Title: Notification of animal welfareAuthor: Helen ÖhlundThe purpose of this study was to examine the routines of the county administrations in Sweden when it comes to receiving notification from the public about the welfare of animals. According to Jordbruksverket at least 50 % of the screening of animal welfare should be based on routine controls on existing farmers. Today the routine controls only reach a 43 % average for the whole country. A big part of today?s result depends on the amount of time it takes the administrators of animal welfare to process the notifications from the public.

AbstractThis work was assigned by a technological company that manufactures gas detectors in which the sensor signal is processed using digital filters. These filters have been developed by a consultancy firm which converted previously used analog filters to digital filters. The purpose of this work has been to analyse inadequate, and sometimes erroneous, documentation from the project in order to provide the company with know-how and tools for further improvement of their products. The work has been done using the simulation software COMSOL which was bought solely for the project. Analysis showed serious flaws as well as pure errors in the consultant?s documentation.

IntroduktionVåld i nära relationer är ett allvarligt samhällsproblem. Tre av fyra anmälda våldsbrott motkvinnor äger rum i hemmet. Våldet leder till ett omfattande lidande för kvinnor och barn.22-35 % av alla kvinnor som söker vård på sjukhus gör det till följd av våld i nära relation.SyfteSyftet med fördjupningsarbetet var att belysa lidandet hos de kvinnor som utsätts förmisshandel av sin partner, samt vilka omvårdnadsåtgärder som sjuksköterskan kan användasig av för att stödja dessa kvinnor.MetodFördjupningsarbetet var en litteraturstudie. Tio vetenskapliga artiklar söktes och bearbetades.ResultatMisshandlade kvinnor vill bli frågade om våld. De berättar om någon inleder.

Riskkapitalinvesteringar är ett relativt nytt fenomen som uppstått under de senaste årtionden och är ett sätt för bolag att få in nytt kapital till företaget. Investeringarna som görs innehar oftast en hög risk men ger en tämligen hög avkastning om projektet går som förutsett. Studien gick ut på att utforska hur riskkapitalbolag genomför investeringar samt hur bedömningar görs vid ett beslutsfattande. Det gjordes även en observation på vilka påverkningsfaktorer som existerar samt vilka effekter dessa har på investeringsprojekten.Totalt utnyttjades fyra teoretiska modeller för analys och jämförelse, samt för att framta en egen analysmodell. Det empiriska resultatet tydde på att investeringsprocesserna liknade varandra och följde teorierna, dock med en viss avvikelse.

Syftet med denna studie var att kartlägga screeningsinstrument som mäter nutritionsstatus hos kritiskt sjuka samt se hur de används i vården. Studien genomfördes som en systematisk litteraturstudie. Artiklar söktes i databaserna Cinahl och Medline. Tretton artiklar identifierades, efter kvalitetsgranskning, till studien. I resultatet framkom flera nutritionsscreeningsinstrument och tre utav dessa; SGA, MUST och NRS 2002, var mer anpassade för screening av kritiskt sjuka.

Background: The district nurses profession has traditionally been health promotion. In order to find patients with excessive alcohol intake, district nurses use AUDIT. Research shows that health professionals find it difficult to face alcohol abusers in primary care. AIM: The aim is to describe how district nurses work with AUDIT. Method: Semi-structured interviews with six informants were carried out.

In Sweden, lowest acceptable haemoglobin levels in blood donators are 125g/L for women and 135g/L for men for a test sample taken in the beginning of the blood donation. Levels, which are 10g/L lower, are accepted if the sample is taken after the blood donation. Earlier studies show that the haemoglobin level decreases for a person that is lying down.The two aims of this study were to examine how much the haemoglobin levels change during blood donation and to examine if the photometrical instrument Pronto-7TM shows equivalent results to that of the established method Cell-Dyn Sapphire.In the study, 120 blood donors participated. Blood samples were taken in the beginning and in the end of the donation. Analyses by Pronto-7TM were done before and after the donation.The haemoglobin level decreased significantly during the blood donation.

Syftet med föreliggande studie är att undersöka i hur några BVC-sjuksköterskor arbetar för att belysa och upptäcka postpartum depression hos nyblivna pappor. Studiens empiriska material bygger på en kvalitativ metod i form av semistrukturerade intervjuer. Totalt har åtta BVC-sjuksköterskor intervjuats, varav sju av intervjuerna har använts för att presentera studiens resultat. Uppsatsens teoretiska referensram utgörs av Travelbees omvårdnadsteori, Von Bertalanffys generella systemteori samt Antonovskys KASAM. Resultatet visar bland annat att BVC-sjuksköterskorna inte aktivt arbetar för att belysa och upptäcka postpartum depression hos nyblivna pappor, men att några av dem i enstaka fall har erbjudit pappan en EPDS-screening eller pappasamtal.

The main reason for doing this kind ofproject was to find out if it was possible to make a relatively advanced application with user friendly tools. We tested the software MIT App Inventor, and the ability to create a useful application for people who wants to get an overview of their energy intake.During the process we found out that it was possible, but minor setbacks occurred. The main idea of our vision; to make a calculator and a registry with different kinds of food and their amount of calories, was completed quite easily. Later on, design alternatives and more advanced functions were not possible for us to make.This might have been because of the short amount of time the project was given, but also, and more likely, because the software did not contain that kind of advanced functions. Even if there were factors that held creativity back, the basic idea was possible to form..

Miljöbron is a non-profit organization; their main purpose is to merge companies and students into different environmental projects. Background: As a part of a national health control program, Statens VeterinärmedicinskaAnstalt performs diagnostics to screen flocks for certain pathogens causing high mortality,morbidity and/or serious economical losses. There are several viruses in the programincluding IBDV (infectious bursal disease virus), IBV (infectious bronchitis virus) and NDV(Newcastle disease virus). Method: 96 serum samples were collected from different poultryflocks in Sweden and analyzed by ELISA, which are currently used in the health controlprogram as well as by a commercial prototype of a multiplex immunoassay manufactured byLuminex Corp., which is currently under evaluation at the United States Department ofAgriculture USDA. This 4-plex assay detects antibodies for the three above-mentionedviruses as well as antibodies of avian reovirus. In the context of this study the ELISAs run inroutine diagnostics as well as a REO ELISA were used as the standard for comparison.Result: The antibody concentration in serum from vaccinated chickens was high while theantibody concentration level in serum from not vaccinated chickens was low.

Research has shown fear of childbirth to be as common among men as women, but the phenomenon has not been as studied among men. Some men have trouble talking about their fear and therefore don?t get the support that they need. Where to go to get help is not so obvious for these men.
