Background: For an individual a surgery may involve strains and risks. Many patients experience a loss of its own identity and often an inability to control the situation while going through a surgical operation. Fear of pain or to not wake up from the anesthetic or that the surgery will fail are worrying factors that some people experiences. Purpose: The purpose was to describe patients? perceptions of preoperative information in connection to elective surgeries.

The pressure is getting tougher on Accident and Emergency departments. Therefore it is crucial to study how the patient?s perceive their visit to the Emergency department. Knowledge about this enables improvement of routines, patient participation and patient safety. The purpose of the study was to investigate patient?s experiences of their visit at the Emergency department.A descriptive design was used.

The aim of this study is to evaluate whether the value of occupant load is over or under estimated when the Swedish general value for department stores, 0,5 person/m2, is used for dimensioning shopping centers. The data that was analyzed derives from seven shopping centers and one department store. A conservative method was used to calculate the occupant load factor. The analysis shows that two groups can be discerned: one group that is characterized by a lower occupant load factor that does not exceed 0,3 person/m2, and one group with a higher occupant load factor. Shopping centers with a higher occupant load factor are located centrally in large urban areas.

The purpose of this report is to study the risk of dust explosions at the candy manufacturing plant Leaf Sverige in Gävle, Sweden. The risk analysis was conducted with a preliminary hazard analysis, PHA and event trees. The analysis focuses only on the risk posed to employees and material damages at the plant. No third person injuries have been considered. Another purpose of this report is to study risk awareness and risk communication concerning dust explosions.

Bakgrund: Var tionde patient i svensk sjukvård drabbas av vårdrelaterade infektioner vilket gör det till den vanligaste vårdskadan. Infektionerna leder till ökad dödlighet, längre vårdtideroch ökade kostnader för sjukvården. Trots tydliga riktlinjer och evidens för att basalahygienrutiner minskar förekomsten av vårdrelaterade infektioner är vårdpersonalensföljsamhet inte optimal. Samtidigt har förekomsten av bakterier som är resistenta mot antibiotika ökat i svensk sjukvård vilket ställer ökade krav på en rationell antibiotikaanvändning och att vårdpersonalen följer de basala hygienrutinerna. Syfte: Att undersöka vilka faktorer som påverkar vårdpersonalens följsamhet till basala hygienrutiner.

However, a control problem arises when employees have more freedom in decision-making which could potentially lead to undesirable outcomes. This report is a B.Sc. Forestry thesis work at the school for Forest Management, SLU. The work was an assignment from the forest owners? association Mellanskog. The aim of the work where to investigate the economical result of removing undergrowth trees before first thinning, and a follow-up of the contractors and their compliance with Mellanskog standards. This thesis work was divided in three parts: The first was to find a relation between the net volume from the first thinning and the cost of cleaning undergrowth trees. Secondly there was a follow-up in the field, to investigate whether the contractors have done the undergrowth cleaning according to Mellanskog?s directives.

Undersökningar visar att patientens attityd har stor betydelse när det gäller att följa ordinerad behandling. Syfte: Att belysa äldre människors attityder till och erfarenheter av läkemedel i glesbygd i Norrlands inland. Metod: För studien valdes en kvalitativ forskningsmetod.

Along with the development of technology, the cross-border trade is increasing and therefore there is a need for greater consumer protection. A good consumer protection creates a feeling of safety for the consumer and that by itself may help to increase cross-border trade. This is one of the reasons for why the EU has established regulatory framework for electronic commerce, for example the Directive2000/31/EC. The direc-tive strives to create a similar law for electronic commerce within the European Union. This paper?s main purpose is to ensure that the directive is implemented properly in Swedish law, and if there are other possible ways to achieve the objective, other than the ones that the Swedish legislator has chosen.
