Value stream mapping is a tool that is frequently used by many different companies. It is a great tool used to achieve the work that follows the theories of lean production. The tool is used, however, only frequent on the factory floor and the method is also designed based on this type of use.An interest of applying the method on administrative parts of the company has occurred lately. Administrative parts of the company refers to the part that does all the planning such as purchasing, receiving orders, customer contact, contact with factory floor and other work that is made around the actual manufacturing. But the knowledge about applying value stream mapping on the planning part of the company is lacking because the method is relatively new.In this work, a comparison is made between the introduction of value stream analysis on production and planning.

Crisis management planning is a relatively new policy area in the European countries. It has materialized since the fall of the iron curtain and because of the increased interest to prevent wide-ranging national emergencies. In Sweden, the county administrative board has a key obligation to perform risk analysis guidelines. This assessment involves identifying crisis, planning response to the crisis and, if necessary, confronting and resolving the crisis in the geographic area of the region. Det har blivit allt mer populärt på senare tid med inredning av hemmet, och det finns idag stora möjligheter med virtuell 3D, vilket gör projektet relevant för tiden vi lever i. Projektet handlar om att skapa en första prototyp av en möblerbar 3D-miljö med tillhörande användarvänligt gränssnitt som ska kunna användas i Mios varuhus. Prototypen bygger på två demofilmer av applikationen där gränssnittet och användarens interaktionsmöjligheter har visualiserats i en vanlig skärm, och 3D-miljön i en 3D-skärm, dessa har sedan synkats med varandra för att ge ett helhetsintryck av applikationen. Gränssnittet skulle vara så pass användarvänligt att Mios kunder själva skulle kunna använda applikationen och med hjälp av speciella 3D-skärmar och renderingstekniker skulle miljön framstå som verklig. Projektet startade med en förstudie, med intervjuer och research.

Jämställdhet låter bra ? men vad är det egentligen vi planarkitekter ska göra? Det finns idag stor kunskap om jämställdhetsarbete och riktlinjer för hur detta arbete bör bedrivas. Samtidigt har inte implementeringen inom planeringsprofessionen utvecklats i någon större omfattning. Frågan är varför det inte har skett, samt hur planarkitekter kan integrera jämställdhetsaspekter i sitt arbete. Syftet med examensarbetet är att undersöka rekommendationer från experter och deras möjliga tillämpning. Rekommendationer om jämställdhetsarbete i arbetsprocessen från nulägesbeskrivning fram till ett färdigt planförslag undersöks.

Syftet med arbetet är att undersöka hur vi idag i Sverige planerar för industrier och verksamheter i anslutning till bostäder, och på vilket sätt detta påverkar samhällsstrukturen. Arbetet syftar även till att åskådliggöra de regleringar och historiska händelser som lett fram till den modernismplanering vi idag ser. The purpouse of this study is to find out how and if a Content Managment System (CMS) can benefit from applied User Experience Design (UX). A work project has been executed where a client wanted the students to create a user friendly CMS for adding content to a global hotel review site. A prototype of a CMS was created based on literature studies about UX and CMS. The prototype of the user friendly CMS was then tested through user tests and interviews with key users. Typically, when Faurecia in Torsås are planning a new assembly line, one of the steps is to build a full-scale model of the line in card board, a form of mock-up planning. Faurecia has shown interest in finding an alternative methodology. The purpose was to explore the possibility of replacing today's cardboard based mock-up planning with models in a digital simulation environment.The purpose of the thesis has been to answer some of these complex questions; What are the benefits of using a simulation tool? In what way can we use it? If we choose to use a simulation tool, in what way does it affect our way of planning an assembly line? What are the advantages and disadvantages? Are there any economical and social aspects?Our results made us realize that a digital simulation tool does not replace the card board. On the other hand simulation could be used as a complement.

Climate changing is a growing problem for many countries and communities over the world. The cities has a huge work to deal with in their reforcements of their cities to be resilient ones. This thesis makes an effort to investigate and illuminate some of the problem the cities has to solve related to flooding, hazards, erosions, rising sea levels and crotches. This thesis will help to find solutions that international and national efforts has produced and handed out to each other. A lot of communities are charing their excellent tools that works for them.

The aim of this study has been to create a future scenario of what archiving might look like in the future. The main theory used in the study comes from future studies, but also a theory about the social impact of technology on work were used. The questions that were analysed were about the tasks of the archivist, the appearance of the archival institution, collaboration with other LAM institutions, knowledge requirements for the archivist and the amount of archivist positions. The method used in the study was scenario writing, which derives from future studies. The source material consisted among other things of regulations and laws related to archiving together with some archival manuals.The tasks of the future archivist will probably consist of the same tasks as those of present archivists who work with digital archiving, even though archivists probably forever also will have to work a little with paper records.The future archival institution will probably retain its paper records and keep its digital records on digital storage media.

This major project in Building Engineering has its focus on inquiring into what methods has been used in the planning process of the residential buildingLjusbojen 1. This project has been conducted in cooperation with Kadesjös Ingenjörsbyrå AB, an engineering contractor firm which also acts as the property developer. Initially several different general methods for planning residential buildings have been presented. After the methods from the process of building Ljusbojen 1 has been analyzed compared to the general methods presented in part 1. This shows what the determining factors are during the planning process; factors such as cost, quality, time management, know-how and environmental issues.

In this paper we take a look at digital applications to help the user with public transportation. The main goal was to evaluate the problem a user can face when aiming to use the public transportation system, and to create a application for Apple Iphone that can enhance and help the user, no matter if he is familiar with the local public transportation system, or if he is less familiar with it. The aim was that the user wouldnt need any previous knowledge to be able to use our application. We combined Location-Based Services with Realtime-travelinformation and trip planning to examine if this combination could make both of the two different user-groups satisfied. To understand the problematics a user faces when approaching the public transportation-scene, Scenario-Based Design is evaluated as a method to grasp this problem.

Göteborg är en av Europas mest segregerade städer (Andersson m.fl. 2009, s. 7); inkomstsvaga, ofta utlandsfödda bor i hyresrätter i förortsstadsdelar medan de ekonomiskt starka har sina egnahemsområden eller bor i innerstaden. I jämförelse med andra liknande städer i Europa är Göteborg starkt segregerat. Mer än hälften av regionens bostadsområden består till 90 procent av bara en upplåtelseform, de flesta av dem är egnahemsområden, vilket placerar Göteborg i en särställning.

Storm water management has become a more important matter as urban areas are expanding and natural areas are being exploited. As nature landscapes are being converted into hard surface areas storm water flow is affected both in terms of velocity and size. A flow increase can easily result in a flooding if the dimensions of the pipeline system are inadequate. Considering predicted upcoming climate changes, flooding?s may become more common in urban areas in the future.

Vi reser allt mer och vi reser allt längre. Till följd av vidgade arbetsmarknader och en ökad klimatmedvetenhet har tågresandet fått större fokus, och orter med järnvägsstationer har fått ökat intresse både för in- och utpendling. Ett välplanerat stationsområde kan vara avgörande för en stationsorts attraktivitet samtidigt som de är bland de mest komplexa områdena att planera. Sambanden mellan den fysiska utformningen av stationens närområde och människors transportval kan vara svår att uppfatta. För att kunna presentera planeringsförslag i ett stationsnära läge krävs därför grundliga analyser av ortens lokala planförhållanden. Syftet med detta kandidatarbete är att utvärdera analysmetoder för bedömning av orter i stationsnära lägen som kan appliceras på Herrljunga tätort, genom att studera tre handböcker från andra delar av Sverige.

This essay gives the reader an overview of the different problems and issues a landscape architect might meet, in the process of planning and realizing an eco-village. Its aim is to stimulate new ideas, based on the traditional, present and future working field of landscape architects. The essay does not claim to cover all imaginable aspects of social sustainability within an eco- village, but refers to the presented sources for further in-depth reading. Although the original focus has been on physical planning, the interviewees? words have been of big importance, and to a certain extent changed the constitution of this essay.
