The theme of this thesis is citizen participation in the planning- and design process. It turns to everyone that studies landscape architecture or work as landscape architects and I hope that it can function as a ground for discussions as well as a source for inspiration. Rågsved is a suburb south of Stockholm. Just outside the centre of this suburb, a small industrial area called Snösätra, is located. In a few years time the leaseholds for the small industries will expire and the key question is: What will happen then? This is my general concern and it was the main cause for me to start this particular work. How do you attend to a place that appears like blank sheet of paper? To an empty page that can be filled with an infinite number of different formulations.

Konkurrensen om kunderna blir allt hårdare och numera konsumerar vi inte bara det som är nödvändigt utan även ur ett nöjesperspektiv, shopping har blivit en fritidsysselsättning och ett sätt att umgås för många. När det gäller nöjesshopping så blir själva upplevelsen och intrycken i butiken en avgörande faktor för om kunden väljer att handla i butiken, butikskommunikationen är där med ett viktigt konkurrensmedel vid kampen om kunderna.Uppsatsens undersökning grundar sig på att vi har besökt fyra stycken butiker som ingår i en specifik franchisekedja inom heminredningsbranschen. Vi ville med detta granska hur kedjan jobbar med att ge samma intryck till kunderna oavsett läge och placering samt hur kunderna uppfattar butiksatmosfären och därifrån komma fram till vad som kan förbättras. Vi intervjuade ett antal besökande kunder från vardera butik för att få fram hur de uppfattade butiksmiljön. Vi har även intervjuat butikernas respektive butikschefer samt kedjans butikskommunikations ansvarige, detta för att få fram hur de tänker och arbetar kring ämnet butikskommunikation.Vår uppsats bygger både på kvalitativ samt kvantitativ undersökningsmetod, detta anser vi har varit en fördel eftersom detta säkrade upp att vi fick med alla delar.

This thesis has two purposes: (1) to analyze the emptiness in Blodbok by Christine Falkenland, and (2) to analyze my own reading of the same book. I have chosen to focus on how emptiness is expressed through the body, the language and the place in Blodbok, because of the deep impact these seem to have on the emptiness. The thesis discusses what kind of emptiness that is described, what it does to me as a reader, and how it is connected to other works by Falkenland. Cultural politics of emotions by Sara Ahmed, Uses of literature by Rita Felski and Pouvoirs de l?horreur by Julia Kristeva together form the theoretical framework.Blodbok is a poetry collection, about the loss of a mother.

The purpose of this masters´ thesis is to examine the attitudes of public librarians towards easy-to-read literature and see whether a connection between these attitudes and accessibility can be made. The study has been performed with a qualitative approach and consists of four depth interviews with emphasis on how librarians relate to and experience easy-to-read literature and its´ users. As complement to the depth interviews, two micro interviews were made. The study can be seen as a follow up to a survey I made 2005, commissioned by The centre for Easy- to-Read. As analytical tools the cultural sociological theories of Pierre Bourdieu, with his concepts field, cultural capital and habitus, have been used.

Mitt i gränsen mellan stadsdelarna Västertorp och Hägerstensåsen i Stockholm ligger den avlånga Mellanbergsparken. I det norra kortändan hittar man Hägerstensåsens tunnelbanestation och i den söndra går den mycket trafikerade motorleden E4an. Det är en platt park med få träd så den är starkt bullerstörd från E4an. I den söndra ändan finns ett utomhusbad som är välbesökt varma sommardagar, men  motorvägens närvaro går inte att ignorera, så badupplevelsen blir inte fullt så avslappnande som den skulle kunna önskas.Västertorps parkbadhus är tänkt att ligga i det sydvästra hörnet och då fungerar som skydd mot bullret. De högsta delarna i byggnaden hamnar närmast motorvägen för så stor bullerdämpning som möjligt, och för att minimera skuggningen av parken och utomhusbadet.Hela byggnaden är dessutom täckt med ett spaljésystem där klätterväxter kan slingra sig, och de tillsammans med den skog som planteras på markplätten som lämnats mellan byggnaden och motorvägen, bidrar ytterligare till bullerdämpning, samt till luftrening från alla avgaser.Entrén till parkbadhuset och dess tillhörande sporthallar är belägen i en gångtunnel som går genom byggnaden från den nuvarande gångtunneln under Personnevägen.

Background: It is today common for companies to provide some sort of incentive for CEO's and senior management positions to motivate, retain and benefit employees within a company. This is in order to drive the goals of the CEO and management in the direction that is desired by the owner. Currently, the Swedish centre-right government has forbidden the use of such variable pay within state-owned companies. There are two different attitudes to variable pay, one that is in favour and one that rejects it. However most people agree on the fact that a well-functioning incentive scheme can be of great strategic importance for a company.Approach: has variable pay to CEO's had any effect on the company's profitability.Aim: the aim of the study is to compare companies who use variable pay to CEO's with companies that do not in relation to their profitability in terms of profit margins, yearly performance, returns on total capital and returns on equity.Method: the study uses a quantitative approach.

The purpose with this study was to investigate how the behaviour and physiological parameters differ between high ranked and low ranked cows, and between cows in an automatic milking system verses conventional milking parlour. The study was carried out at the Kungsängen research Centre, Department of animal nutrition an management, Swedish University of Agriculture Sciences, Uppsala. Twelve cows, the six highest and the six lowest in social rank were selected from the automatic milking system for the experiment. Ten cows, the five highest and five lowest in social rank were selected from the conventional system. Blood samples were taken during milking and resting.

In this thesis we propose a conceptual plan for thedevelopment of an Agroforestry Training Centre (ATC)in Musoma, Tanzania. The aim is to make a proposalto support peasant education in agroforestry. How canan ATC in Musoma be developed into a stimulatingand educational park suitable for teaching agroforestrymethods to peasant farmers and other potential users?To answer that a field study was conducted to investigatehow our client Vi Agroforestry Programme (Vi) and thetarget groups of the client can benefit from the site.The thesis begins with a short explanation of thecontext, in which the ATC plays a part followed by amethodology chapter. Next are three chapters presentedwhich introduce the reader to the research conductedbefore starting the proposal, these include: results ofliterature studies, study of precedents, and results of fieldstudy.

Many traffic incidents are due to the driver?s lack of attention, resulting in dangerous lane departures, either sliding off theroad or into the oppose lane. These kinds of incidents often have serious outcomes, which has led to much effort being concentrated on preventing or lessening the damages when the incident is already a fact, for example by installing safety belts and air bags. These measures may be considered to be acts of so-called passive safety. Active safety on the other hand, means that the safety systems intervene before the incidents have occurred.

Affärskonceptet ? att marknadsföra priserbjudanden eller upplevelser och sedan hänvisa konsumenter vidare till leverantörer ? har tagits efter av en rad aktörer och den nya trenden får antas fortsätta en tid framöver.Det faktum att den aktuella typen av förmedling är relativt ny har lett till en osäkerhet kring vilket ansvar rabatt- och upplevelseföretagen har gentemot konsumenter. Inte sällan använder de sig av varierande affärsupplägg vilket bidragit till ytterligare oklarhet.Det saknas direkt tillämplig tvingande lagstiftning och företagen begränsar ofta, genom mer eller mindre långtgående friskrivningar, sitt civilrättsliga ansvar.Syftet med förevarande uppsats är att undersöka vilket civilrättsligt ansvar som företagen har gentemot konsumenter vid dröjsmål och fel i vara och tjänst.I uppsatsen, som inledningsvis diskuterar innebörden av termerna kollektiv shopping och gruppköp, redogörs för de tre affärsmodeller som det marknadsledande rabattföretaget Groupon använder sig av.

This is something that is clearer in the fashion business where the consumers always are looking for news at lower costs. It?s no longer an economical question to be able to wear the latest fashion trends, the availability of cheap fashion clothes is constantly increasing.

AbstractIn this study, the conceptions of a number of teachers in the Swedish primary and lower-secondary school about cultural pluralism, the values connected to this pluralism by the Curriculum for the Compulsory School System, the Pre-School Class and the Leisure-time Centre, Lpo 94, and the possibilities for pupils to gain knowledge about these values, were studied. The conceptions of the teachers were regarded and interpreted as ideology, since the study was made from a point of departure containing an assumption about how the content of the curriculum is of importance for the development of relations of power and dominance between different groups in society. The purpose of the study was to interpret the statements of a limited number of teachers about cultural pluralism, values and knowledge, regarding the ontological, axiological and epistemological assumptions and conceptions expressed therein. The empirical data of the study was gathered through qualitative interviews with eleven teachers working in six different primary and lower-secondary schools in the Mid-Sweden region. The conceptions expressed in the statements given by the respondents were categorized.

Arvika Fastighets AB is a municipal subsidiary tasked with managing all green areas in the municipality, with a strong focus on the City Park and plant beds in the city centre. These areas generate large amounts of green waste, which is currently transported to the municipality's composting area at Lycke. Currently, the material is piled up and turned once a year without using the resulting soil for flowerbeds, lawns, and shrub/tree plantings. The purpose of the study is to determine if Arvika can compost the green waste in a more efficient manner and produce weed-free soil ready to be mixed into various substrates for different purposes. Interviews with the Swedish Church and several municipalities in Sweden have been conducted to learn from their experiences and knowledge of how they make their composting work.
