Introduction: Each year 1200-1300 patients are diagnosed with head neck cancer. Treatment that involves radiotherapy can cause severe side effects for example trismus that affects quality of life.Purpose: To study health-related quality of life in patients who have undergone radiation treatment for head and neck cancer and participated in a intervention group who received training intended to prevent trismus or in a control group who received standard treatment.Method: This is a prospective study in which data is collected from 66 patients participating in a randomized study aiming to evaluate a training program to prevent trismus. Thirty three participated in the intervention group and thirty three in the control group. Both patient groups assessed health related quality of life (HRQOL) with EORTC QLQ C30 and QLQ-H&N35, at start and end of the radiation treatment, and at 3 and 6-months after completing radiation treatment.Results: There is no difference between the intervention and control groups regarding symptoms, functional status and global health, except for intake of nutritional supplements.  For both groups almost all scales measuring HRQOL deteriorated under the radiation treatment. However, 3 and 6 months after end of radiotherapy HRQOL had improved and had returned to the baseline values.

Syftet med det självständiga arbetet var att undersöka hur äventyrspedagogik tillämpas i en Reggio Emilia-inspirerad förskola. Genom att jämföra dessa pedagogiker kan man få syn på likheter och skillnader som motiverar tillämpningens betydelse för barns lärandeprocesser. Undersökningen fick sitt praktiska utförande i en skogsmiljö på en av förskolorna, där två förskollärare hade teoretiska kunskaper inom äventyrspedagogik och Reggio Emilia. Tio pedagoger och en förälder deltog som observatörer i äventyret. Utöver dessa deltog två studenter från förskollärarutbildningen, Stockholms universitet som också är författarna till denna undersökning.

This question started our quest to see how the real-estate market would be able to be adapted to this new economy.

Jällaskolans upper secondary School is situated on a big farm just outside Uppsala. The School is focused on agriculture, forestry, gardening, animal care and science. Jällaskolans staff has whished for a school garden for educational purpose where students can practice their gardening skills and learn more about plants. But most important, a specially adapted outside environment such as a garden, would be a great advantage for the students with special needs. This garden could even be an asset for other visiting school classes in the region.

Syftet med denna uppsats är att beskriva och analysera hur utvalda fine dining-restauranger arbetar med att skapa helhetsupplevelser för gästen. Vidare vill vi om möjlighet ges, även ge rekommendationer till hur andra företag i andra branscher kan arbeta för att tillämpa ett likande framgångsrecept.Uppsatsens syfte har uppfyllts genom tillämpning av en kvalitativ forskningsmetod och användning av en abduktiv ansats, för att kunna förstå och tolka empirin.Vår teoretiska referensram har bestått av grundläggande delar som vi antagit hör till en helhetsupplevelse och som vi kommit fram till att fine dining- restauranger tillämpar. Vi har inom den teoretiska referensramen haft helhetsupplevelsen i fokus och utgått från att delarna utgör den helhet som blir upplevelsen för gästen. Produkten, servicen, rummet och organisationen är de delarna vi har tagit fram teorier kring och som utgjort grunden för vårt analysarbete. Vi har intervjuat tre restaurangchefer, en köksmästare, två sommelierer och en kökschef fördelade på fine dining- restauranger i Borgholm, Göteborg, Stockholm och Växjö.

This thesis is performed in cooperation with Prodelox AB and JTI (Swedish Institute of Agricultural and Environmental Engineering). The purpose of the project is to generate and develop a WC-technique with a closet sewer that keeps a higher TS-substance than 1.5 %. The WC-technique is mainly directed towards permanent households in sparsely-populated areas and cabins. The goal is to generate concepts of toilets with an extremely low use of water in terms of flushing. The design should be appealing and touch more Senses than only the visual.

This master thesis is about Augmented Reality (AR), a phenomenon that has existed since the mid-fifties but only recently has become available for the general public. This report is a knowledge compilation about AR, focusing on AR in cell phones and the use of the technology in traffic related situations.AR is usually described as adding a digital layer of information onto the real world. There are different technologies to make virtual images; in cell phones sensor-based and camera-based technologies are the most common ones.In this report, the market of AR applications for cell phones has been investigated. Three use cases have also been investigated in order to get more knowledge about the designers' thoughts and visions.In order to analyze the technology and the applications in a broader and more scientific perspective, two theories has been used: Situation Awareness (SA) and the Service Dominant Logic (SDL). These theories seem useful when reflecting on the Swedish road administrations vision, and to investigate what the applications and the AR technology can contribute to the traffic domain.The conclusions of this thesis are that:- AR can be applied on most of the human Senses, but augmenting by visualization is most common.- The market for cell phone applications is growing rapidly: AR applications are relatively new but on the rise.

The project of this thesis is to illuminate the teacher perspective on study visits by examining how six religion teachers relate to the study visit method in high school religious education. The research object of the thesis is to investigate whether teachers believe there are viable didactic possibilities and challenges associated with the study visit concept in education, and to define them if present. The results show that the main didactic advantage, as perceived by the teachers participating in this study, lies in the meeting the study visit enables. A meeting may lead to increased insight and understanding of other people?s way of thinking, conceiving and believing.

Salome is the myth of the Oriental princess who dances for her stepfather, Herod the tetrark at his banquet. He becomes so enchanted by Salome's dance that he allows her to wish for what she wants. On the advice of Queen Herodias, Salome's mother, she asks the head of prophet John on a platter. Herod is horrified, but grants Salome's desire.This is the first in a series of Salome petitions as Mark and Matthew in the New Testament. Salome has since then never ceased to fascinate artists and writers through the ages.

Denna uppsats tar upp vikten av utevistelse för äldre med demenssjukdomar och trycker på trädgården som en hjälp i arbetet att stärka livskvaliteten. Arbetet är en litteratursökning där material tagits fram enligt snöbollseffekten och resultatet mynnat ut i riktlinjer för design av en demensanpassad trädgård. Här berörs behovet av trygghet och självständighet hos den sjuka. En person med demens behöver en lugn, men samtidigt stimulerande miljö i sin vardag. Forskning har visat att utevistelse i trädgård har en positiv effekt. Genom att använda olika igenkännbara element i trädgården går det att skapa en miljö som den boende känner sig trygg och kan orientera sig i.

The cat has become a popular pet. To secure a prosperous cat-human relationship, the cat owner has to understand what kind of animal the cat is and what requirements need to be fulfilled. The purpose of this literature review is to summarize kittens? needs of socialization, anthelmintics, nutrition, vaccination and gonadectomy, until the age of six months and to give the cat owner information on how to care for the cat during this period. Articles were search for in ScienceDirect, Primo and Scopus.

Den här studien berör några av de miljöpsykologiska grunderna i Alnarps Rehabiliteringsträdgårds uppbyggnad. Den ger förslag på hur karaktären rofylld kan förstärkas och hur säsongen kan förlängas i den restorativa delen av välkomstträdgården med växter som tilltalar flera av våra sinnen. Deltagarna som kommer till trädgården har i regel stressrelaterade åkommor såsom utmattningssyndrom och har varit sjukskrivna en längre tid. De är ofta mycket känsliga på grund av fysisk och psykisk utmattning. Studier visar att deltagarna har behov av en kravlös miljö där de kan få vara ostörda.

The aim of this study was to describe how body language of humans affects the domestic dog (Canis familiaris) and how it can be implanted in the stressed situation that occur at an animal hospital. The subject is brought to notice because the author has experienced that dogs can get more stressed when a stressed and nervous owner is attending. Humans affect each other through posture, facial expression, voice and movement, and are often driven by their emotions, which can differentiate the verbal communication from the non-verbal communication. This occurs both consciously and unconsciously. Every human uses body language but not everyone knows how it is used or how to understand it.

Kan man känna, smaka, lukta, höra ett starkt varumärke? Eller kan man bara se det?Vi ville veta och bestämde oss för att ta reda på det, och det är resultatet du nu har i din hand.Vi har genom intervjuer med tre stora butikskedjor och dess butikschefer försökt få en klarare bild om hur de arbetar med det relativt nya sättet att marknadsföra sig på, genom sinnesmarknadsföring. Vi har genomfört flera observationer i och runtomkring de valda butikerna och bildat oss en bra uppfattning om hur respektive butik använder sig av sinnesmarknadsföring-medvetet eller omedvetet.I takt med att konsumenternas krav på upplevelser ökar och fler butiker etablerar sig på marknaden blir det alltmer viktigt att skapa ett varumärke som kunden hela tiden har i sitt medvetande, det finns bara ett sätt och det är att vara kundens första val. För att nå dagens kräsna konsumenter gäller det att butikerna marknadsför sina varumärken, och det har man sett inte helt räcker till, vilket har medfört att nya grenar inom marknadsföringen tillkommit, sinnesmarknadsföring. Begreppet är relativt nytt i Sverige och syftar till att skapa ett emotionellt band mellan konsument och varumärke.

The understanding of the role of nature for rehabilitation of both physical and psychological afflictions has greatly increased in the last few years. There?s a lot of science that describes the healing effects of nature. The rehabilitation garden in Alnarp has contributed with very positive results from the treatments of patients with burnout syndrome. In the first stages of rehabilitation, the need for calm is very important and a demand-less and stress-free environment is of essence.
