The objective of this report is to present a review of the studies which has been carried out up to days date concerning how temperature affects vegetables physiologically when it comes to their health inducing as well as quality reducing features. The essay therefore starts off with defining what is meant by the terms health promoting and quality reducing features. It then moves on to describe how different subspecies of Brassica oleracea, that is to say vegetables such as broccoli, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts and kale, is affected by temperature. B. oleracea was chosen because the species contains several commercially interesting subspecies and therefore provides a broad field even though only one species is assessed.

Placed within the field of recent research concerning religion and contemporary religious landscapes, this thesis aims to show conceptions of human life and body displayed in ten Swedish health magazines. The analysis aims to demonstrate the appearance of body and bodily experience and in addition see in what way ?westernized? religious traditions and methods from east Asia may contribute to perspectives of health. The main theories for the study are objectified versus phenomenological understanding of the human body by Drew Leder (1992; 1990) and Kristen Zeiler (2010). AbstractThe organization of the health care system in Sweden has been subjected to investigations and discussions in order to make it more effective. The aim is to create a better public health care and to economize on the financial resources. In the year of 2003 an amendment of the Swedish law made it easier for municipalities and county councils to make own solutions and agree about how health service should be organized in the best way. This resulted in a number of test projects. In this paper I will focus on one of these test projects which took place in Borlänge and was based on collaboration between the municipality and the county council in Dalecarlia.

In human service organizations it is important to enlighten the significance of human encounters. The aim of this study was to explore nursing students experiences of developing empathy and professional relationship in encounters with patients and next of kin during their education. Interviews with five nursing students were carried out. The method of analysing content analysis was used. One main theme and five subthemes were presented.

Bakgrund: Hur vet vi som sjuksköterskor vad som menas när det talas om palliativ? Världen utvecklas och så gör även begreppen i den. Genom att studera ord får forskaren reda på den egentliga betydelsen och den allmänna definitionen. Syfte: Att klargöra och definiera begreppet palliativ. Metod: Begreppsanalysmodell av Walker och Avant (1995). Studien är byggd på vetenskapliga artiklar, ordböcker och lexikon. Resultat: Ur den lexikala och litterära analysen växte studiens kärna fram, attributen. För att begreppet palliativ skall kunna infrias krävs det obotlig sjukdom, tillfällig hjälp, lindring och stöd.

Bakgrund: Munvård är en viktig del av omvårdanden för patienters välbefinnande. Daglig rengöring av tänder och munhåla är grunden till att förebygga olika sjukdomstillstånd. Undersökningar visar att kunskapen om munvård är låg hos vårdpersonal. Syfte: Syftet med studien är att belysa vårdpersonals uppfattning om munvård. Metod: En litteraturstudie har gjorts där fem artiklar ingår. En kvalitativ analysmetod har använts. Resultat: Resultatet visar på att vårdpersonal har uppfattningen att de fått för lite utbildning i munvård men att de ändå prioriterar munvård högt. Vårdpersonals utbildning har betydelse för hur de upplever att utföra munvård. Slutsats: Det behövs mer utbildning för vårdpersonal i området munvård och en manual för hur de ska utföra munvård..

This thesis is a systematic review of the Swedish healthcare and hospital-library?s authorities on the consumer health information. The goal is to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses that are inherited in two professions (medical and LiS) with two completely different perspectives on mediating information.The method used is a mix between conceptual analysis of the Swedish term ?patient information? and a Critical conceptual analysis, according to Fairclough, of published native theses and international professional journals.Conclusion of the thesis is that although the nursing and medical staff has the necessary medical expertise it does not, in many cases have either the time or skill to completely satisfy a patient or his/her next of kin´s information needs when exposed in a uneasy situation as when in need of treatment or help in any kind.The hospital librarian on the other hand does have the intermediating skills and most often the time to explain complex treatments or medical procedures, but the lack in medical or nursing expertise.In a perfect setting there is an inter-professional cooperation which brings a lot of positive results. The problem today is often to overcome the gap in awareness of one and other that exists in a modern Swedish hospital..

Abstract. Aim: The aim of this study is to determine certain health, demographic and socioeconomic factors that affect the costs for specialized health care between the municipalities within the Västra Götaland region. Method: The method is explorative and analytical. The costs for specialized health care was divided into three different subgroups; independent somatic specialized health care, specialized health care provided by private practices or outside the region and psychiatric specialized health care. The data was age-standardized.

This study deals with the complex phenomenon of occupational health. There is knowledge of how a good work environment should look like, but despite this, many employees experiences ill health in the workplace mainly in the form of neck and back pain. This study is a case study conducted in a high-risk workplace. The overall purpose was to describe and analyze the health situation of a specific company with neck and back problems. Mainly, eight interviews had been used as the data collection method, but additional observations had also been implemented.

The purpose of the study was to find out how Swedbank Insurance view of health characterizes wellness work at the company. It was a qualitative study in which five persons involved in their health and wellness work were interviewed. Syfte: Syftet är att belysa sjuksköterskans upplevelser av vården av patienter med ätstörningar. Metod: En litteraturstudie och granskning av sju vetenskapliga artiklar har genomförts, materialet analyserades med inspiration av Graneheims och Lundmans analysmetod. Resultat: Sjuksköterskor tycker inte att de har tillräcklig kunskap och utbildning för att vårda patienter med ätstörningar.

Background: Pressure ulcers are a common problem and cause great suffering for those who develop it, and are also an expensive cost to the society. Aim: To describe nursing measures for prevention of pressure ulcers among elderly people in ordinary and nursing homes. Method: A literature review by structured analyze of scientific articles. Result: The analyze resulted in six subjects for prevention of pressure ulcers. These subjects were; risk assesment, nutrition, repositioning, skin/hygiene, nurse knowledge and documentation.
