The main objective of this thesis is to examine the situation concerning information technology, computers and information resources for university students at a selection of universities, and their libraries, in Sweden. Another objective is to compare this situation to what is stated in policy documents on the subject, and if the size of the university matters regarding resources. The thesis starts with a discussion of several authors, Frank Webster, Paul F. Burton and Lars Qvortrup among others, and their views on the information society. These range from whether we are living in it, are in a transition period or are still in the Industrial Society.

ProblemArbetslöshet drabbar alla, speciellt med bakgrund av den ekonomiska krisen 2008. Vi såg hela världen drabbas och inte minst Sverige, unga som gamla. Vi har därför intresserat oss för hur människorna bakom arbetslöshetssiffrorna upplever sin situation som arbetslösa.Syfte och frågeställningarSyftet med denna uppsats är att ur ett sociologiskt individperspektiv analysera hur arbetslöshet upplevs utifrån arbetslösas perspektiv.För att uppnå vårt syfte kommer vi att utgå från följande frågeställningar:Vad har intervjupersonerna för arbetslivsbakgrund, Hur ser deras handlingsmöjligheter ut?Hur ser de på sina jobbchanser? Hur upplever intervjupersonerna sin arbetslöshet? Finns det skillnader mellan män och kvinnor vad gäller deras upplevelser?Hur hanterar männen respektive kvinnorna sin arbetslösa situation? MetodVi har använt oss av en kvalitativ metod med djupintervjuer för att studera upplevelserna kring arbetslösheten. Vi har även använt oss av andrahandsmaterial till våra intervjuer.

Syfte: Studien vill undersöka hur en persons uppväxt ser ut; som har vuxit upp med en psykiskt sjuk; och vilket stöd personen har haft eller inte haft. Vilka relationer som har varit viktiga och varför. Frågeställningar: Hur upplevde de relationen med och känslorna inför sina föräldrar? Vilken Vetskap har de haft om sjukdomen och på vilket sätt har det påverkat dem? Har de fått stöd och i så fall varifrån?Med hjälp av halvstrukturerade djupintervjuer med fyra vuxna barn till psykiskt sjuka har detta undersökts. Det konstateras att dessa barn kan känna en egen skuld för förälderns sjukdom, att de får ta ett stort ansvar för sin och familjens situation.

Introduction: Pain is a subjective experience. People subjected to pain often experience a reducedquality of life. Chronic pain is pain that has been going on for at least threemonths.Problem area: People with chronic pain are subjected to unnecessary suffering and disability. Therefore it is crucial that the nursing staff takes their situation seriously.Purpose: The purpose of the study was to describe the patient's? experiences and apprehensionof living with chronic non-malignant pain, and how this affected their everydaylife.Method: Systematic analysis of 23 depicting articles.

Cancerbeskedet har förödande effekt för den närstående likväl som för patienten. Det uppstår oftast negativa känslor som hjälplöshet, maktlöshet, ångest, oro, ilska och förlust av kontroll hos närstående. Syftet var att belysa närståendes upplevelser av att leva med patienter med hjärntumör. Metod är en litteraturstudie som baserar sig på tio vetenskapliga artiklar. Resultatvisar att närstående till hjärntumör patienter befinner sig i en mycket utsatt situation där de ofta saknar tillräckligt med stöd kanske framförallt från hälso- och sjukvården men även från familj och vänner.

Syftet med denna studie var att beskriva seniora mammors upplevelse av att förlora ett vuxet barn i samband med cancersjukdom. Fem mammor intervjuades om deras upplevelse av sjukdomstiden och tiden efter dödsfallet. Barnens ålder vid dödsfallen varierade mellan 31 och 48 år. En explorativ och beskrivande analysmetod, med inspiration från Glaser och Strauss grounded theory, har använts. Kärnkategori som framträdde ur materialet var en oplanerad tidsresa, både bakåt och framåt i tiden, mot ett främmande mål med ett behov av ressällskap och guide.

This study was a survey of how it is possible to create conditions for good elite environments in cities with elite universities. The purpose of the study was to create an understanding of how sports associations and National elit sportuniversities in Sweden can co-operate to create a good elite environments for people with dual careers. The study analyzed the current situation and what increased co-operation would do for the elitesports environments. To answer the purpose of the study interviews where conducted with leaders from sports associations and with a representative from the national sports university in Umeå. The result showed that in the current situation were was no cooperation to a significant degree.

The economic climate that has been going on for the last years has more or less affected everyone. This has created a need to get more knowledge about how our banks work and also how peoples own personal financial situation looks like. When our banks over this last period have compensated their employees with even greater deals of money, reactions has gone to the roof. This discussion has made us interested in the subject, which led to the decision to write an essay about remunerations within banks.The purpose of this essay is to investigate if our banks remunerations to their employees have any effect on their profit numbers. Does the size of the compensations vary with changes in the market? Do larger compensations contribute to a greater result?The study will look at Sweden?s four largest banks, Handelsbanken, SEB, Nordea and Swedbank.

We were commissioned by Bulten Stainless AB to identify and analyze their customer order flow. Because the company had problems with delays in the production and deliveries to the customer, the task also included investigation of how the company work with prevention and management of delays. The purpose of the project also included to identify critical factors for effective order flow in smaller workshop companies.The information about the flow and how the work takes place within the company were collected through observations on the company and interviews with the staff. This information was used to draw maps over the customer order flow and to write a description of the current situation within the company. Both strengths and weaknesses of the companies work could be identified through analysis of the present situation.

Background: Patients who deliberate self harm often feel disappointed with the health care. The consequence of this may be that the patient avoid to seek help after self harming. Nurses' often experience these patients to be difficult and hard to deal with. Both patients' and nurses' thoughts about the situation may affect the situation in a negative way. A good relationship between the caregiver and patient is important.

We want in this paper, by using participant observation and qualitative interviews, comecloser to an understanding of what meaning a language café might have for the peoplewho go there. Many of the visitors are people who recently moved to Sweden and are inthe middle of a process of learning Swedish. We want to get a further insight into howthey feel about their situation and what the social encounters on the language café mightmean to them. The purpose is to examine how this can have significance for the identitydevelopment of the visitors.The result shows that the language café is an important place for the visitors because itis the only place they can go to in order to practice speaking Swedish, which isimportant for them to find their place in Sweden. The language café also fulfils animportant function of a place where the visitors can receive an understanding of theSwedish society and reflect about it, but also a place for self-reflection to see theopportunities in the situations they find themselves in.

Könsfördelningen i hushållssysslor har samband med den generella genusideologin i det aktuella landet. Syftet med studien är att undersöka om män och kvinnor som tar ut större delen av föräldraledigheten baserat på familjens ekonomiska situation, samt utför samma hushållssysslor bedöms olika. Hypotesen är att män i högre grad tillskrivs egenskapen duktighet än kvinnor när de utför samma hushållssysslor. En enkätundersökning med identiskt innehåll kring beskrivningen av en moders respektive en faders vardagssysslor presenterades och skattningar kring olika påståenden kring personens situation utfördes av deltagarna. Hypotesen bekräftades inte utan motsatt resultat har bekräftats, nämligen att mannen bl.a.

In the West, travels are often regarded as a given. When tourism is studied it sometimes sounds as if all people have the opportunity to go on vacation when they want and wherever they want. That is not the reality for all. There are laws and regulations on visa requirement which makes it harder for nationals of certain countries to travel on holiday abroad. This essay examines the situation for residents of countries outside the EU and the Schengen Agreement.

Patienter upplever ofta att den information de får är felaktig. Felaktig på så sätt att det är för lite, för mycket, ingen alls, given vid fel tidpunkt, för komplicerad och given på ett fackspråk med många krångliga ord som patienten inte förstår. Syftet med den här litteraturstudien var att belysa vilket informationsbehov patienter med cancer kan ha. Studien baserades på 20 vetenskapliga artiklar och resultatet visar att de flesta patienter med cancer vill ha all tillgänglig information om såväl diagnos som behandling och även veta vilka valmöjligheter som finns. Det finns dock vissa som endast vill ha begränsad information varför det är viktigt att utvärdera varje patients informationsbehov.

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to examine the current situation as regarding the political equality in Iran. The method of this reaserch is based on a single-case studie wich grounds in secondary sources. The analysis of this paper is based on fields that concern political equality which in this study will focus on the right to vote, candidacies in the parliament election 2004 and the presidential election 2005. A democracy theory by Jack Lively is used to analyze the political equality in Iran´s political system.The Iranian regim is strongly criticized by the goverments in the Western world and NGO´s for the situation of the democracy and the human rights in the country. Despite the criticism, Iran still continues in the same political direction, although the democracy has gained a stronger role in the political sphere.
