Den 29 april 1955 beslutade stadsfullmäktige i Lund om rivning av rådhuset vid Stortorget. Beslutet hade föregåtts av en debatt om rivning kontra bevarande som berörde både hög och låg bland stadens invånare. Engagemanget var stort. Jag har i den här uppsatsen försökt att skildra debatten, kulturklimatet vid tiden och orsaken till att rådhuset faktiskt fortfarande står kvar år 2006. Det handlar till stor del om vem som tyckte vad i debatten, och vilken betydelse det fick för slutresultatet..

This thesis revolves around my work Desirable Objects, an installation in glass and other materials, which deals with objectification based on female and animal trophies. The topics included are those that have been crucial to my working process; craft, post-colonial studies and European hierarchical dualism, where woman and nature are seen as connected, but inferior. My motivation has been to get a better understanding of underlying power structures, and put this knowledge in relation to my own work. This process has led me to make a full body casting of my own body as a method of self-exploitation, in an attempt to expose myself to a similar power perspective. By making the dualistic connection between woman and nature, I am commenting a phenomenon that in my view has resulted in a similar exploitation of both..

Inspirerad av den metod Åsa Dahlin använder för arkitekturanalys i "On Architecture, Aesthetic Experience and the Embodied Mind, Seven Essays" vill jag i min uppsats försöka mig på en analys av Lunds Stadshall, ritad av Klas Anshelm.Jag vill studera arkitekturen delvis ur det fenomenologiska perspektiv Maurice Merleau-Ponty presenterar i sin bok "Kroppens Fenomenologi" och lägga tyngdpunkten på själva upplevelsen av byggnaden snarare än den rent visuella aspekten av den.Jag söker även finna svar på hur modernismen i stort och Klas Anshelm specifikt förhåller sig till de fenomenologiska tankegångarna..

Genom frågeställningarna eftersträvar jag att ta reda på vilka argument och ord som förts fram i debatten samt om orden har någon betydelse i sammanhanget.Metoden som används för att få svar på frågorna är diskursanalys samt den analysmodell som Jennie Lippner utvecklat. De tre grupper som undersökts, politiker, kommun-tjänstemän samt allmänhet, uttrycker sig alla på liknande sätt med välformulerat språk och väl valda argument. De diskurser som kunnat urskiljas är den modernistiska, ekonomiska samt antikvariska.

The purpose of this essay is to examine what can be considered as obscene in the work of JoelPeter Witkin and Marc Quinn, what the similarities and differences are. The essay concerns thehuman body, the norms around it and the old vision of the ideal body. To get closer to myquestion I’ve been examine the meaning of anti-ideal, what it means and what kind of history ithas. The works I’ve been using to reach to my purpose are Marc Quinn’s Sculpture Alison Lapper(2005) and Joel Peter Witkin’s photography Abundance (1997). AbstractWhen I, at the age of 20, started working in home care service, I had an idea of what it means to age, a view witch I quickly realized was not true at all. The essay begins with a search for the images of aging you come in contact with, when you do not have a deeper interest in the matter.I take a closer look at how aging is described and how the concepts of aging and dignity are often interconnected, and debate about which images of aging that is outdated and where from they originated.I also show that that image is in for a change, much is happening right now, and there are many like me, who want to change and broaden the view of what aging can mean.Finally I describe my Sculptures ?Beatrice? and ?Rosmari?, and reflect on how they relate to the image of what old age looks like.As a sculptor, I want to create an alternative to a widespread image of old people as a problem or idealization of the olf lady as a kind, cute and cookiebaking creature, as well as an alternative to the traditional Sculpture tradition, that often show men in positions of power, and sweet passive women/girls.I tell of the strong, stubborn, eccentric and absolutely ordinary lady.

Uppsatsen behandlar officersboställen i Skåne från indelningsverkets tid (1682-1901), med särskild inriktning på byggnadsvårds- och bevarandefrågor samt på tillämpningen av lagstiftningen kring byggnadsminnen och annan kulturhistoriskt värdefull bebyggelse.Uppsatsens tidsmässiga fokus ligger på 1850-talet. Den bygger på arkiv- och fältstudier kring det trettiotal av Skånes 50 officersboställen som har karaktärshus uppförda enligt de av militären fastställda typritningarna. Mer detaljerade undersökningar, uppmätningar och foto­grafering har genomförts kring tre välbevarade boställen, Örsjö, Månstorp och Hjälmshult. This treatise analysis what functions light has in theater. It was inspired by Rosalinda Krauss essay Sculpture in the Expanded Field but builds mostly on the following three books Linda Essig Lighting and the design idea (2nd ed), Nigel H. Morgan Stage lighting for theater designers and Francis Reid The stage lighting handbook (6th ed). It discovers nine unique functions of light (performance style, dramatic style, image,illumination, 3D space, 3D form, selectivity, environment, atmosphere) and develops a graphical mapping of them based on a mapping by Reid. The functions performance style, dramatic style, image are superior the others.

During the spring semester of 2009 I have participated in what was to become the project The Allotment Plot; a collaboration between the Swedish University of Agriculture and the Wanås Foundation. As one of six students in landscape architecture I have experienced a group based learning process with the point of departure in the designing of an organic and experimental kitchen garden at Wanås, a Sculpture park for contemporary art. The project came out as neither us nor any other of the people engaged could have guessed. What was meant to be a garden turned out to become an entire cultivation movement. As students, we have gained a lot of experience through praxis; experience that will be valuable for our future profession. The project has also opened up the possibility to question and reflect upon what our profession and education could or should be about. This thesis focuses on the role of communication and the production of communicative tools in design processes and landscape architectural practice. It discusses how communication may be used in an exploratory and ?un-securing? way, and how this may dislocate the professional role, especially in situations where the design action, as in the case of this study, demands a high degree of transdisciplinarity and collaboration. .

This thesis is a case study that analyses the seaside resort Ystad Sandskog and its private architecture between 1850 and 1940. The multitude is evident in the area's architecture. The architectural development is analysed with the use of a social historical perspective, including class and hegemony. Regional as well as national affective factors are used in the analysis. Aside from the social aspects, architectural ideological developments, general development of the seaside resort and the area's committee with its prescriptions are all factors considered.By dividing the development in four different chronological phases, which all represents a certain architectural expression exemplified by a selection of buildings and the social class that it accompanies, a culmination in the architectural structural development of Sandskogen is shown.

Sammanfattning Rum, form och växter är ett avslutande examensarbete som handlar om växtkomposition. Jag har valt ett antal profiler inom områdets principer om rumsskapande, komposition, färglära och några tillämpningar som jag studerat på plats samt gjort egna förslag. I detta arbete har jag börjat med rummens uppbyggnad, deras förutsättningar och sammanhang och hur detta påverkar platsen. Formen och proportioner skapar olika upplevelser och inhägnaden som har betydelse för intrycket. Människor får olika känslor beroende på rummets öppenhet, slutenhet och skala. Kapitlet som handlar om gångar berör uppbyggnaden och människans rörelsemönster i dessa.

Syftet med uppsatsen är att beskriva en av arkitekten Bernt Nybergs byggnader. Han utbildades på KTH och examinerades år 1952. Den utbildning som bedrevs på KTH vid den tiden var präglad av modernismen. Bernt Nyberg visade redan under utbildningstiden ett stort intresse för tidigare arkitekturstilar och isynnerhet för klassicismen. Hans intresse för utpräglad ordning tog sig uttryck i byggnader som kan härledas till de geometriska grundformerna.I "Josephson" har han använt sig av kvadraten och kuben som utgångspunkt för rumsmodulens utformning.
