To enjoy the richness of the grazing cows and high yield during the summers, even during the winter, cheese has been the way to store milk for thousands of years. Nowadays yield is high all year around and the cheese production is possible during all seasons. The aim of this paper is to investi-gate how and why the seasons influence taste and texture of pressed and ripened cheese. Milk is composed of proteins, fat, lactose and water but contains also a lot of vitamins. The quality of milk is very important for the final constitution of cheese.

Dropout among youth players is a problem in Swedish icehockey. Leaders in youth hockey teams work closely with players on an almost everyday basis during season and have a big influence on players and their activities. This study aims to identify possible reasons for dropouts by interviewing coaches and leaders in icehockey clubs. A total of eight coaches and leaders in different ice hockey clubs were interviewed. Results show that the coaches highlight three reasons for early dropout; focus on competition, results and too much training in younger ages..

The purpose of this final thesis is to investigate the effects of seasonal changes in the horticulture industry. In this study this includes mainly garden designers, constructors of gardens and parks and horticultural businesses at Österlen. Today the most important issue,both in private and in public environment, is that the winter occupation in this area is not big enough. The consequence of this issue can result in the loss of competence to other industries if educated personnel has to stay employed only over season. The study is trying to identify and rank factors that are contributing to the problem, and propose solutions that means work opportunities for companies in the horticulture industry as well as for their employees, during twelve months of the year..

Matsvinn i butik - hur påverkar livsmedelslagstiftningen?

Stora mängder livsmedel kastas i onödan och det sker i flera led i distributionsked-jan. Från primärproduktion till slutkonsument slängs mat av olika anledningar. Det är i hemmet mest mat kastats men även i tidigare led kastas betydliga mängder. I den här studien undersöktes om det finns lagliga hinder som gör att mat kastas i butik eller om det är livsmedelsbranschens riktlinjer och rutiner som orsakar svinn. Studien bestod av litteraturstudier samt intervjuer med två livsmedelsinspektörer och miljöansvarig respektive färskvaruchef från två olika butiker i Uppsala.

Betesdrift vid automatisk mjölkning i ekologisk produktion :

An automatic milking (AM) system should be combined with some form of controlled cow traffic to minimize the time spend on fetching cows to milking and to increase the milking frequency. By restricting the hours spent on pasture per day you optimise the AM system use during pasture period. A reason for this is becuase cows do not return to the stable for milking during night which cause that the milking unit stands empty those hours. In organic production it is required that the cows should be able to graze a certain amount of daily dry matter (DM) intake on the pasture. In the county of Dalarna where the farm is located the yield of the pasture is about 3000 kg DM per grazing season and hectar.This means that the pasture area should be 14,25 hectare to 57 milking cows.

Twenty-four calves, which had not grazed previously, were divided into four groups. They were subsequently inoculated orally with either E. alabamensis oocysts, O.ostertagi/C. oncophora larvae, or both. One group remained uninfected and was used as a control.

Bakgrund Svensk media uppmärksammade i början av 2000-talet brott mot livsmedelslagstiftningen inom både Sverige och andra länder i Europeiska unionen. Köttbedrägerier och fusk med ursprungsmärkning hade förekommit.Syfte Studiens syfte var att undersöka konsumenters läsande av och förtroende för obligatorisk livsmedelsinformation, att se om det fanns skillnader beroende på kön eller grad av utbildning, samt om det fanns samband mellan läsfrekvens och förtroende för informationen.Metod En enkät utformades i Google Documents och delades ut i Sverige hösten 2013 via forumet Facebook. Totalt samlades 159 enkäter in och analyserades i SPSS 21.0, med p=<0,05.Resultat Av den studerade livsmedelsinformationen läste deltagarna beteckning och bäst före-datum/sista förbrukningsdag mest frekvent. Förtroendet för obligatorisk livsmedelsinformation var överlag högt men signifikanta skillnader sågs varken beroende på kön eller utbildningsnivå. Kvinnor läste allergimärkning och ursprungsmärkning signifikant oftare än män.

En studie av Idre Fjälls webbplats med fokus på användbarhet

Idre Fjäll currently has not full control of how visitors experience their site or if it has good usability. I have helped the company to do a usability test on their website to see how and where any improvements can be made on the page before the winter season 2010. I have also done a survey to investigate how users perceive Idre Fjälls website. Ten people of various ages participated in the survey. All test subjects was recorded with both audio and screen activity during the tests.

The aim of this investigation was to study the live-weight changes and mature weight for the Swedish Red and White Breed (SRB) and for Swedish Holsteins (SLB), and to estimate the correlations between body weight and body measurements such as heart girth and height at withers, respectively. The material used was from one of the experimental dairy herds (Jälla) of the Swedish University of Agricultural Science. It included recordings on 293 dairy cows with information from 7142 weight occasions and recordings on 275 dairy cows with information of 557 heart girth measurements and 560 measurements of height at withers. The registrations were done during 1993-2002. There was a large variation in live weight between cows in different ages and lactation stages.

Torkad eller gastät lagrad spannmål till värphöns : en fallstudie

The purpose with this study is to compare different systems of grain storage from a financial point of view. Grain that is supposed to be fed to laying hens. The systems that were compared were different airtight storage of grain and a system of conventional storage. To make this case study I choose to compare four different systems. In the case study there was one system with bin drying of the grain, two systems with airtight storage of the grain and one system where you buy dried grain during the season. I made several of capital investment appraisal where I found the cost of each system, then I took the cost and divided it with the total grain use and calculated the cost for each kilogram of grain, and also the cost of the feed. Then I compared the cost from my case study with the cost of buying feed. All the systems except for one, gave a lower cost for the hen feed than buying feed from a dealer The best system, witch were bin drying lower the cost with about 80 000:- SEK.
