Med bakgrund i de senaste årens digitalisering av skolan och EU-kommissionens formulering av digital kompetens som en av åtta nyckelkompetenser för ett livslångt lärande är studiens syfte att undersöka och jämföra hur lärare och elever på en skola på gymnasienivå ser på elevernas digitala kompetens. Detta görs utifrån tre frågeställningar som rör elevernas syn på sin digitala kompetens, lärarnas syn på elevernas digitala kompetens samt huruvida det finns någon diskrepans mellan dessa båda. Den metod som används är kvalitativa intervjuer, och studiens resultat bygger på totalt sju intervjuer. Av dessa är fyra intervjuer med elever från samma klass och tre med lärare från samma skola. Resultatet analyseras utifrån Macken-Horariks modell om kunskap och litteracitet och delas in i tre kategorier som ligger till grund för diskussionen. I denna lyfts utöver Macken-Horariks modell också EU-kommissionens definition av digital kompetens och begreppsparet digital inföding och digital immigrant in som teoretiska utgångspunkter. Eleverna uttrycker generellt att de tycker att deras digitala kompetens är självklar och god.

This paper presents the result of a master thesis project at 30 Hp, master of industrial engineering at Luleå University of Technology. The project was performed during 20 weeks, spring 2014, in collaboration with ABB Control Products in Västerås. The aim of the project was to evaluate two half-automated assembly lines for a new generation of contactors, the NAFC assembly lines (New AF Conductor). The aim and purpose of the project was achieved by answering the following questions:? How are the ergonomic working conditions at the NAFC assembly lines during spring 2014?? Which areas at NAFC assembly lines can be improved for the work environment?? How can the ergonomic work conditions improve at the NAFC assembly lines?Literature reviews were performed from earlier research papers and articles of the ergonomic, musculoskeletal and work environment subject, from where a number of chosen methods and tools were used to perform the ergonomic evaluation.

In the EU the amount of waste increased by 14 percent during the years 2000 to 2010. EU?s target to reduce waste generation runs parallel with the aim of increasing the efficiency and profitability aligned with energy recovery. In Sweden the energy recovery through incineration is increasing steadily, and 46 percent of the municipal solid waste (MSW) is treated by combustion. This report aims to examine the profitability of processing MSW into Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) from an economic-, energy- and environmental perspective.

Olika erfarenheter, uppväxtmiljöer och synsätt kan göra att bara tanken på att ge sig ut i naturen kan tyckas onödig, skrämmande och farlig. En allt större del av befolkningen växer upp i tätorter utan någon naturlig kontakt med naturen. En växande del av Sveriges befolkning har invandrarbakgrund och av dessa har många inte någon eller begränsad relation till den svenska naturen. Avsaknad av naturupplevelse i barndomen kan medverka till att nästa vuxna generation kommer att sakna intresse av att vårda naturen och hushålla med naturresurserna.Mitt arbete handlar om hur man kan utforma informativa illustrationer till nyanlända invandrare som inspirerar dem till att nyttja Eskilstunas tätortsnära natur. Jag har undersökt hur man med hjälp av bilden underlättar kommunikationen till människor från andra kulturer som inte förstår det svenska språket.Jag har till stor del undersökt hur bildtolkning kan skifta beroende på sändarens erfarenheter och referenser till olika visuella representationsformer.

After the appointment of a new European Commission in 2004, ?communication? was made a top priority on the agenda. The Commission presented a new communication policy, which would establish a dialogue with the citizens, thereby bringing more democracy to the union and bridging the gap to the citizens. Three documents containing the policy were published, namely an internal action plan for the Commission, Plan D which establishes the framework for national debates and a whitepaper on EU communication policy. These documents were met by mistrust and criticism from many different actors such as journalists and experts.The aim of this master thesis is to examine this new communication policy from a deliberative democratic perspective.

Syfte: Undersökningens syfte är att undersöka hur chefer födda på 1970-talet upplever sitt chefskap. Metod: Denna studie är baserad på en kvalitativ metod. Då det empiriska materialet har samlats in parallellt med att teori har sökts, kan vår ansats liknas vid den abduktiva. Resultat: Utmaningen, ansvaret och förmånen att kunna påverka organisationen och få sina medarbetare att växa sågs som de övervägande incitamenten till att bli chef av 70-talisterna. Möjligheten att påverka framhävs som den aspekt av chefskapet som bör marknadsföras för att locka fler 70-talister till att bli chefer.

Animal welfare is of increasing concern in present society. In commercial pig farming, animal welfare problems are common. One of the causes for these problems is the barren environment in which pigs are housed, which can cause oral manipulation of pen mates. Providing straw might be one solution to this problem. Another solution could be reached through genetic selection.

Today a large amount of manual handling is performed between the machining and the hardening process. Most of the manual handling is done at the heat treatment department. The purpose of this master thesis is to give a suggestion on how to reduce or eliminate the manual handling at the heat treatment department. The possibility to use the same packaging throughout the processes will also be investigated.

In the beginning of this century United Nations expressed their concern about the lack of female participation in politics through a number of resolutions and conventions. To ensure sustainable development and democracy, United Nations argued the importance of women?s participation in every level of politics within a state.Burma is a country that is in the middle of an ongoing democratization process and women are not considered to participate in this process. The purpose of this thesis is therefore to analyze the experience of politically involved Burmese women in their political participation progress.This study has been realized through semi-structured interviews with nine Burmese women, in both Thailand and Burma. The questions that have been asked are about what societal and cultural barriers women meet when they are, or want to be, political involved, both from the society and within their own political organizations.

Salmonella kan infektera de flesta av våra husdjur och produktionsdjur och är en av de vanligaste livsmedelsburna infektionerna hos människa. Salmonella smittar fekalt-oralt men vissa serotyper som Salmonella Enteritidis kan även överföras från hönan till nästa generation genom äggen. I denna litteraturstudie sammanfattas hur Salmonella, särskilt Salmonella Enteritidis, kan få en omfattande och snabb spridning inom hela fjäderfäproduktionen på grund av att bakterien inte bara sprids med avföringen utan även med äggen från infekterade djur. Smittspridningen kan bli särskilt snabb och omfattande om djuren i avelspyramidens topp infekteras. Därigenom kan smitta hos exempelvis några tusen avelsdjur spridas till miljontals kycklingar och ägg i konsumtionsledet med en massiv exponering för konsumenten, människan. Studien innehåller även hur man ska gå till väga för att minimera risken för smittspridningen. Spridningen av Salmonella Enteritidis ökade kraftigt under åren 1979-1987 och utvecklade sig till en global pandemi av Salmonellainfektion hos människor.

Metso Paper offers a front-running range of solutions and services for the pulp and paper industry. At the baling unit, design solutions are developed for manufacturing and handling of pulp bales. The machines are continuously developed to satisfy customer needs. One big step in the development of the baling line was to remove hydraulics from the machines and replace it with electrical motors and pneumatics. This was not done on the folding machine which is still driven by mainly hydraulics.

This report describes the results of the project "Concept development of jet engine inspection plugs" carried out in the spring of 2008. The work was done at the department of product definition at the company Volvo Aero in Trollhättan. The objective of the work was to develop concepts for a "Volvo-unique" inspection plug. The work is part of Volvo Aero's focus on proprietary (self-developed) technologies. Inspection plugs can be found on virtually all aircraft engines and gas turbines.
