The purpose of this thesis was to study descriptions of companies on their webpages on the Internet. This was performed from a socialconstructionist point of view with focus being on subject positionings and gender. A critical discourse analysis was carried out on two texts from the webpages of two organizations on the Internet. Using the three dimensional model for critical discourse analysis by Fairclough, the discourses and subject positionings that the texts included could be revealed. The purpose of this thesis was also to point out the importance of the use of language in recruiting personnel and to hopefully encourage organizations to put effort into text production to avoid discrimination.

Initiativet till detta examensarbete kom från Arne Karyds kurs Transportekonomi och miljö där vi blev intresserade av att titta närmare på Stockholm ? Arlanda flygplats och dess miljökrav.Examensarbetets inriktning och mål är att undersöka hur järnvägen kan bidra till att Arlanda ska klara av sina miljökrav i framtiden. Just nu pekar prognoserna på att verksamheten på Arlanda kommer att kunna hålla sig under det koldioxidtak som sattes av miljödomstolen 1991 i omkring fem år till (runt år 2010) utan att behöva begränsa flygverksamheten.Syftet med examensarbetet är att undersöka hur mycket längre LFV eller Arlanda kan hålla sig under detta tak genom effektivare användning av tågtrafik på Arlandabanan och andra förbättringsåtgärder inom kollektivtrafiken, men utan att begränsa flygtrafiken. Idag utnyttjas Arlandabanan inte optimalt då staten lovade bort trafikeringsrättigheten på sträckan till de entreprenörer som hjälpte till att finansiera och bygga banan. Projektet var Sveriges första infrastrukturbygge där privata intressenter och staten hjälptes åt med finansieringen.

Kraven på gräsytors kvalité inom sportsektorn har under de senaste decennierna ökat kraftigt, exempelvis hur snabbt ytorna blir spelbara efter regn, hur de klarar av att motstå svampangrepp och att överleva vintern utan skador. Det har visat sig att funktionen på avvattningen har stor betydelse för att kunna svara upp på dessa högre kvalitetskrav. Inom sportsektorn är målet med avvattningssystemet just att öka markens lämplighet för rekreation, vilket innebär en gräsyta med hög spelkvalité. Detta uppnås genom att snabbt leda bort överskottsvatten så att marken återfår förmågan att klara trafikbelastning samt genom att skapa en växtbädd med en för gräset gynnsam fördelning mellan luft- och vattenfyllda porer. Vilken förmåga avvattningssystemet får i form av intensitet, kapacitet och hur mycket luft/vatten som finns i växtbädden, kan i praktiken kan vara svårt att säga utan att ha först gjort beräkningar.

This study tests two financial valuation models empirically by valuing three stocks from three industries, with the purpose of studying how well valuation models work empirically and to make a forecast. The models which will be tested are residual income valuation and discounted cash flow. Nine stocks will be picked strategically from the Swedish stock market and additional analysis will follow in the analysis chapter.Based on analysis and valuation, the commodities industry has decent valuation as the healthcare industry is undervalued thanks to the high valuation of AZN. The energy industry has low value due to the capital intensive nature of the industry. This essay examines how age, power and agency is represented and reproduced in contemporary Swedish picture books.This is done through a combination of discourse analysis and literary analysis.It uses theoretical perspectives from sociology, and views childhood as a social construct. It sees discourse and language use as both representing and constructing social reality in the tradition of Norman Fairclough and critical discourse analysis. The main results is that the discourses of childhood in the material construct children as a separate group in society, and childhood as a special time in life. Large retirement numbers and fierce competition of available labour, results in municipalities have to be more attractive as an employer. One way for the municipalities to fulfil their staffing requirement is partly to increase their recruitment efforts, and partly to educate their existing employees. Discussions about the supply of competence are therefore pressing within municipal activity. The aim of the study was to investigate how the concept of competence is used within a municipal administration. The method that has been used is Norman Fairclough?s critical discourse analysis, a method that allows multi dimensional analysis.

The purpose of this paper is to compare the content and political message in the election posters of the political parties Sverigedemokraterna and Feministiskt Initiativ. This is achieved through a qualitative content analysis combined with text and rhetorical analysis as well as semiotics. Out of all the election posters from Sverigedemokraterna and Feministiskt Initiativ with national spread, eight were analyzed. The conclusions of this analysis are that both political parties prefer posters with high text content with the main purpose of gathering votes, and that persons were used as motives with the objective to present the party representatives and strengthen their perceived ethos..

Syftet med detta examensarbete har främst varit att förbättra inomhusklimatet i byggnaden Greenhouse, tillhörande företaget IVT Värmepumpar i Tranås. De anställda upplever problem med värme i byggnadens utbildningslokaler främst under sommarhalvåret. Tid har även lagts på att ta fram åtgärder som sänker byggnadens energianvändning i form av el och värme.Då examensarbetet utfördes under hösten användes ett simuleringsprogram för att få en bild av inomhusklimatet under sommarhalvåret. En modell av byggnaden byggdes upp i simulationsprogrammet, komplett med ventilations- och värmesystem.För att validera modellen som konstruerats utfördes flertalet mätningar under en veckas tid. Simuleringsmodellen kalibrerades sedan mot dessa mätningar för att efterlikna de verkliga förhållandena i så stor mån som möjligt.

With theories of creativity and aesthetic learning processes as a basis, this study explores the usage of the concept of creativity in the curriculum for the Swedish compulsory school (Lgr11) and in the various syllabi?s commentaries and the assessment guidelines for the subject of Sloyd produced by the Swedish National Agency for Education. The purpose of the study is, to examine to which extent an education and assessment that is directed towards the development of creativity among pupils in the subject of Sloyd, is underpinned and supported for in these texts, and furthermore how these wordings relate to the various other subjects? wordings about creativity. Det finns idag en trend i viljan att investera i samhällsfastigheter, det vill säga fastigheter där olika typer av samhällsservice bedrivs. Fördelen med denna typ av investeringar är att ägarna kan teckna långa hyresavtal med kommuner, landsting och staten som hyresgäst, vilket ger säkra kassaflöden i och med låg vakansrisk. Investeringsmarknaden för samhällsfastigheter är relativt ny för privata aktörer då dessa fastigheter tidigare ägdes i princip uteslutande av kommun och landsting, men som idag av olika anledningar valt att sälja och istället hyra tillbaka fastigheten av specialiserade fastighetsägare. Studien syftar till att identifiera de osäkerheter/risker som existerar vid investeringar i samt förvaltande av samhällsfastigheter och främst vårdfastigheter i Sverige. Genom att intervjua aktörer som deltagit i tre studerade transaktioner av vårdfastigheter från 2011 har en investeringskalkyl samt en känslighetsanalys utformats och legat till grund för de slutsatser som dragits.Att investera i samhällsfastigheter har visat sig vara en relativt stabil och säker investering, då de långa kontraktens driftnetton bidrar till att investeringen kan räknas hem redan under första kontraktstiden. Dock med antagande om att inga oväntade kostnader uppstår.

The objective of this thesis is to map the resources and methods used at the department OPPC, at AstraZeneca, and derived from that give suggestions on possible solutions that will increase their productivity.Mapping of the product flow, as well as gathering of process data, has mainly been done using observations, but consultation with the process technicians has also played a great role. Further have theoretical methods been used, based on literature studies, within the areas of Lean production and statistics.The work has incrementally gone forward since the steps taken has been restricted by the irregularity of production which led to the need of creating a fictive production flow. This has affected the lead-time calculations in the way that they are meant to give an indication, rather than an absolute truth, on how different methods described shall be used.The current state analysis showed multiple areas of improvement when defining capacity as value adding time in relation to total throughput time. Using the "standard scenario" as a basis showed that the actual production flow only constituted 50% of the total project time. Further it showed that the workflow contained more non-value adding activities than value adding activities, which is a result of how the work is distributed within the department as well as in the different projects.

This thesis focuses on Chinese?Swedish code-switching of bilingual children in Sweden. The purpose is to, through a case study, study what Chinese?Swedish code-switching looks like in daily conversations between bilingual children and their parents. Three main questions are formulated from the purpose of the thesis, foucusing on the types and frequencies of code-switching, the grammar of code-switching, and the motivation of code-switching.The linguistic material comes from voice recordings of naturally occurring conversations between three children and their parents, which are transcribed afterwards.

This study concerns how Muslims are portrayed in a choice of twelve news articles from Swedish dailies and tabloid newspapers on the aftermath of the film Innocence of Muslims published on YouTube. All articles are distributed in the newspapers Aftonbladet, Expressen, Dagens Nyheter and Svenska Dagbladet in the period of September 11th, 2012 until September 30th, 2012.For this study, a qualitative text analysis has been embraced and focus has been on van Dijk?s Critical discourse analysis to the texts, with additional features from semiotics applied on the images.The theories consist of Critical discourse analysis, hegemony, ideology and power, postcolonialism and stereotyping.In the qualitative content analysis, concrete examples from the articles are retrieved and commented. These have been divided into various themes, which are trends that the authors have been able to distinguish in the analysis.The result shows that Muslims in the analyzed newspapers are portrayed as the others, unimportant and extremely religious, in a negative manner rather than a positive. Moreover the press has tendencies to generalize Muslims as a group.
