområden; läxor och undervisningen, läxor kopplad till kunskap och läxornas funktion. Vår bakgrund och vårt resultat visar på att det finns många olika åsikter kring läxan och att det bland annat är svårt att ge en definition av läxan. Detta är problematiskt både för pedagogerna och för forskarna i vår undersökning.

To fulfill this purpose we also used this research question:?How are the cultural dimensions relevant when it comes to interpreting TV-commercials?We used a qualitative approach when conducting this study. AbstractSyftet med den här uppsatsen är, att ta reda på vilken betydelse elevernas laborationer under grund skolan senare år har, och om laborationer i kemi bidrar till utvecklingen av förståelsen av kemi. Vidare vill jag undersöka, om eleverna tycker att laborationerna är lärorika och förstår syftet med dem.Undersökningen utfördes som en kvantitativ enkätundersökning med tre klasser i årskurs nio i grundskolan. Grundskolan delar lokaler med gymnasieskolan, vilket bidrar till samordningsmöjligheter, samt att laborationssalar, och material är bra. Resultatet visar, att eleverna har likartade åsikter om laborationernas betydelse för förståelsen av kemi. Undersökningen visar också, att eleverna tycker om laborationerna och tycker att de är lärorika, samt att laborationerna bidrar till förståelsen av kemins teori.

AbstractDetta arbete är en fallstudie på Lund's kommun och det som skedde där under nittiotalet. Huvudfoku's ligger på två kommunreformer som innebar kommundelsnämnderna's införande och avskaffande. Vår frågeställning har varit; Vilka förändringar har Lund's kommun gått igenom? Och; Hur kan man förstå dessa förändringar? Teorin består av flera olika vinklar där man problematiserar de moderna kommunerna's arbete. Även mer klassisk organisationsteori med ett foku's på kulturperspektivet har använt's.

Abstract: Private equity used to be synonymous with tremendous yields and rates of return. However, the private equity market trembled in 2008, due to the financial meltdown caused by the worldwide credit crisis. Considering the current low number of exits within the private equity industry, the purpose of this thesis is to examine if there has been any change in how private equity firms control their portfolio companies since the inception of the crisis. One private equity company and two portfolio companies have been studied. The case study is prepared from interviews with senior directors in the portfolio company and investment managers in the private equity firm.

AbstractThe purpose of this study is to deepen my knowledge in how teachers can teach pupils with reading and writing disabilities, and also find out how a co-operation with remedial teachers can look like.The study is based on qualitative interviews with two teachers and two remedialteachers.The study shows that the two teachers´ co-operation with the remedial teacher appeared to bedifferent. The teacher who had the longest work experience was the one of the two that had a co-operation with the remedial teacher, the other teacher who graduated in 2007 did not have any co operation at all with the remedial teacher.The study also showed that the teachers and the remedial teachers in the study had different opinions about what method to use for pupils with reading and writing disabilities, and that the LTG method was the one most frequently used .All the participants in the study agreed that reading and writing disabilities is a large area, andthat there is a large variety in difficulties among the students . Some of the difficulties the participants had experienced were problems with decoding, pupils that had problems with learning the letters..

Abstract The main purpose of this study was to investigate if and how the employees in elderly care experience stress and which underlying causes they understand to be important in their work situation. The purpose was also to investigate whether Karaseks and Theorells demands and control models could be used to explain the employees feelings of stress and to see in which categories the participants are in. Furthermore, the purpose was also to understand the participants work situation and to describe the factors and remedies the employees perceive to contribute to the stress levels at their workplace. 81 questionnaires were distributed at three different locations, two of which were in Ronneby and one in Örebro. 56 people answered the questionnaires.
