Abstract.The question in this analysis is which gender moai, the big statues on Rapa Nui, represent. My hypothesis is that they have developed from visual symbols to metaphores in mythologies from an polynesian context. That these statues were symbols for human origin and creation of ancestors ideological power, and gods in consideration male gender. In the long isolation, in both time and space, the mytologies in Rapa Nui was changed, and the pictures got a new meaning. These changes depended on clearing of wood and big trees and the following difficult situation in farming.

Däckfackhandeln i Sverige : - från ett leverantörsperspektiv

Bakgrunden för denna uppsats är att jag som anställd i däckbranschen i Norden önskat att få ökad förståelse för vilka mekanismer som en däckleverantör, som normalt är ett försäljningsbolag ägt av en stor multinationell däckproducent, måste ta hänsyn till för att de självständiga däckfackhandlarna i Sverige skall föredra en viss leverantör och dennes produkter och varumärken framför andra leverantörer. Då däckfackhandeln totalt sett är den återförsäljningskanal som är störst när det gäller försäljning av däck till slutkund i Sverige, upplever jag detta som ett intressant forskningsområde. Däckbranschen i Sverige måste generellt anses som mer eller mindre outforskad. Internationellt kan det också se ut som om förvånansvärt få forskningsarbeten gjorts av just däckbranschen. När det gäller mitt specifika forskningsområde har jag inte funnit några motsvarande studier i mina sök i vetenskapliga databaser och liknande.

The thesis work focuses on marketing and its point of departure centers on mapping the utilization of social media as a form of marketing. The choice of this thesis subject has been deemed by the authors as one of particular interest due to the current popularity of social media in the Internet connected society and their use as marketing tools. Specifically, this thesis sets out to explore how companies exploit social media tools in marketing and how their use affects retail operations and customer relations in an effective and creative way.The report concentrates on qualitative data collection, the interview answers of four respondents, of which, two are considered experts within the field of social media. The choice of suitable respondents was strategic with the goal of covering as large a portion of the social media field as possible; one social media educator that works with companies and one who assists companies with social media applications. The remaining two respondents work in marketing and communications and employ, as part of their job, social media tools such as Facebook and Twitter.

Background: Nespresso is a part of the Nestlé group and was founded in 1986, in the liaison of the revolutionary new method of brewing coffee. The idea was that everyone should be able to brew themselves a cup of espresso that would taste as if a professional barista had done it. Nespresso has now turned in to a new coffee culture. From the beginning Nespresso only sold their products via their club, Nespresso Club, but in year 2000 they opened their first store in Paris.  AbstractThis Master?s thesis analyses the dynamics of the medieval counterweight lever engine, ortrebuchet, a type of mechanical artillery. The purpose is to study the differences between different types of these machines, and see if computer simulations can be used to validate preserved advice on construction. Simulations include machines with a fixed counterweight, a hinged counterweight and a combination of both counterweights.Due to the almost complete lack of archaeological finds and insufficient historical source material there are still, after more than a century of research, many unanswered questions concerning the design and performance of these machines.The present study is based on an analysis by Jahsman (2004). A more detailed mathematical model employing Coulomb-friction is used.
