The purpose of this essay was to study the family situation in connection to the absence of one parent due to participation in international peacekeeping and peace enforcement operations. Focus was on the temporarily absent parent's point of view. The study was based on five interviews with parents shortly after their returning home. The main questions has been how the parent described the child-parent relationship before, during and after the absence; the children's experience during this time according to the parent and the family's adjusting to and coping with the situation. Conclusions made from the study show that with a good stabile child-parent relationship and good parenting skills of both parents the families in this study were successful in coping with the situation.

Syftet med studien är att utifrån elevperspektiv bidra med kunskap om hur eleverna förstår lärares kompetens. Studien inleds med en redogörelse av de begrepp och teorier som ur olika synvinklar förklarar vad kompetens är mer generellt, medan en annan del behandlar och ger en beskrivning av lärares olika kompetenser. Utifrån studiens syfte och forskningsfrågor föll metodvalet på en kvalitativ metod. Intervjuer genomfördes med elever från teoretiska och yrkespraktiska program på tre olika skolor i mellersta Norrland. För att organisera och koda det insamlade materialet användes en fenomenografisk analysmodell: Dahlbergs och Fallsbergs modell, som innebär sju olika moment för gruppering och kategorisering av materialet.

Syftet med denna uppsats var att analysera instruktionsvideon som undervisningsform i ämnet Medieproduktion. Tidigare forskning visade att interaktiva läromedel på ett positivt sätt kunde bidra till lärande. Med det som utgångspunkt var den övergripande frågeställningen i den här studien ifall interaktiva läromedel kunde fungera som komplement till dagens undervisning och i så fall på vilket sätt? Påverkade användandet av instruktionsvideo lärarens roll i klassrummet? Vidare var meningen med studien att undersöka om det redan idag skedde en inlärning utanför skolans ramar via interaktiva läromedel. Samt om det i så fall togs i beaktande av skolans lärare.

Det här examensarbetet handlar om skrivundervisning. Undersökningen är huvudsakligen en fallstudie. Syftet är att få ökade kunskaper om en gymnasielärares arbetssätt för att utveckla sina elevers skrivande. Den huvudsakliga forskningsfrågan i detta arbete är: Hur beskriver en erfaren gymnasielärare sin skrivundervisning för att öka sina elevers skrivförmåga inom svenskundervisningen i gymnasiet?Examensarbetet börjar i en teoretisk utgångspunkt med tre olika teorier om skrivande och skrivundervisning.

Background: Anorexia nervosa is a disease that often strikes teenager girls. The causes of the disease are not entirely known, but there are redeemed and maintenanced factors. The factors describes as biological, psychological and sociocultural. Aim: The aim of the study was to illuminate the nurses problem in caring of girls that developed anorexia nervosa. Method: The method of this essay is a literature study.

Stroke is one of the most common diseases in Sweden and the third most common cause of death (National guidelines concerning stroke, 2000). Dysphagia is a common problem for stroke patients with almost 50 percent of patients suffering from severe swallowing dysfunction (Axelsson, Asplund, Norberg & Eriksson, 1989). The purpose of this study was to investigate how stroke patients with dysphagia experience their swallowing disorders. The method used was a qualitative literature study. An analysis of content was carried out using ideas and inspiration from Graneheim and Lundman (2003).

The purpose of this qualitative interview study was to examine which approach experienced pre-school teachers have on children that seek negative attention. The study contains five informants in a city in the middle of Sweden and they all have at least 10 years of experience after their diploma from a pre-school teachers? program. The questions I aimed to answer were the following: How did the pre-school teachers define the expression ?negative attention?? What approach did they have on children that seek negative attention? What effects do the childrens? seeking of negative attention generate on their self-esteem and sense of security? How possible do the pre-school teachers feel it is to achieve the goals of the pre-schools? curricula that every child should get their needs respected and met, when they work with children that seek negative attention? The results showed that the teachers think of them as resources in the group and that they need to think of the environment around these children both at home and at the pre-school to better meet their needs.

The background to the study was that the school agency published a report stating that students, after completing school, did not meet the criteria to receive the grade ?Pass? in mathematics. The study presents the reasoning of work teams from five different preschool departments?, about ways to work with the subject with children in the ages four to five. The study may help future teachers to develop new attitudes regarding mathematics in the preschool, by letting them take part of others pedagogues? thoughts and experiences.

This essay is an investigation that aims to increase the understanding regarding the opinions of what skills a teacher who works with pupils that are in need of special support ought to have. I have also tried to answer the question: How to be a good teacher?The investigation is carried out as a qualitative interview survey, where three women from three different municipalities have explained, how they want pedagogues to work with pupils that are in need of special support.The investigation shows that an accurate personality within the pedagogue plays an important part when accomplishing a positive development. Knowledge of various subjects combined with a specialized pedagogical education is very important, as well as an ability of understanding when it comes to different kinds of functional disorders.Other positive qualities a teacher should have could be the following: to be structured, calm, be able to stand stress, have patience, be a good listener, be emphatic and have a good sense of humour.The investigation also shows that teachers who are confident with themselves have a lot to gain in their profession. The final quality worth mentioning is, when you as a professional dare to be without prestige.

In this thesis, the results of a survey regarding grade progression between secondary and upper secondary school in a municipality in the north of Sweden serve as the starting point for a study of the experiences and expectations of a number of 16 year old girls who are in the first year of upper secondary school. The study is performed by means of focus group interviews with female pupils from the three largest upper secondary schools in said municipality in an attempt to gauge their experiences of grades, grade assessment, teacher practices and perceived differences in how boys and girls are treated. The results show that most of the girls are disappointed with upper secondary school so far. Many of them feel that secondary school was both more fun and more rewarding in a sense of learning. Their appreciation of how this more rewarding atmosphere affected their grades differed between the various groups.

Studiens syfte var att undersöka vilka faktorer som relaterar till högskolestudenters upplevda stress. Till grund för studien låg fem frågeställningar.

Bakgrund: Amyotrofisk lateralskleros (ALS) är en obotlig neurologisk sjukdom som drabbar motorneuronen. Symtomen är tilltagande muskelsvaghet som till slut övergår i en generell förlamning och andningssvikt. Medianöverlevnaden ligger på 3-4 år efter sjukdomsdebut. Vid sjukdom förändras relationen till kroppen och kan ge känslor av förlust och sorg. Förmågan att känna hopp och tro kan ge välbefinnande trots sjukdom.

Detta görs genom kvalitativa intervjuer av semi-strukturell karaktär med sju olika aktörer som på olika sätt spelar en roll i konflikten om graffitins existens i det offentliga.
