The purpose of this essay is to study the public debate on the subject of creationism, the belief that there is a creator of all life on earth. The study is focused on creationism in different forms in schools and the more general discussion of creationism as an alternative to the theory of evolution. The overall question is what should be taught as the origin of life: Evolution or creationism in various shapes and forms? The essay consists of an overview of previous research in both the USA and Sweden, and an analysis of argumentation on the issue in newspapers. A comparison is made between the USA and Sweden.The analysis of newspapers shows that there are some arguments for different forms of creationism but there are considerably more arguments against creationism.

The present study deals with the importance of play for children's learning in preschool. The purpose is to investigate the importance of play for children's learning in preschool from a pedagogue?s perspective. The study is based on two issues: How does the pedagogue´s who were interviewed reason about the impact the play has on children's development? How does the pedagogue´s approach to make play a learning situation? The empirical data is based on semi-structured interviews with four preschool pedagogue´s.

Bakgrund: Hälso- och sjukvårdslagen fick år 2010 en ny paragraf som resulterat i nya riktlinjer i flera av Sveriges landsting angående bemötandet av barn som anhöriga. Årligen förlorar 3361 barn en förälder på grund av svår sjukdom och detta kan resultera i en sämre fysisk och psykisk hälsa hos barnet. En ökad medvetenhet inom sjukvården skulle möjliggöra igenkännande och stöd till drabbade barn. Syfte: Att beskriva hur barn hanterar sin situation då en förälder är svårt sjuk och hur sjuksköterskan kan stödja barnet. Metod: En litteraturöversikt baserad på 13 studier med kvalitativ ansats.

Det framkommer i bakgrunden att årligen drabbas cirka 30 000 människor av stroke och en tredjedel av dessa får afasi. Kommunikativt samspel är basen för ömsesidig förståelse inom vården och det är detta samspel afasidrabbade har svårt att få ta del av. Syftet med studien var att beskriva hur patienter med afasi upplever sin situation i vården. Metoden som användes var en kvalitativ litteraturstudie och baserades på skönlitterära böcker författade av personer som har överlevt stroke och drabbats av afasi. Analysen genomfördes enligt Graneheim och Lundmans tolkning av innehållsanalys.

The overall aim with this study was to explore the understanding of how nursing staff - at a service flat in the county of Gävleborg, is related to the residents with intellectual disabilities, with regard to the residents' health. Five personal research interviews were conducted with nursing staff in a sheltered housing. The survey was based on a qualitative method with semi-structured interviews. Five nursing staff aged 27-57 were participated in this investigation. The analysis was conducted, by using a thematic approach.My overall findings show that Nursing staff have different roles to play depending on the situation in their relationship with the residents.

The focus of this thesis is the library at the Swedish school in Berlin, Germany. Being a school in a foreign country, and playing a role also as a public library, the conditions for the library are somewhat unusual. Considering those conditions, how should the library be organised and developed to meet the users' needs in the best way possible? To put the library in Berlin into a greater perspective, the first chapters of the thesis are dedicated to the issue of school libraries in Sweden; their historical development, their importance in the school curriculum and their present situation. Swedish research in the field of school libraries is presented and includes descriptions of theoretical analysing models.

This study has it´s beginning in the term corporatization and what the consequences will be for the Swedish athletic club, after the implementation of it. The corporatization among the athletic clubs is a very up-to-date-topic after the ?Riksidrottsförbundets? approved the new law constitution in 1999, that gives the athletic clubs the opportunity to change their legal form. We want to create an image that explains the situation in the two athletic clubs we choose for our study. This image helps us to give examples of how the corporatization will affect them.

Denna uppsats behandlar hur elever i år 3 uppfattar begreppet mobbning. Vi har med hjälp av boksamtal som metod intervjuat 42 elever i två klasser i en skola norr om Stockholm. Boksamtalen genomfördes parallellt i de båda klasserna i totalt 8 grupper om 4-6 elever.Frågeställningarna var; Hur uppfattar elever i år 3 begreppet mobbning?, Hur tycker elever i år 3 att man skall göra om en kamrat är mobbad?, Vad anser elever i år 3 om vuxnas engagemang på skolan när det gäller utanförskap? Vi fann att boksamtal som intervjumetod fungerade mycket bra och att eleverna genom att utgå från en fiktiv situation lättare kunde uttrycka hur de uppfattade begreppet mobbning. Under boksamtalen berättade eleverna om en situation av kamratförtryck i klasserna där en elev tycktes förtrycka eleverna i de båda parallellklasserna.

Kvinnovåld är stort problem som berör oss alla. Trots att vi befinner oss i en tid där jämlikhet mellan könen är en viktig fråga, så slås årligen ett stort antal kvinnor ihjäl i Sverige av en närstående man. I samhället finns det ideella och statliga organisationer som jobbar mot kvinnovåld. Det är framför allt socialtjänsten och kvinnojouren som är de mest kända och framträdande aktörerna. Dessa organisationer har till uppgift att stödja och hjälpa kvinnan att ta sig ur ett misshandelsförhållande.

This is a study about the transition process and the consolidation of power in Belarus. In this paper the concept of "authoritarian state building and the sources of regime competitiveness in the fourth wave" is the major theory used. After giving a description of the theory?s concepts a short historical background of Belarus follows. Chapters four describes and explain the political situation in Belarus during five periods.

Background: Diabetes mellitus Type 1 is one of the most common chronicle diseases in childhood. This signifies big changes in the daily life for the child and its family. Aim: The aim of the study was to illustrate the family?s situation when the child falls ill in Type 1 diabetes. Method: The search for literature has been done both manually and in databases.

Varje år förlorar cirka 3 200 barn en förälder i dödsfall och nästan 500 barn dör årligen i Sverige, många av dessa barn har syskon. Förskolan kan för barn som mist en familjemedlem bli en betydelsefull plats för barns sorgebearbetning. Syftet med denna studie är att fördjupa vår kunskap kring bemötande av barn i sorg. Vår problemformulering lyder:Hur bemöter pedagoger i förskolan det berörda barnet, vid dödsfall i barnets familj?Hur hanterar pedagoger i förskolan den situation som uppstår i barngruppen, då ett barn mist en familjemedlem genom dödsfall?För att få svar på vår problemformulering intervjuade vi fem pedagoger som samtliga hade erfarenheter av barn i sorg.

Surrogate boycotts are highly threatening for corporations in terms of both economical cost and image damage. All corporations are due to our globalized environment and increased stakeholder fragmentation gradually more risking to become victims of surrogate boycotts, which of nature is hard if not impossible to predict and prevent. Corporations are generally recommended to build clear and strong corporate identities, which should be reflected in their most important stakeholders, as this will secure minimum damage on the corporate image.Even a surrogate boycott situation can have positive effects on corporations, especially in terms of image, as such situation increases the brand involvement and thereby make it possible for corporations to connect with important stakeholders on an emotional level..

The purpose of this masters thesis is to evaluate bookmobile service as a decentralised library service. I have made a qualitative interview survey, with seven Swedish municipalities participating, all providing bookmobile service in their rural parts. The purpose with the interviews is to examine their bookmobile service. I have also studied articles on bookmobile service, and decentralisation through small library units in library journals, to get an insight into how the work with decentralised library service is done in Swedish municipalities. In this thesis answer is sought to the following questions: - Which decentralised library services are suitable for inhabitants and institutions in sparsely populated areas, considering factors such as number of inhabitants, proportion of old people and children, demographic changes, economy, possibilities to cooperate with other municipalities? - What is the current bookmobile service situation in Sweden, taking seven municipalities in the region of Småland as a starting point? My conclusions are that each municipality must decide which decentralised library services that best suites their needs.
