Because hydrauliccylinders usually work in dirtyenvironments and are heavilyworn some types of cylinders arealmost impossible to disassemble.Today the disassemble is made by hand,which means extra work for themechanics. In order to facilitate thedismantling of this type of cylindersa machine is to be developed for thispurpose and this is where this thesisbegins.The thesis has been organized in threephases: Literature study in whichfacts and theories are acquired.Concept generation in which differentconcepts, calculations, and solutionswere identified and selected. Thedesign phase where all the differentconcepts of components were assembledand simulated in SolidWorks. Similarstructures have also been studied inorder to identify necessary functions.The thesis resulted in a structurewhich is believed to meet therequirements.

Strategies for the board game Hive was implemented and evaluated in this project. The report covers the rules as well as the system that was implemented in order to build strategies. The strategies are evaluated based on how they perform against each other. Two search algorithms were implemented: Minmax and Alpha-Beta Pruning. The project Design analysis and proposals of plastic screw caps in Australia was performed at Högskolan Dalarna incooperation with University of Western Sydney, Australia. The Swedish company Tetra Pak, in Lund, were assigner forthe project that was performed 2006-2007. The commission was to do a survey about the packages for non-carbonateddrinks in Australia. The bottles had to be plastic, able to open in one step and with focus on the caps.The project has result in design analysis and a new proposal of a plastic screw cap for the Australian market. Sixbottles were choosen and they were all testet on 20 consumers each with a Likert-scale test.

Aptness of these tools are probable to have a major impact on identification of bugs and verification of new functionality. Identifying erroneous parts and bottlenecks of the trading system is of outmost importance for the exchange as a whole since stability and correctness are two of the determinant factors its viability is measured by. Beroende på hur dessa arbetsscheman utformas kan de få en negativ inverkan på personalens hälsa. Den här rapporten handlar om utvecklandet av en algoritm som genererar arbetsscheman med ergonomiska riktlinjer, det vill säga arbetsscheman som utformats på ett sådant sätt att negativa effekter på personalens hälsa undviks. Algoritmen som utvecklas baseras på optimeringsalgoritmen Squeaky Wheel Optimization.

This bachelor thesis is a literature study of the possibility to analyze and modify speech signals and will act as a pilotstudy for future theses in speaker verification.The thesis deals with the voice anatomy and physiology, synthesizer history and the various methods available when thevoice is used as a biometric method.A search and evaluation of existing programs have been conducted to determine the relevance of the attacks on theparameters used for speaker verification.

In this Masters thesis we investigate query expansion using an electronic thesaurus. We formed 30 topics from the library and information science field. For each topic three searches were made in the bibliographic database LISA Library and Information Science Abstracts via CSA Cambridge Scientific Abstracts. LISA has an electronic thesaurus attached. We used this thesaurus to form baseline queries, baseline queries expanded with synonyms, and baseline queries expanded with both synonyms and related terms.

This master thesis is an in-depth study of an existing heating system at a household cooperative in Uppsala that has been converted from district heating to a bedrock heat pump system. The study focuses on an economical system optimisation of the building?s complete heating system. The aim was to determine how well a heat pump system in large buildings actually work, find out possible ways to optimize the existing system and point out important system parameters for new heat pump installations in larger buildings.The project points out a possible energy cost reduction of 45 % without investment and further cost reductions with equipment investments. A reduction by 30 % is possible by improvements in the regulation system and 15 % is possible by maintaining the brine system.

Syftet med denna studie är att beräkna de ekonomiska konsekvenserna för Iggesunds sågverk att övergå från diameterbaserad sågklassläggning, som används i dagsläget, till flytande sågklassläggning för delar av sågverkets timmerkurva. Huvudfrågeställningen indelades i olika delfrågor som undersökte hur volym- och värdeutbytet, planerbarheten och produktiviteten påverkades. Studien grundar sig på teorier om den ekonomiska konsekvensen av ett beslut där resonemang om alternativkostnaden ingår, volym- och värdeutbyte av råvaran samt teorier om produktion, produktivitet och planerbarhet. Studiens resultat kommer att användas av Iggesunds sågverk i ett fortsatt utredningsarbete om effekterna av flytande sågklassläggning på hela timmerkurvan. Till detta utredningsarbete har en metodik utformats och ett rekommenderat arbetssätt presenteras i kapitel 7.
