Cloud Computing är det stora modeordet i IT-världen just nu. Det har blivit mer och mer populärt på senare år men frågor har uppstått om dess prestanda och säkerhet. Hur säkert är det egentligen och är det någon större skillnad i prestanda mellan en lokal Server och en molnbaserad Server? Detta examensarbete tar upp dessa frågor. En serie prestandatester kombinerat med en litteraturstudie genomfördes för att få fram ett resultatet för detta examensarbete. Denna rapport kan komma att vara till nytta för de som har ett intresse av Cloud Computing men som saknar någon större kunskap om ämnet.

The report aims to investigate how well a certain type of affordable embedded single board computer can hold up against today's more expensive computers in a computer system by doing various tests on a system with the specified requirements. The system has a Raspberry Pi as the single board computer which task is to control a camera based on coordinates obtained from a Server as well as capture and stream a video signal on a network.The researches were conducted to check how much network traffic a single-chip computer sent in different video formats and how much CPU utilization was required. Studies were also made to ensure the accuracy of the camera control. The researches have been experimental, where several tests have been performed and analyzed.The results show that a sufficiently good accuracy can be obtained from the camera steering unit, in which two different servos have been investigated. When the video format MJPEG and H.264 are used, the single-chip computer is able to transmit a video signal up to 1280x720 at 15 fps.

I have been studied Microsoft SharePoint on behalf of Prevas in Karlstad.The purpose of my work was to see if Microsoft SharePoint was what Prevas wanted as a replacement for the existing intranet, which they are not satisfied with today.My work was a kind of foundation for Prevas so they could make a decision in this matter.The work began with installing SharePoint at one single Server at Prevas. We used a virtual technology (VMware) at the installation, which can be described as that we created two ?miniServers? in a bigger Server, one for SharePoint and the other for storing the information. This kind of technology is strongly advancing. The main work consisted of setting up the structure for the navigation and designing both the portal and the local homepage for Prevas Karlstad.

This report describes the work with creating a CMS (Content Manager System). A CMS is a web tool so you easy can publish materials on your web page. With a CM Scan you can without any knowledge of programming web pages create and maintain a web page. This will result in that you and your organisation save time and money. You can also split the responsibility for the webpage in different roles, but still keep the control. We have chosen to create our CMS in a script language called php4 and with the database Server MySQL, we have also used JavaScript a lot.

Examensarbetet, 15 poäng har utförts på högskolan i Kalmar. Input Soft AB är ett företag som är beläget i Strängnäs. Uppdraget för projektarbetet bestod av att utforma en webbbaserad givarservice till Myrorna. Myrorna använder idag fleetIT som är ett program utvecklat av Input Soft AB för registrering/hämtning av gåvor till Myrorna. Denna webbaserade givarservice förenklar och effektiviserar arbetet för Myrorna genom att användarna själva går in via Internet och registrerar sina gåvor istället för som idag då registreringen sköts helt av personalen i Sätra.

AbstractAs a developer of database-driven applications you will be faced with difficult choices, when it comes to choosing database, Server and programming language. For the result to be satisfactory it requires the different techniques to interact well with each other and also fulfill performance expectations. This is even more important when the application is deployed to the cloud and the response time plays a major role.This paper evaluates different databases and their performance. To test the databases there was an application made in the Server script language PHP or Hypertext Preprocessor and it was deployed to Windows Azure cloud platform. The test applications task is to call and load databases by controlled requests which creates, reads, updates and deletes data in an relatively large extent.The results shows that locale databases or databases in the same data center as the Server generates the fastest response.

Ett erkänt problem inom industrin för mjukvaruutveckling är bristen på kvalitativ systemdokumentation. Hos företaget Multisoft Consulting finns detta problem. Utvecklare måste spendera onödigt mycket tid på att sätta sig in i befintliga system. Som en del av lösningen vill företaget införa automatisk generering av dokumentation. Genereringen ska ske i plattformen Softadmin® som används för att bygga alla kundsystem.

Inledning: Epikutantester används för utredning av kontaktallergier. Det görs ca 3000 tester varje år i Sverige som överförs till ett kvalitetsregister.  Målet med projektet var att utveckla en webbapplikation och en underliggande databas för hantering och lagring av ett nationellt kvalitetsregister för epikutantester (The Swedish Patch Register). Databasen skall lagras på en central Server lokaliserad på Universitetssjukhuset, Örebro.Metoder: Lösningen blev en applikation för webbläsare programmerad i språket C# med hjälp av Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 och ramverket ASP.NET 3.5. MySQL .NET connector tool 6.2.2 möjliggjorde anslutningen mellan ASP.NET och databasen.

Speedledger is a company that is working to automate electronic accounting for businesses, organizations and associations.In the current situation bank data is sent from the users internet bank to Speedledger via a virtual printer driver. The driver transforms the web page into a PDF and sends it to a Server for interpretation.The problem is that PDF is not created for this sort of data transfer and makes the interpretation of data is very problematic.The goal of the thesis is to study whether there is a possibility to develop a browser add-on that can retrieve information on the customer's banking page and send it on to Speedledgers Server for interpretation. My task was to implement a add-on for one of the three major browsers Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome or Microsoft Internet Explorer, and then study the possibility of implementing it to the other two by reading the documentation.What I concluded was that it is possible to implement for all the three browsers. However, the techniques will differ slightly when developing these add-ons.  .

This report describes a bachelor thesis work performed at the cloud storage company CloudMe in Linköping, Sweden. The storage service provided by CloudMe allows users to access their files seamlessly from multiple units at the same time. In the cloud there is storage provided for contacts, calendar and e-mail, which is data nowadays normally used by smart phones.Exchange ActiveSync is a protocol developed by Microsoft which, among much more, provides functionality to synchronize the previously described data. This protocol is supported by the smart phone developers and the ability to synchronize over the exchange protocol is implemented in products by default. Due to this fact it would be preferable to implement support for synchronization from CloudMe to phones over this protocol.

Lantmäteriet i Gävle är ett företag som hanterar mycket stora datamängder i databaser och det är därför av stor vikt att de har ett väl fungerande databashanteringssystem. De använder sig av databashanteringssystemet Oracle, men intresse för alternativ finns. Lantmäteriet önskade därför en rapport som jämför deras nuvarande databashanteringssystem Oracle 10.2.0.3 med möjliga alternativ. De databashanteringssystem som i denna rapport jämfördes med Oracle är Microsoft SQL Server 2005 och MySQL 5.1. Aspekter som studerades är prestanda, kostnad, säkerhet, kompatibilitet, tillgänglighet och support.

Embedded Internet Systems Laboratories (EISLAB) har fått i uppdrag av Vendolocus AB att utveckla en prototyp till ett larmsystem som är en del i ett större systemkoncept. Larmet ska vara en box som placeras ut på en strategisk plats för att detektera avvikelser i vibrationer med hjälp av ett digitalt filter. Larmet har ett brett användningsområde för mobila och stationära applikationer. Larmboxen kommer vara ansluten till Internet via en inbyggd mobiltelefon (GPRS). Där finns också en inbyggd GPS-mottagare för att bestämma boxens position.

Denna studie tacklar ett av de problem som modern IP-telefoni brottas med, som gör att det är svårare att konkurrera med traditionell telefoni: fördröjningar på grund av otillräckliga Session Initiation Protocol-servrar (SIP). Genom tester av de viktigaste faktorerna jämförs fyra högaktuella Open Source SIP-servrar: OpenSIPS, Kamailio, FreeSWITCH och Yate. Avsikten är att underlätta valet av SIP-Server för nya applikationer inom IP-telefoni, öka prestandan samt snabba på utvecklingen. Studien behandlar de intressantaste faktorerna vid val SIP, såsom användarvänlighet, hastighet, lagring av användardata samt ljudkvalité. Slutsatsen blev att Kamailio stod som klar segrare, med överlägsna resultat i jämförelse med övriga servrar, på de parametrar som valts ut.

This assignment has been performed at location and commissioned by AttenditAB in Jönköping. The task has been to develop a client/Server system to accessdata stored in SQL databases where the client application is developed to run onregular cellular telephones. The importance has been to develop as reliable mobilecommunication as possible. The functionality that is demanded upon the mobilecommunication is:? Secured for future versions? Interoperability? Data should not be bugged, modified or disappearunnoticed? Resource efficientWe have achieved these demands by developing our own protocol that is on top ofthe TCP protocol.
