The aim of this Master's thesis is to investigate the importance of subject expertise for academic librarians in Skåne. Virtually all librarians in Sweden have studied other subjects besides library and information science (LIS) before becoming librarians, and in this thesis we ask what happens to this expertise. How many librarians can be said to have a good background in the subjects they are working with? Do academic librarians use their subject knowledge on the job? Does it make a difference what subject one has studied when it comes to job opportunities? What do librarians themselves think of the importance of subject expertise? We are also interested in finding out how subject expertise fits in with the growing professionalization of librarianship.A quantitative questionnaire was sent to 195 academic librarians at four different institutes of higher education in Skåne. A total of 107 librarians answered questions about their LIS education, subject background and current job as well questions on how important they perceived a subject background to be for themselves and for academic librarians in general.

Varför Sverige är så annorlunda är en fråga som det inte har reflekterats över eller diskuterats om i någon större utsträckning i den offentliga debatten. En intressant frågeställning som aktualiseras angående förarbeten är emellertid frågan om maktdelning mellan den lagstiftande, verkställande och dömande makten, dvs. riksdag, regering och domstolarna.

In the school subject of the natural sciences it is imperative that the students are given opportunities to ?talk science?, since the dialogues that occur in the classroom have a significant importance for the students? abilities to engage in meaning-making in their learning process. Hence, the student and teacher interaction in the classroom and the feedback given there play a significant role in the students? learning process. The aim of this study is to contribute to the development of formative assessment tools that can mediate the students? meaning-making in natural sciences subjects in upper-secondary school.

This Bachelor Thesis in the area of Computer Science and Work Science describes the process of design and development of an IT-tool between the municipality of Ron-neby and TietoEnator a development and consultancy firm, the Gothenburg office. The thesis focuses mainly on the cooperation between the consultant designer and the local municipal. Through cooperation, the organisation is incorporated into the tool and the tool is incorporated into the organisation. Concepts that are central in this thesis are design, cooperation and tailoring. A question raised is, if distance work and extensive cooperation might be a good way of working in the process of design and development, when the organisation is being incorporated into the tool.

I och med att antalet länder i gemenskapen ökar uppstår också allt större klyfter mellan så väl medlemsstaternas sociala förhållanden som nationella lagstiftning. Detta innebär att mer komplexa förhållanden växer fram som kräver allt större anpassning hos de enskilda medlemsstaterna, vilket genererar problem. Det ligger varken i Europeiska unionens eller i medlemsstaternas intresse att den fria rörligheten medför några större ekonomiska problem för arbetsmarknadens aktörer. I Vaxholmskonflikten har dock problemet med nationella skillnader aktualiserats utan att den nationella domstolen anser sig kunna finna en gemenskapsrättsligt godtagbar lösning.

Consequently it is logical to assume that the manufacturing companies? factory planning process plays a major role in the work for increased sustainability.

Ett medium som blivit viktigt för marknadsföraren är Internet och att därigenom skicka direkt marknadsföring till e- postadress, en marknadsföringsmetod som har kommit att bli tämligen ifrågasatt då den på olika sätt ansetts kränka den personliga integriteten. Inom området har olika EG- direktiv skapas för att motverka denna risk för kränkning som kan uppstå i samband med markandsföring och den teknikutveckling som skett och fortfarande sker. Genom Sveriges medlemskap i EU har således de nationella lagarna kommit att påverkas.

This study has been assigned by Bengt Hellman who works at the logistic department at IKEA Torsvik just outside of Jönköping. The task has been to develop a new picking strategy for the Oversize area in the CDC-Warehouse. The reason why IKEA wants a new strategy is because they want to minimize the route length for the forklifts when collecting the orders.By evaluating the current strategies on other areas in the CDC-storehouse, study literature within this subject and look at restrictions for the storing of goods, we have analyzed how the Oversize area works today. We compared the gathered information, to how it should be done according to the literature to be able to work out a new functional strategy.Today, IKEA does not have a working strategy for the oversize area because of lack of time and because all the power has been put on other areas were sales rates are currently higher. This have led to lack of organisation at the Oversize area and items are just put were there is space without first analysing were it should be placed.The strategy that we have worked out and introduced to IKEA builds on easiness of understanding the layout, the employees shall know why an item is placed where it is.

This thesis aims towards an understanding of information systems and subject representation in relation to academic disciplines. This is achieved by comparing how a discipline, History of science and ideas, represents itself compared with the subject representation of its dissertations in an information system, LIBRIS. The point of departure for this thesis is the domain analytic view of Hjorland which states that the quality in information seeking is enhanced if the subject representation considers the contexts in which documents are produced and used. The importance of concepts such as domain and discipline is discussed. The disciplines view of itself is established by the study of articles written by scholars in the discipline, by how the discipline presents itself on the homepages of five university institutions and by the examination of titles and keywords given to dissertations in the discipline.

Internet är ett öppet system och för att Internet i högre utsträckning skall kunna användas även vid hantering av känslig information krävs bättre säkerhet. Syftet med denna rapport är att utifrån Karlskrona kommuns säkerhetspolicy samt medborgarnas åsikter om säkerhet, undersöka vilken eller vilka säkerhetslösningar som lämpar sig bäst vid den planerade 24-timmarsmyndigheten. I denna rapport undersöks vilken eller vilka av de alternativa medborgarcertifikat som myndigheter får använda sig av. Målet är att komma fram till en möjlig lösning för elektronisk identifiering inom den framtida, 24-timmarsmyndigheten inom Karlskrona kommun. För att genomföra denna utredning har vi använt oss av intervjuer, enkäter och litteraturstudier. Rapporten innehåller även bakgrundsfakta för att få en ökad förståelsen av innehållet.

Abstract This report is our bachelor thesis. Our work has taken place at a galvanising company in Sölvesborg. The company faced major changes, of which one was a computerisation process. The new system could involve changes in work practice and in specific tasks, affecting the workers. If the coming system was to support work, from the production personnel?s perspective, we felt a legitimate participation in the development and design of the future work practice, was a requirement that was not met. During our ethnographical studies we noted that conflicts arose between production and administrative -personnel.

This master thesis in library- and information science is about the intermediary function of the library room from an environment-psychological point of view. Young people are a group in society who often reduce their visits to the library when growing up. There are lots of reasons for this maybe more attractive activities occur outside the library doors, making the young choose not to use the library. But if the library interior is attractive in itself, and has a welcoming atmosphere, there might be a change and the young people may well choose to pay the library a visit. What is important to young people how do they want their library room to look? Our purpose is to see how the physical environment affects young people in libraries.
