Directive 2006/54/EG from the European Union concerns the equal rights between men and woman and the principle of equal rights. The purpose of the directive is that the member states provide the equal rights between men and woman. Affirmative action is one exception from the principle of equal rights which is settled in directive 2006/54/EG, article 3. The purpose for the affirmative action must be to encourage the equal rights between men and women.EU has specific criteria to use affirmative action, which is created by praxis of the Court of Justice of the European Union. These criteria are that the affirmative action must involve an objective assessment, there must be equal qualifications between the person which is affirmative action and the person who is not, the positive action cannot be automatically decisive and this special treatment should be proportionate to the purpose.

The focus is to examine the political interest of the citizens to understand other ethnic cultures who lives in Sweden. One question concerns how the borderlines between different cultures has been painted partly through blogs but also by the media. Is this a result of ignorance or does it depends because of the influence of certain individuals. To find this out, I will study various electronic sources such as blogs, forums and news articles.

Purpose/Aim: To create a communication strategy for PADI Nordic with the intention of getting Swedish divers, who have been certified abroad, to Swedish dive centers.Material/Method: The study is based on a number of personal interviews conducted with a) divers who are active in Sweden, b) divers who are not active in Sweden and c) representatives from PADI and PADI affiliated dive centers.Main results: The main reason that people who have been certified abroad do not dive in Sweden is that they regard it as being too complicated, too cold, too expensive and with nothing interesting to see. These might partly be misconceptions that can be corrected through a communication strategic effort. The best way to change this perception is by two different forms of communication. One will go from PADI Nordic straight to the divers through an email. This will have the purpose of getting their attention, making diving sound interesting and raise their awareness in preparation for the other part of the process.

Many dogs in Sweden are put up for adoption at the Swedish buy- and sales site?Blocket?. This because in Sweden, rescue shelters mostly takes in dogs that have been confiscated by the police. The aim of this study was to investigate what kind of dogs that are put up for adoption and why owners put their dog up for adoption and also compare the results with those from other countries. 800 dog advertisements from ?Blocket? were collected in the study between January 31st and April 10th 2012.

The aim of this thesis is to model my artistic practice on an adaptation of Joseph Campbells monomyth and, using this model, investigate challenges of performativity in art (in public spaces). The overall themes are personal, aesthetic and ethical sovereignty and an uncompromising search for a deepening of the artistic practice. More than anything else it is a map and a story of an artist?s expansion out into an artistic field that is little developed in Sweden. Uppsatsen har sin grund i att studera medias tillgänglighet inom fildelningsnätverk då specifikt DC och BitTorrent. Undersökningen består av en kvantitativ studie av fildelningsnätverk som byggde på vår fråga: Hur ser medias tillgänglighet på fildelningsnätverk ut? Med frågan vill undersökningen göra en nutidsstudie om tillgänglighet av filmer, pc-spel och tv-serier på fildelningsnätverk. På så sätt bättre förstå den nutida utvecklingen av kommersiella film- och musik- tjänster, samt reflektera över om fildelningsnätverk kan ses som en komplett källa när det gäller tillgången av det undersökta materialet..

En diskussion via telefon om hur den första filmen såg ut ledde oss in på ett spår där vi pratade om hur man genom tiden hade använt sig av olika metoder för att skapa en illusion av rörelse. Tankebanorna ledde oss vidare till en fråga om hur vi skulle kunna göra för att skapa något rörligt på ett sätt som inte ofta ses i dessa tider. Skulle vi kunna göra en film som återigen känns genuin, något som är mer än ett par pixlar på en skärm? Anledningen till att vi ville försöka uppnå en genuin känsla var mycket för att man kanske idag har slutat se film som en konstform. Vi vet inte idag hur det fungerar, det bara gör det, och det godtar vi.

Every year new premises are built in Sweden, and even if they are made as energy efficient as possible, this will not reduce the energy demands, but the rate of the increase of the energy use will be reduced. One type of facility in Sweden that is a major energy user is public baths, and this makes public baths an interesting facility to study more closely. There are around 500 public baths in Sweden and about 75 % of those can be seen as older baths with large need of renovation, and they all require a high level of energy efficiency measures. To show how the energy demand increase or decrease depending on the changes chosen to be made, the simulation application IDA Indoor Climate and Energy was used. Simulations were made and compared for several cases, with two extreme cases as starting points.

We want in this paper, by using participant observation and qualitative interviews, comecloser to an understanding of what meaning a language café might have for the peoplewho go there. Many of the visitors are people who recently moved to Sweden and are inthe middle of a process of learning Swedish. We want to get a further insight into howthey feel about their situation and what the social encounters on the language café mightmean to them. The purpose is to examine how this can have significance for the identitydevelopment of the visitors.The result shows that the language café is an important place for the visitors because itis the only place they can go to in order to practice speaking Swedish, which isimportant for them to find their place in Sweden. The language café also fulfils animportant function of a place where the visitors can receive an understanding of theSwedish society and reflect about it, but also a place for self-reflection to see theopportunities in the situations they find themselves in.

Att jobba på ett spelutvecklingsföretag innebär ett annat sätt att tänka på som animatör. Man har ingen historia att berätta genom sina animationer på samma sätt som man har när man animerar för en film. Historieberättande kan saknas samtidigt som det kan vara lättande att slippa tänka på det. Genom att få ta del av Grins daliga animationsrutiner har jag fått större insikt om hur det är att arbeta som animatör på ett spelföretag. Begränsningar är det främsta man måste tänka på.

2012 was the year when the podcast had a breakthrough in Sweden. As media corporatehouses developed, they adopted new forms to mediate journalistic material, whereas the podcasts was one of them. The podcast has had a rather informal reputation in Sweden in contrary to The United States and Great Britain, where it holds a higher sense of prestige and professionalism. It is therefore relevant to investigate what happens when media corporatehouses i Sweden embraces the podcast through themes such as tabloidization, commercialism, convergence and divergence. We chose to investigate the content of the podcast in the tabloid press Aftonbladet, and in the serious press, Dagens Nyheter.

Den här undersökningen tar sin utgångspunkt i trailern till filmen The 11th hour. Utifrån semiotik och retorik har undersökningen behandlat frågan hur klimathot formuleras i denna trailer och fokuserar på hur vi får kunskap om vår omvärld via media. Syftet har bland annat varit att som blivande mediepedagog få redskap för att i arbetet bland unga människor kunna prata om aktuella frågor och frågor som rör den tillvaro vi lever i. För att djupare komma åt min frågeställning har jag gjort intervjuer med hjälp av en fokusgrupp. Då unga människor är en viktig målgrupp för den här typen av frågor valde jag att använda mig av informanter som är i gymnasieåldern.

Hösten 2003 valdes 38-årige Fredrik Reinfeldt till ny partiordförande för Moderata samlingspartiet. Moderaterna hade med 15,2 procent i riksdagsvalet 2002 gjort sitt sämsta val sedan 1973. Våren 2005 noterades opinionssiffror på över 30 procent för partiet. Men glädjeyttringarna över opinionsframgångarna blandades med kritik från de egna leden mot den nya partiledningens politik. I uppsatsen undersöks moderaternas politik under Fredrik Reinfeldt ur ett konservativt perspektiv och ett försök görs att klargöra om det skett någon grundläggande förändring av politiken och i så fall vilka värderingar som påverkat den.
